Traffic Ticket Written In My Driveway- To Fight Or Not To Fight

Can you fight a driving written warning?

Last night I was driving to on a highway where I thought the speed limit was 65mph. A cop got behind me so I figured it was just a cop being a cop and trying to make me do something wrong. The wind was very strong last night and I drive a very small/light car so it was swerving a little bit as well. I finally got to my exit where the cop followed me. Then the cop went into the left lane (I was in the right again doing 65mph) for a couple of miles. Then the cop went right behind me and put their lights on. They said that on the highway I was previously on the speed limit was 55mph and I was speeding. They also said I was swerving a little bit as well. I advised the cop that I was under the impression that the speed limit was 65mph and was told no they changed it. I asked when and they said about four years ago, which confused me. I don't have any points or tickets or anything on my license so the cop gave me a written warning for "careless driving." I'm thankful I didn't get a ticket but on my way home later, I decided to check what the speed limit on that road is...and it's 65mph! I definitely wasn't going faster than 65-70mph but was given this warning for careless driving? I don't understand that especially when there were people flying past me at all times as well as someone riding the shoulder (when the cop was there!). Is there anything I can do? I like to consider myself a good, safe driver and I've gone many years without getting any type of ticket but now I have a "careless driving" warning on my record? The only reason I'm asking is because my college is right where it happened and on campus you get pulled over if you're going .5 over the speed limit and they more often then not try to give you multiple tickets at a time (I have seen and heard of it happening numerous times). Help!

Fighting a parking ticket in my driveway.?

My car was parked in my driveway, hanging over the sidewalk about 1ft. I have been parking there for 9 years and I've never had a problem. Tonight I went out to my car and found a ticket was written at at 7:30 pm. What would prompt that? I can only think that someone complained. I didn't even know that residencial parking people were working at that time! I'm thinking I can fight it, I live on a corner and they put my address as the wrong street, plus there is no street parking and all the corner houses in my neighborhood have these stupid short driveways and at 90% of them cars are parked because that is all that is available and I've never heard of anyone getting a ticket. I called two friends tonight who park on corners, they didn't get tickets so it wasn't like they were canvassing. Why don't they give a warning. We had a neighbor whose dog barked 10 hrs a day. Neighbors called the city to complain and they did nothing, and after placing a few warnings they just quit.

Window tint ticket in my driveway?

i am a 25 year old and drive a new dodge chargers srt8 here in southern california, i understand i look young and own a nice new expensive car that a cop would be suspicious. here is what happened. i was 1 block away from my home. i went threw a intersection legally, and noticed a cop in the turning lane, i went threw, front windows down and radio off, i was talking to my pregnant wife. i noticed in my rearview that the cop cut off traffic to turn down the street i went down, he was trapped behind a suv behind me, so as i pulled into my driveway he speed around the suv and hit his lights as my garage door was opening, i turned the car off in my drive way and explained i just moved in this apartment and that is why my drivers license didnt match my home address.( i got my updated drivers license yesterday with correct address)

he ran my insurance and license and everything cleared, he then said roll your windows up and said i am ticketing you for window tint and no front license.
i told him i just purchased the car and it was like that from the dealer.
he handed me the ticket and left. he circled the block 5 times every 20 minutes.

he wrote the address of the ticket as my home address, my question is, can i go to court and fight it, considering i was in my drive way? and he had no reason to stop me besides me looking young in a new car. i cant afford the $200 ticket due to me just moving into the house and recently getting married the week before, i have a kid on the way and i spent alot of money giving my wife the wedding of her dreams.
i am good on money but its a tight budget.

thank you for you help.
i have a clean record and live in southern california
inland empire to be exact.
( if you are a police officer can you please give me some insight on what i need to do to avoid a fine, please i am a student and work full time)

Can a police officer issue a traffic ticket on private property, such as a shopping mall?

I was issued a parking citation for parking in a handicapped spot in a huge mall parking lot of which ALL entrances are posted PRIVATE PROPERTY. The placard had fallen onto the dash board but the officer, couldn't or wouldn't look to see if one was present, only stating that it 'had to be hanging from the rear view mirror in plain site'. I not only stated that mine was until it fell but also told her that she was WRONG as my state also issues a larger placard that you CANNOT hang but must place on the dashboard, exactly where my hanging type had fallen! Even though I produced the required placard for the officer who was still in the next row of that same lot, she wouldn't rescind the ticket. I contested it in court, bringing my placard, photographs and my WITNESS to all of this with me. I plead my case to which the officer was asked to respond. She denied everything, stating that I never showed up while she was in that lot! My witness then spoke up, telling the judge that she had a photo of the hanging, damaged mirror on the officer' cruiser, taken that very day with me in the photo! The judge was now becoming angry at the officer's lies. He added "as that lot is posted 'PRIVATE PROPERTY' why were you there attempting to enforce public motor vehicle laws that DON'T apply to private property? (I didn't know but suspected that might help so I photographed the signs, ALL of them at every entrance.) The officer stated that they did in fact apply (a bold move on her part as she has been a proven liar up to this point). The judge stated that MOVING violations were applicable, not CIVIL infractions as parking is. My ticket was dismissed. I asked the judge to request the officer remain until I had a chance to leave as I didn't want to 'commit any infractions' in the court house parking lot while attempting to leave same. The judge asked the officer if she felt I was going to commit any and followed up with 'you have a very credible witness, if anything transpires, bring it to me NOW. I left, quietly and as rapidly and I could, spotting her in her cruiser across the lot. As luck would have it, I was parked so as to be able to enter the road in my direction of travel but she needed to circle the lot or violate the signage and travel down the wrong way to follow me. She chose neither but sat there, most likely licking her wounds knowing full well that lying to a judge was NOT a good way to promote her occupational future.

Traffic ticket for blocking intersection?

You answered your own question: the law says you can't pull out until there's space, and you pulled out when there was no space. You can fight it if you want but odds are you're going to lose.

Parking Ticket--Fight or Pay?

As an 11 year police officer I say fight it all the way. Here's why:

(1) In all criminal matters, even infractions, you are considered innocent until proven guilty. The government has the obligation to prove you guilty and you have NO obligation to prove yourself innocent.

(2) I do not believe that your parking fine will be any larger if you go to court and lose so give it a try.

(3) When you go to court, present your case to the judge. Explain your position and the potential problem with the meter. When you receive a speeding ticket and go to court, the court will require the citing officer to present several documents relating to the citation such as calibration records for their radar unit (annual and daily calibration records are often required), the officer's training, etc. Ask that the court review these documents in considering your case. Odds are good the agency will not be able to present them and the case may be dismissed. Aslo consider taking a little survey of meters in the area where you were ticketed. Check say 100 meters and count how many are out of order. You might be surprised to find 10% or more are broken at any given time. Argue that yours was one of those meters. Give the judge doubt and your case will be dismissed.

(4) If the principal is truly the issue go all they way with it and see what happens. You might even find the system really works!

Traffic ticket: incorrect violation code?

So I got my first traffic ticket, and intended to plea bargain in order to prevent any points from accumulating on my license. After reviewing the ticket, it seems the officer might have made an error, giving me a slightly more expensive offense.

In Newark I turned onto a st from one that prevented any turns (no turn sign, didn't see it). In NJ, that is statute 23:3-1

However, I was charged with "failure to turn", 39:4-124
Obviously, I did not fail to turn, instead made an illegal turned.

If I try to fight this, would I win?

Also, should I just mention that the ticket is an error, and if so, let it get dismissed, or if not, then try to plea bargain? I wouldn't like to miss the opportunity to plea bargain.

Much thanks!
