Too Many Cigarette Of Heavy Drinking

Is smoking 20-25 cigarettes per day considered heavy smoking?

There are different levels of smoker, social smokers (only smoke with other smokers), heavy smokers (pack a day or more), etc. As far as a the cigarette companies see smokers, they're interested in the people who smoke 9 cigarettes a day or more; I've taken surveys about smoking where if you 'only' smoke 1-8 a day they're not interested (i.e. you don't qualify). It's not a black or white thing such as... well, very few things are black and white, not even if you're alive or not (temporary death where major systems stop and body seems dead; vegetative condition i.e. mind is no longer having any activity except to keep body alive, etc). If you smoke on a regular basis, I'd say that you are a smoker, whether that is 2 packs a month, 3 cigarettes a day, etc. If you smoke 10-20 cigarettes a year, then no, not a smoker. It's very relative.

Does smoking cigarettes during/after drinking beer really help "keep" your buzz?

Your buzz can play tricks on you. Ever get really drunk, lay down, and look at the ceiling fan? You get dizzy. Even after you stop looking at it, your brain will talk your body into throwing up, because it's convinced (finally) that you drank too much. But you were fine before you looked at it. And you stopped looking at it when you started getting dizzy... so, how come you spent ten minutes trying not to puke, and the feeling never got better? Because your brain was convinced you were sick.

Once you've had enough beer, you just kind of gravitate toward any addictive substance you've ever done. If you have smokes in your pocket, all of a sudden you're out of them, with no idea how you smoked so many in such a small time. People who smoke marijuana (a non-addictive substance) crave it when they're drunk. People who quit smoking will crave smokes when they're drinking, some start smoking again, some only smoke when they drink.

Your brain plays tricks on you when you're buzzed. Last night, I saw a heavy smoker go three hours without a smoke, Drunk off his ***. He just... forgot to have one. But, once I mentioned it, he NEEDED one. You have a one track mind when you get more than-a-little drunk, and he was focused on playing pool at the time.

Well, now that you've brought it up, it's midnight here, and I haven't gotten any bartime yet. Time to go.

Cheers!

I smoke pack cigarettes a day and drink a bottle of wine every night. How do I start to turn my life around?

For about the last year, I've been smoking a pack of cigarettes a day and drinking at least a bottle of wine every night. I know this lifestyle isn't healthy and I’m so frustrated with myself. I'm only 22 years old, so I know that it isn't too late to change my ways. Every night I always say to myself that tomorrow I'm going to change and stop smoking/ drinking and start to jog every day/ lift weights to get back in shape, but I can never bring myself to do it. I've tried a couple of times to stop cold turkey with drinking and smoking and the same day start to exercising, then I get frustrated/ unmotivated and return to my life style. Has anyone had any experience of turning their life around? Maybe I'm being too ambitious and trying too much within a short period of time and that's why I return to my old lifestyle. Anyone who has any experience of turning their life around, I would really appreciate your advice. Thanks!

Is alcohol worse than cigarettes?

smoking is the most preventable cause of death.Alcohol is really good for you if you don't over do it.I like to have a glass or two of red or white wine everyday.I really like a beer & have one often. The key to alcohol is not to get drunk so go easy on the juice & you will be okay, but for smoking the least bit of it in the lungs is bad for you.I'm a former smoker I quit Sept 9th,1975 & hope I never smoke again because it was hard for me to quit. However if I smoke just one cigarette I would be back on them full force again because people are addicted to tobacco(nicotine) & it is worse habit to break than alcohol.Stay away from tobacco.Oh yes it seems more women smoke than men I think most women have a harder time breaking a habit than men.I don't know why.

Can you smoke cigarettes every now and then without getting addicted?

Cigarettes have nicotine, a super addictive substance. Plus they have a **** load of other bad things in them.

Everyone has different levels of willpower, and some people are just able to smoke every once and a while. But you won't really be able to tell how your body will crave cigarettes until you start smoking.

But really, with the amount of **** in cigarettes, why would you even start? Be smart and don't bother smoking all together, your going to thank yourself later.
