Ronaldinho to Atlas, thoughts?

http://blogs.mediotiempo.com/fut-al-horn...

How great would Atlas be with Ronaldinho. He might not be able to be at full speed, or do his Barcelona tricks, but he would have that leadership and different style up front. Sounds like a nice move, but can Atlas afford him.

other rumors I heard:
@PetrickMoreno
- Forlan to Queretaro
- "Titi" Henry to Leon
- Hobbit to Xolos and Aguilar to America
- Damian to Toluca and Pajaro to Tigres

What are the dangers of taking a bus from Mexico City to Toluca?

The main dangers are:Weather and it’s effects on the roadMuggings / hijackingsFor the first, you should be ok if you travel by day, and also, the top bus companies have these little “lights” inside the bus that turn on if the bus drivers exceeds the allowed maximum speed for the road. In this case you can either call the driver’s attention (they almost always comply in order to avoid sanctions from the company), or call the company directly. In either case, he should slow down and make it safer. At night, sometimes the road freezes over, there’s fog and sometimes animals in the road as it goes through several rural areas.About the muggings, just make sure you take a bus that has no stops. The safest (and most comfortable) is ETN. It has direct routes to Toluca bus station and departs from Observatorio almost every 30 minutes. The cost should be around 70 - 80 pesos (I haven’t taken it in a while) but it’s around 3 - 4 USD.

Is there hostility between Northern Mexicans and southern Mexicans?

Well…Do Northern Mexicans have hostility towards Southern Mexicans? Not really…Do we have many regionalisms in Mexico, and by association, have several regional stereotypes that we use to poke fun at one another? Yes, certainly!Mexico is an incredibly diverse and complicated nation, and anything that I write here about all the different regionalisms will not do the subject any justice.I live in the Northwest of the country (so please forgive me for any unintentional biases), and we regard anybody South of the port of Mazatlan as a Southern “foreigner”.Broadly speaking, Mexico can be segmented into North, South, and Center. Northerners are viewed as rough, outspoken barbarians (which up to a point, we are), Central Mexicans are perceived as slick city dwellers who can’t be trusted and wouldn’t survive a Northern summer or winter, and deep southerners are viewed as incredibly short, swarthy, and very quiet, bordering on taciturn.And don’t get me started on regionalisms on regionalisms! When I went to college in Monterrey, another Northern city which central Mexicans view as rough and barbaric, the locals would ask me why I was speaking so angrily (to “foreigners”, it sounds as Sonorans are always yelling), and where I had parked my horse and cattle (a reference to me being a rancher).If there is a country that can really be a parallel to Mexico in regionalisms is Great Britain. Not only are there major socioeconomic vertical differences, but many mutually unintelligible regional dialects. For Example: London and Mexico city are both the seat of government, culture and wealth. While the upper crust of society can speak the proper BBC ( or the Queen’s English), the general populace speaks the slang ridden, Cockney version of the language. Same thing happens in Mexico city. Monterrey would have it’s equivalent in Manchester, or Sheffield or some other Northern industrial city vying for top spot vs the Capital. And my home state of Sonora would be Scotland, a rough place with hardy people, having extreme weather, out at the far edge of the “civilized” world.PS In the movie “Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels” there was a scene that really stuck with me. The aide to the local London crime lord was hiring two Northerners for a job. When he was walking away, the Cockney, voicing his disgust at these two characters, said: “Fuckin’ nor’ern, monkeys…” . The Northerners, in turn, said: “ I hate these fookin’, soothern fairies…” Things are pretty similar in Mexico…
