Transgendered Schools In California Now What Say You

Do you think it's appropriate to have transgender restrooms in our public schools?

Do you think it's appropriate to have transgender restrooms in our public schools? No. Separate but equal is never equal.Transgender students should use the restrooms that are appropriate to their gender identity.Creating separate transgender restrooms would be exorbitantly expensive. You would need one transgender restroom for transgender boys and one for transgender girls.Single-stall restrooms may be appropriate in some schools, but there is no need for separate transgender restrooms.Along with other states, California has allowed trans students to use the restrooms and locker rooms appropriate their gender identity for years with no problems.

What do you think about California schools encouraging the kids to change their gender identities and hiding that information from parents?

The wording of this question seems to suggest that teachers are announcing a reward if at least half the kids in the classroom change their gender identity.“Okay, who’ll do that for a pizza party? And we can add ice cream, too, if you lie to your parents about it!”Pretty sure that’s not happening.Gender dysphoria is real, and yes, it occurs in children. It makes sense to follow the guidelines of the people who are highly educated in all aspects of children’s health and development, and whose life mission is the health and well-being of all children. This is the American Academy of Pediatrics’ position:AAP Statement in Support of Transgender Children, Adolescents and Young Adults“The AAP supports policies that are gender-affirming for children – an approach that is supported by other key professional organizations. In 2016, the AAP joined with other organizations to produce the document, "Supporting & Caring for Transgender Children," a guide for community members and allies to ensure that transgender young people are affirmed, respected, and able to thrive. "We urge all the leaders in our communities to use language that inspires and empowers children, adolescents and young adults. Our nation's future success depends on them."Don’t confuse the fully professional American Academy of Pediatrics with the much smaller conservative quasi-political group American College of Pediatricians; the latter is against same-sex marriage and adoption by same-sex couples, thinks teaching abstinence is more effective than sex education, and favors reparation therapy, which is basically torturing gay teenagers until they break. The ACP, of course, would prefer that kids with gender dysphoria just suffer through it, because nothing’s more important than people staying where bigots think they should be.The American College of Pediatricians Is an Anti-LGBT Group

Should a man legally be allowed to enter women’s restrooms and locker rooms just by saying he identifies as a woman if asked?

A man was recently caught in the girl’s locker room spying on girls in my town at a high school women’s event. When security caught him, he was smart enough to say he identified as a woman, so they had to let him go and explain to the pissed off parents and traumatized girl, they couldn’t do anything because he had every right to be there.

To add injury to insult, the parents and daughter were told if they reacted negatively towards him any more, they would be guilty of harassment.

This is just ridiculous. People should use their sex’s facility. If we are going to allow men in the women’s locker rooms, we shouldn’t call them women’s locker rooms.

Transferring colleges junior year?

You should stay put. Your list of colleges does not inspire confidence you get a better education at these new schools. For example,

"California Institute of Integral Studies" is a typical California crackpot hot-tub school of "esoteric" (ie unhinged) learning and low academic reputation

Wesleyan University is off the scale in terms of lunatic liberalism. The school features a LGBTTQQFAGPBDSM Open House for the "lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, queer, questioning, flexual, asexual, genderf**k, polyamorous, bondage/discipline, dominance/submission, sadism/masochism community".

New College of Florida is more or less a publicly-funded gay college where drug use is openly tolerated. Says one observer: "[NCF students are] utterly self absorbed and desperate for validation. In this sense the students tend to lack independence or any sort of useful or interesting creativity." In short, they are poseurs.

ADDED
"The fact that you equate homosexuality and bisexuality with BDSM and polygamy is sadly deluded and ignorant."

This is a direct quote from Wesleyan. Your argument is with them, not me, or are they also "homophobic"?

Is Trump right to consider the transgender bathroom issue a states’ rights issue?

First and foremost, there is no “bathroom problem” except in the minds of the political operatives that want to stoke the fires of cultural warriors. There has never been a substantiated case of a transgender woman attacking a cisgender woman in a bathroom—even as there have been many documented cases of cisgender woman attacking transgender women, and thousands of assault cases by cisgender men against women every single day.People who subscribe to this notion are being played. If they really cared about assaults, they would be passing laws against cisgender people, not transgender people—because that’s who the facts tell us are causing the problems.Next, this is a much larger issue than “bathrooms”. Title IX is a broad anti-discrimination clause that applies to every area of public education, from class and subject assignments to sports to administration and privacy. It says that schools may not discriminate based on sex. People who think this is about “bathrooms” are being played. But let’s get to the crux of your question: “Is this a state level problem”?Short answer: No, it is not. Why? Because Title IX, the law in question, is a Federal law. In Printz and New York v United States it was established that States do not have to enforce Federal law; they may do so if they choose, but they cannot be compelled to. It is up to the Federal government to enforce Federal laws, period. For a practical matter, in states where there is animosity toward trans people, trans people have lost any and all protections they have against discrimination. Across the border in states that have strong protections for trans people, they remain in place. Why should a kid in California be protected, but a kid in Nevada be abused? Do you think they deserve to be abused simply because they were born in the wrong state? There are times when we are 50 states, and there are times when we are one United States of America. I know this because Florida did not win World War II, and Oregon did not send people to the moon. This is Federal law, so it is quite plain that this is one of the times when we are one United States of America.

Is my teacher misgendering me on purpose?

I'm a transgender teenager, and I identify as male, so I prefer to go by "he/him/his" pronouns. We've told the school and all of my teachers know. I haven't told any of the students, because it's my choice not to tell anyone. My choir teacher acknowledges my identity and had even said that he admires how "courageous" I am. I thought it was nice and all, but I've only heard him use my correct pronoun once, and it was only after he messed it up. I think he's trying, but today he msigendered me infront of a classmate and he didn't correct himself and it seemed real easy for him to say "she" and "her". I don't want to have to confront him about it, and it's only causing confusion among people when he does it. Do you think it's on purpose? I'm not sure at this point, and I've made myself clear about what pronouns I prefer. Even if it's an accident, he's the only teacher who has a problem with it and the only one who's messed up this badly. He even said "her" in an email about me, which I think is a bit rash since you can revise an email. I live in California, so he has to call me what I want by law. I don't know if I should bring this up to anyone or see what the teacher does next. Though I'm afraid he'll end up outing me to all the students... what do I do??
