Traffic Ticket For No Insurance

Traffic ticket help? (no proof of insurance)?

I got pulled over about a month ago for speeding going 73 in a 60. I got a speeding ticket and a no proof of insurance ticket. I don't currently have insurance because im 17 and I have to be under my parent's insurance plan or be 18 and have my own. My mom can't get insurance because she doesn't have a license and my car is in her name so we can't get insurance on it. I have to go to court on Monday and I need insurance by then or the fine will be huge. Also I only drive my car to and from work because my mom works 3 hours away so I need my own transportation but how the hell am I supposed to get insurance in this situation?

I received a traffic ticket for no insurance and no plates , will my insurane go up?.?

I went to the courthouse that issued the citation ,and was told
that the ticket was a conviction and was not allowed to go to
traffic school, I got the ticket exacly a year ago and is just coming up. another thing the vehicle lic plate # on the ticket
does not match my plates.

Got ticket for lapses insurance?

New York Vehicle and Traffic Law Section 319 subdivision 1 says that a violation of that subdivision is a "traffic infraction".

Subdivision 2 (showing an insurance card which indicates insurance that isn't really in effect) says that a violation of that subdivision is a misdemeanor.

So if it's just a ticket for no insurance and a subdivision one violation, then you have to pay a lot of money, but it's not a misdemeanor (and probably not a license suspension), but if it's a ticket for showing an insurance card for insurance that wasn't in effect and a subdivision 2 violation, then it's a misdemeanor, which has really serious consequences (including a criminal record).

I got a ticket for no insurance, but now the car is totaled. what should I do?

The fact that your car has been totaled only affects the need for insurance in the future. Obviously, without a car, you do not need insurance. However, it has absolutely no bearing on the citation you already received for driving without insurance. You will still have to attend whatever court date(s) you were assigned for that citation. When you appear in court, the judge may ask you if you have acquired insurance for your car yet?  That would be a good time to tell the judge that you no longer have the car and you no longer need insurance for it.  The judge may ask what happened to the car, so explain how the car was totaled.  If you crashed the car while driving it after getting your no-insurance citation, the judge may not have much sympathy for you.If you live in a State which requires insurance for all cars on the road, you may be facing a mandatory minimum fine amount.  In Illinois, the minimum fine for driving without insurance is $500.  That's they minimum, mind you.  The judge may decide to fine a higher amount, up to the maximum allowed by your local law.

Ticket for no proof of insurance, because of no insurance card?

I don't get it. Every-time your policy renews, your insurance company sends you a card. What you are supposed to do, is put the card plus copy of your registration in your glove department of your car. Then IF, you are pulled over, when the officer states, license, registration and proof of insurance, you have it all there to validate.

The other posters are correct. Do as they say.

good luck

Speeding ticket, "no insurance" in California?

I was driving 75 mph in a 65 mph zone in Los Angeles, CA when I was pulled over. The cop asked me for my license, registration, and proof of insurance. I had my AAA membership card with me and gave it to him, but I didn't have the little slip of paper that has my policy number on it. Apparently, that wasn't enough, and he wrote me a ticket for BOTH speeding and not having insurance.

What are my chances of getting a successful appeal? I was insured at the time of the ticket but just didn't have my policy number with me.

And what is a good estimate for the speeding ticket?

Also, I noticed that I actually handed the officer the wrong registration papers. I gave him an expired one, which showed the registered owner of the car as my dad. However, the current registered owner is me. The officer didn't notice that the registration paper I gave him was expired, and consequently wrote down the wrong information. Can I use this to my advantage in court?

IN TEXAS, can you get a no insurance ticket dismissed if you get insurance the same day as the ticket?

It would be up to the Judge. A possible deciding factor would be how long your insurance was expired. Technically, you're guilty. Getting insurance after the citation would be considered after the fact.
