What to use to dye my hair if I have no gloves?
I purchased some dye and developer at the local beauty supply store. I completely forgot to get gloves. What should I use in order to not stain my hands? (No Walmart bag ideas, please.)

First thing; my suggestion is DO NOT EVER use Vaseline (petroleum jelly) when coloring your hair. It's not water soluble and that can lead to some big problems. Although it will prevent dye from sticking to the skin, it is VERY easy to get into your hair and the color won't penetrate (resulting in strands that don't get colored evenly and are really oily). If you do get any in you hair, to wash it out you'll need to use something like dishwashing liquid (which would also remove your fresh hair color, lol). And then, if you are prone to oily skin, it may cause a breakout. (I've never had a hair stylist use Vaseline. DO USE body lotion, facal moisturizer, or even some facial cleanser before you start. Don't forget the tops of your ears! You don't need much, just don't rub it in all the way.

You can go to a place like wild oats or a wholistic food store and get a natural hair dye there. But beyond that something that will make you feel better and healthier is a nice new haircut. The salons also have protein packs they can put in your hair to give it shine and moisture. I would imagine people would say not to dye your hair when your breast feeding too. So if you don't do it now it might be more difficult later. I say do it now! And feel good about how gorgeous you will look as a new mommy. Congratulations!
