oh sorry for the typo! (freudian slip?) Some good suggestions, but I'm not sure nuclear weapons would destroy ALL humanity. Waiting for the sun to burn out takes way too long. I'd like to accomplish this in my lifetime. Rabies requires exposure, so some people will no doubt escape. Could we deflect asteroids into the earth's path? Feasible?

I think it's cause they want to destroy everyone and everything and they don't think things through all the way. Maybe they think that by destroying the world, they'll still be alive and they can create a whole new world in their image. But they fail to see that when they destroy the world, they kill themselves too. :P Unless that is their intent... Honestly, all you have to do is take over the world, not destroy it. Kill those who threaten you or who don't trust you. Earn your way to the top. And there ya go. And yes, I have thought about exactly how one could take over the world, but that is classified information. >.> BQ: Oh, I would be antagonist for sure. :D Yeah, it's nice being nice and good and all, but honestly, being evil would be so freakin' awesome!! >:D
What did World War I destroy?
Yes, it destroyed the British, French, German, Austrian, Ottoman and Russian Empires. Though it was only realized in hindsight, the decline of Europe and the rise of the US began at the end of WW1. EDIT: Well, research your thesis a little more closely. Britain and France lost most of their influence in their colonies, AND their prestige (which is what empires are based on, along with racism) declined as well. The independence movements in India, South Africa; and the move away from Britain and towards the USA in Canada and Australia ALL occurred because of what happened in WW1. The post-War British and French Empires were nothing like the absolute control those countries enjoyed over their possessions prior to WW1. The Russian Empire devolved, with the loss of Finland, Poland and the Baltic States (not to mention parts of Armenia, and Georgia-which were not recaptured until well into the Communist era). Poland and Finland were never reclaimed, and the Baltic States ONLY came into the Soviet (neo-Russian Empire) orbit thanks to the Nazi-Soviet Pact of 1939. EDIT II: Two Master's Degrees one in Modern Military History, and one in International Relations with an area of concentration on Russian strategic policy from WW1 thru post WW2 as long as we're talking academics. I didn't include the Austrians simply to make it easier for person asking the question to grasp; that and the fact that the Emperor was Austrian, The Grand Duke whose assassination was the proximate cause was Austrian, and the majority of the Austro-Hungarian General Staff were: Austrian. The acceleration of the devolution of the British and French Empires DID occur as a direct result of the Great War. Even Winston Churchill (someone reluctant to admit to ANY reduction of British influence in any realm-admitted as such in "The World Crisis".) If you wish further evidence, the outright refusal of the Australian, and New Zealand Prime Ministers to commit forces to the operations in North Russia in 1919-ought to convince one. The Canadians did contribute, but withdrew after only a few months-protesting the mis-use of their volunteers. All unthinkable pre-war.
