Pepto Bismol over dose?
I've been using it for 3 days and taking 2 caplets every 1 hour but not more than 16 caplets a day like the directions on the label say (I took 12 a day) but is 3 days a lot is that overdosing? Because it says stop using in 2 days when diarrhea stops but I dont really have diarrhea im using it for the upset stomach and nausea and now i kinda feel better. So I was wondering is that over dosing?
How much is 1 dose of pepto bismol?
i lost the little cup that comes with it, and noplace on the web or pepto bismol's website does it say the actual amount of a dose.. it just sais to use the little cup. can someone measure it for me or tell me if you already know? it look like about 3tb from pictures ...
I accidentaly took a dose of pepto bismol while pregnant?
I did the same thing. When I first got pregnant the office that I go to gave out a sheet of meds that are ok while you are pregnant. Pepto was one of them. Well I was sick and I took it,,,, well come to find out, its not ok to take(because there is a form of asprin in it) But I asked a friend that is a nurse practitioner and she said I will be fine. So dont worry

What is the correct Pepto-Bismol dosage for kids?
Liquid- don't give to children, I don't remember the age cutoff nor do I know what age group you are referring to.Edit: there is a collapsed answer that tells you in detail why liquid is a big no no. It's basically like asprin, which can cause Reyes. Also my answers are for a 3 almost 4 year old and I did speak with both my ped and a advice line nurse. I am 25 and have to take 8 pepto a day for a condition so this is a staple in my home.Adult chewable- I always go with half and if symptoms persist then I wait and give the other half.Children's pepto- one, again if symptoms persist, I wait and give more.

And I probably err on the side of caution because I worked in pharmacy at one time & when I was very ill I asked a very trusted pharmacist to look it up (I really wanted to take it) and he said the salicylate levels in it could actually be high enough to be a source of gastrointestinal bleeding for young infants with intestines more sensitive to such things. Since I know him & he has always been a straight shooter & not prone to inherently go with the mainstream opinion, I think he would have told the straight deal. I am not saying no to nurse your baby. I think a single dose is probably fine, but I would avoid it's use in the future. I would personally use rice water - it is highly effective & totally safe - as it's literally rice boiled in water & you sip the water. It has been used very well for a long time. For nausea try ginger - either the root boiled or buy the capsules. Those work wonders too.
Can Pepto-Bismol be used to treat a hangover?
During a hang over, I'll try anything! However, I find that lots of milk helps. I was a bartender for 25yrs and have heard every remedy you could imagine and just as many people that swear by them. The only thing that helps, is time and for me, lots of milk, straight from the jug cuz I feel to crappy to bother pouring out into a glass
Can you take Pepto-Bismol...?
Pepto is the BEST!!! My husband has a verrrrry sensitive tummy...and he practically lives on this stuff. If your friend is feeling barfy, the pepto might help...if not, it's sort of unpleasant to throw up. But it's pretty and pink. LOL Tell her to have some dry toast to start out with...and as she feels better stick to the BRAT diet for a day or two to give her poor tummy a rest. BRAT=Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast. As with anything, you shouldn't overdose on the pepto. If you take too much it could upset your friend's stomach even more. Take the recommended doses...I'd take it right after eating. Side effects will be dark (sometimes black) stool and a black tongue. This is normal, don't worry. If she's been throwing up a lot she should prolly get to a dr. It's almost flu season! Tell her to have some gatorade too in order to hydrate. Hope she feels better soon! =)

- hey David ! - it should work within 10 to 15 minutes, but if it doesn't work by then, try taking some more. - then about every 1/2 hour after that, but not more than 4 or 5 times, cuz if it doesn't work by then, it's cuz it mite be something else.
