Took Out Belly Button Piecing

If your belly button piercing is infected should you take it out?

unfortunately everything the doctors says is not true. DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE THE PIERCING OUT!!! its okay to leave it in, yu really dnt have a choice unless yu want bigger problems. if yu take the piercing out, the hole will close up && trap the infection inside. && that can cause wayyy worse problems than yu already have now. I know it hurts && its itchy && very irritating, but watever yu do, do take it out. my belly piercing was once infected, but I continued to clean it && the infection cleared up && now its fine. its ok to stay on the medicine for however long your doctor said to && continue to keep it clean. I would recommend cleaning your piercing with warm sea salt water (NOT IODIZED TABLE SALT) if yu aren't already. take a shot glass, put a few rocks of salt in the glass, put warm water in the glass, && then stir until the salt has dissolved. once it has dissolved; bend over, put the shot glass up to your piercing, && then sit back/lie down && let your piercing soak for at least 5-10 mins. wat warm sea salt soaks do is it draws out the infection && bacteria that causes infection. yu wanna do the sea salt soaks 2-3 times a day everyday until your piercing is healed all the way. this is a very good method && it worked amazingly for me && I'm sure it will for yu. dnt touch it or anything, unless you're about to clean it, but make sure your hands are very clean before hand. jus continue to keep cleaning it && dnt do anything to further irritate it. && it'll be jus fine, I promise! good luck && I hope I've helped yu:)

Can I take my belly button piercing out to shower?

I've had my belly button piercing for almost five and a half months now and it's been great. I've taken it out several times to change it but I was very careful about sanitizing it and nothing happened after. But lately a clear liquid had been coming out of it. It has no odor and I have absolutely no pain. I know they say to do salt water soaks and all of that, which I have been doing. But I was just wondering if it would be bad to take it out while I shower, clean out the hole and put the ring back in immediately. It just seems like the best way to get rid of the clear liquid. Would that be bad?

Belly button piercing?

I've had my belly button pierced for nearly 10 years, I took out the jewellry as soon as I started gaining weight which was early on. Anyway today (I'm 38 weeks and feel like I'm about to explode) the piercing is covered in purple lines (a bit like stretch marks) and red sore looking spots/lines - maybe even scratches is the best way to describe it, it even looks like it may have bled a tiny bit where the skin is splitting. I've never heard of anyone having this problem, do some peoples split when pregnant?
I'm just so suprised it did this so quickly, it was fine - no marks at all- this morning!

I took out my infected belly button piercing?

Okay so recently I switched my belly piercing, and it got infected. It was literally the WORST pain I've felt in my life. The other night I woke up in the night and it throbbed bad to lay on my back and side, and I ended up crying in the middle of the night (keep in mind it was 3am, and I usually don't cry unless it's seriously painful or w/e, and I'm 16) anyways my mom got me to take an Advil which worked enough to get me to sleep. Like the pain was unbearable there were sharp stabbing pains all around it. Anyways so the next day was HORRIBLE for me, it hurt to breath and my mom took me straight to the doctor. As soon as he touched it I jumped and said ow, yes it hurt like a b****. And he said its definely infected. He said its best to take it out so it would heal faster, I'm on a strong antibiotic once a day and a cream 2 times a day he gave me and I soak it in sea salt. So he took it out (yes I cried again, unbearable pain). It's all cleaned up now and doesn't hurt and he said put the piercing back in In a few days. But now all I'm reading on Google is DO NOT remove the infected piercing because it will trap and cause an abscess. And yup now I'm panicking. Is this true? Is there anything I can do so that doesn't happen? The doc said it will take longer than a few days to heal. O and keep in mind that there were NO, piercers open in my area yesterday. We checked..

Can a belly button piercing close up?

It depends on 2 things. 1 - your body’s personal healing ability (some take longer than others) and 2 - how long you have had it pierced. If you had it done in the last 6 months or so, it will probably close up in a matter of days (or in some cases, hours). If you have had it for longer than that, it will obviously take longer to close up, if it ever does. Once piercings have completely healed and you take the earring, barbell etc out, there will always be some kind of mark, whether it be an actual hole or scar tissue. I had my ears pierced for 5 years, I took them out and when I put them back in 20 years later, they went in with very little difficulty. I can't say the same for belly button piercings, though, as I only had mine done 2 months ago. Hope this helps.

What could cause a bump on your belly button piercing?

The bump is caused by your body trying to reject the piercing. Having a metal belly button ring isn't natural and your body has no idea what it is. It's first reaction is to protect itself by getting rid of the piercing and healing itself. The bump is your body's reaction and it's way of closing the hole. It is completely normal and isn't a cause for concern. I never had any problems with my belly button ring, but I know some people who's body rejected the piercing and pushed the jewelry out. Keep cleaning it and twisting the piercing around so it doesn't stick to your skin as it heals. Also don't mess with it unless you are cleaning it because it could get infected and that will make it more likely for your body to reject it. If it doesn't go away after a few weeks or if it gets bigger, go back to the tattoo shop where you got it done and see what they think about it. Sometimes they will recommend a cream to put on it or they might tell you that you need to take it out and try and get it pierced again later.

Can I take out my belly button piercing out for a couple of hours after getting it done 3 days ago?

Nope.I took my first navel piercing about five months after I got it pierced in order to change it. I put the ring aside to clean it for a minute or so and when I grabbed the new bar to put in, it wouldn’t go through the top hole. The little bugger had already started to heal up. I rammed it through and it bled a truck load and then never healed properly after, so I had to take it out.Wait the proper six months, and if you can’t, don’t get it done. That sounds harsh but navel piercings are an absolute bitch to heal and if you’re gonna do it, you gotta do it properly. In my experience of piercings, of which I’ve had eleven, navel has hands down been the worst one to heal.Good luck with the healing and I hope all goes well.

What happens if you take a bellybutton piercing out before it's completely healed? (TMI)?

You're supposed to put your ring in from the bottom hole up through the top hole. Not the top hole down to the bottom. I'm not sure if thats what you were doing or not, I couldn't tell by your description but I just thought I'd let you know. And you should really keep one ring in your belly until it is completely healed. By the way it sounds, I don't think yours has completely healed yet. The pus stuff still occurs sometimes long after you've been pierced, so that's normal. But the bleeding lets you know its not completely healed yet. You won't have a greater chance of getting it infected as long as your hands and the new ring were cleaned..but your piercing just might take a tad longer to heal. Just be careful when you take your rings out. Belly piercings close up really fast! one time i was on the phone and hadnt realized my ring unscrewed and fell out. By the time I noticed it was gone (3 hours later), the bottom hole had already begun to close! And I had that piercing well over 6 months.
