Transferring To Another State As A First Time Live In Caregiver To Kentucky

Do fathers have the same parental rights as mothers?

The idea that mothers get custody over fathers is really based on the model that 90% of split families (parents don't live together because of divorce or unmarried parents living apart) are households with mothers having primary custody of the children. But that 90% are cases where custody was undisputed. When parents break up, the father usually doesn't want to be saddled with the kids full-time. They may want to have the kids with them some of the time, but it's rare when they want primary custody. In the cases where custody is disputed by mother and father, however, fathers win full custody about 70% of the time. So it isn't true that fathers are less likely to gain custody of children. It's only true that about 90% of the time, mothers end up with the kids because custody is undisputed, or the fathers aren't even around. When custody is disputed, though, fathers get it more than two-thirds of the time.

Can you buy a car without a driver's license? If so, how?

You do not need a license to buy or register an automobile. You need a license to DRIVE an automobile. Millions of cars are owned by corporations or other types of legal non-human entities. They are purchased in the company name, registered in the company name and insured in the company name. The insurance company will usually want to know who is the primary driver which helps them figure out the premium. 16 year old male drivers cost more to insure than 36 year old male drivers assuming a clean driving record.Ownership is not a license to drive the car. Any person or entity can purchase and register an automobile but only a licensed person can legally drive the automobile. The automobile dealer will be happy to sell a car to anyone or any legal entity and the motor vehicle department will be happy to register the car provided you supply them with the items they require such as a bill of sale and proof of insurance.

Aaverage weekly cost of infant day care?

It seems to be (where I live in NC) around $150/week. Check the state's website for info on childcare centers and then call the ones you think look good for prices. Good luck!

Why aren't you allowed to leave your foster child with foster family relatives?

To give some background, this is my last question:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AvjtU1znCqg.I0GPhs30GC3sy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20100801031313AAniFZW

I do understand about all people caring for the child being appropriately screened and checked of course. But what is strange to me is that foster parents can approve sleepovers with their foster children's school friends if they feel it is safe and appropriate. So why can't we use that same judgment with our family members?

We have to put our foster daughter into respite care which we are going to hate doing, as her bio parents won't agree to her leaving the country. We do recognize the harm it may do to our FD and are going to try and handle it as well as possible. But it really irritates me that I have my own mother, my sister, a cousin and several close friends who our FD knows and loves, who would be more than happy to have her. They have even offered to do police checks and meet with the social workers etc. But because they are not already pre-approved parents it isn't allowed.

Doesn't this seem ridiculous? Obviously you wouldn't go palming off kids you were fostering every weekend, but in certain situations wouldn't it be far better for the child to stay with 'family' rather than strangers?

Is it illegal in the US to have more than one apartment leased to your name? What are the requirements to do that if it is legal?

In general it is not illegal to lease multiple apartments in your name. However, in places with scarce housing, I can imagine laws that ban or heavily tax the practice.Unless the government can make a strong public policy case for limiting each resident to one lease, in general, such a law would be violation of the landlords’ and your constitutional rights (the fifth amendment), and for you, depending on the penalty, the eight amendment. Any non federal government that limited leases among multiple states or countries would also violate the commerce clause of the constitution.Just because it is legal, the landlord is not compelled to lease to you if it feels that you would be a financial risk for holding multiple leases. Rarely, the landlord can be a government, and it would be perfectly legal for a government law to deny a lease to someone that already has one. There are no legal requirements to follow to get a second lease that differ from the first lease.
