What are the best attractions we can find in Palawan, Philippines?

The two top attractions in Palawan are:El Nido - with limestone karsts and lagoons, snorkeling spots teeming with colorful fishesCoron - also has amazing views, beaches and the cleanest lake in the countryAnother option is Linapacan. Linapacan Island was voted as the #1 in Daily News Digs’ list of the world’s clearest waters. Linapacan is still undeveloped though, so tourists may find it a challenge to find a comfortable homestay and boat available for island hopping.If you feel a little adventurous you can also head over to the south of Palawan and go to Balabac. You can visit Onuk Island (a private property of a mayor) and other pristine beaches in the area.That’s me in Candaraman Island in Balabac! :) Photo credit to Hali Navarro.References:35 Clearest Waters In The World To Swim In Before You DieA guide to Balabac island hopping in Palawan - Tara lets anywhere

What is the best experience to have in the Palawan islands, Philippines?

I haven't been able to explore the whole of Palawan yet, but I can recommend something in Puerto Princesa, the capital: Underground RiverIt's a UNESCO heritage site, and voted as one of the New7Wonders of Nature: PP Underground River. Its the second longest underground river in the world, but only a portion is open to the public. Personally, the best thing about it was that you get to see a lot of stalagmites and stalactites that are shaped like flowers, humans, etc and you just can't help but feel in awe of nature. If you're a photographer, or an enthusiast, I recommend bringing a water-proof pouch to protect your camera. Also, there's only one beam per boat, so if you want to explore the cave better, bring your own flashlight. The government only allows 900 people to enter the cave per day, so better book ahead with your travel agency or hotel. I went on July which is an off-peak season and quite rainy, but there were still too many people.Island Hopping and SnorkelingThere are island hopping services offered throughout Palawan, and from what I'm told, the best are in Coron, but Puerto Princesa's isn't too bad either. The Philippines has one of the most colorful and bio-diverse marine life in the world, and Palawan is a big hot spot. It would be a big waste if you're heading to Palawan just to go the beach and/or get a tan and miss out on snorkeling. KaLui RestaurantReally good seafood with just the right ambiance to complete your tropical paradise experience. They have a lot of good dishes and they change the menu everyday. What I recommend is if you're going, might as well go with a bigger group, that way, you can sample everything on the menu in small tidbits. Again, like everything in Palawan, it's better to call ahead and reserve a table because they run out fast especially during summer. Here's their website: http://www.kaluirestaurant.com/.

Besides the Bacardi distillery, what else should I visit in Puerto Rico?

If you are San Juan you can visit:

* Old San Juan

* San Cristobal fort
* La Fortaleza (governor's mansion; oldest executive mansion in the Americas)
* Iglesia San Jose (third oldest church in the Americas)
* Pablo Casals Museum
* Condado (for shopping and nightlife)
* Plaza Las Americas (largest shopping mall in Caribbean)

Throughout the island:

* The Luis Ferre Art Museum in Ponce (largest collection of renaissance art including Rembrandts in Caribbean)
* El Yunque Rainforest (only rainforest in US Parks System)
* Rio Camuy Caves (Camuy)
* Arecibo Radio telescope (largest radio telescope in world)

* Porta Coeli Church (San German)

For the truly adventurous:

* Mona Island (natural reserve between Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic; you will need a permit to travel here)

What are the best things you can experience and go crazy about in Nepal (Kathmandu and Pokhara) and Philippines?

Thanks for your questionAs being the Nepal destination experts, my answer will relate to the crazy things in Kathmandu that you can experience in Kathmandu and Pokhara:Kathmandu: Kathmandu literally the craziest capital “ The Racial Melting Pot” collection of diverse culture, race, ethnicity. Visiting different place you will be amazed by the appearance and the language the people talk. It is a valley surrounded by hills and visiting places like Nagarkot hill village will astound you when you glimpse the highest mountain range “ The Himalayas”. It ranges from East to west (the horizon disappears within these Himalayas). This is crazy enough, how the collision of Eurasian plates have raised the land above from the grounds to form the tallest monuments in Earth.If you participate in festivals, you will see how crazy people can be . Mark My Words you will never find the crazier event than this (Especially the festivals like Indra Jatra which is celebrated in Kathmandu Valley). The man made treasures dating back to the centuries standing tall and also a World Heritage Sites is another craziest thing. There are lots more things that will make you crazy, but that will depend upon how you define craziness?Pokhara: Approx. 200 km from Kathmandu lies a tranquil city of Pokhara. Refereed to as “ City of Lakes and Mountains”. This town lays over the Seti River, can you imagine the city over the river? Isn’t that crazy? Visit the Davis Fall . The water forms an underground tunnel after reaching the bottom. This tunnel is approximately 500 feet long and runs 100 feet below ground level. Once it was a suicide point for the locals who would simply jump off the cliff and vanish inside the tunnel. However, due to strict security measure, this has been prevented.Visit Sarangkot to glimpse the first rays of the sun striking the mighty Himalayas “ The craziest part is how the Himalayas react to different rays of the sun and illuminates with different color. This is one of the excursion in Pokhara not to miss.Well for travelers these are crazy things, however sorry if I did not perceive your question.Thanks again

How much time should you spend visiting Palawan?

Thanks of A2A. I am thankful for having visited, several times, Puerto Princesa City and the “neigboring” town of Aborlan (70 kilometers south). However, I have never been to any “tourist” spot there, except for Baywalk in Puerto Princesa City.I think if you spend 3 weeks, it will still be not enough if you are an adventurous / backpacker type.Palawan can be divided in to 7 major areas:Southern Palawan (main land) - towns of Aborlan, Narra, Quezon, Batarazza. The major attraction is Tabon Cave (archeolaogical site of primitive people). Other attractions are forests, waterfalls, brown sand beaches, rice paddies, indigenous peoples, Muslim communities. Be careful with “malaria” in this area.Island of Balabac, which is already near Malaysia (Sabah).https://www.taraletsanywhere.com...3. Puerto Princesa City - major attractions are “subterrenean river” and Honda Bay (island hopping). I suggest you do your research, as this area has many tourist spots.4. Tubbataha Reef, a UNESCO site - several hours boat ride southeast of Puerto Princesa5. Norhtern Palawan (main land) - this is the area where many “tourist” go. You can spend at least 1 week here. This includes towns of El Nido, Port Barton, San Vicente and Taytay.6. Coron Island (north) - this island has direct flights / ferry from ManilaUpdated! What are some tips if you are traveling in the Philippines?

Prepare for a summer outfits or light clothes, since Philippines is a tropical country, year-round it is usually hot in here. You also have to prepare for an umbrella or jackets since it is usually raining here also even in summer months. But of course, it still depends on which month you are planning to visit here.Another thing is, Filipinos just like what others would say are very hospitable and friendly. Just give your big smile to anyone and be friendly. Try to learn some basic Filipino words like Kamusta? (How are you?) ; Mahal ko kayo (I love you); Salamat po (Thank you); and even when you are riding public transportation vehicles such as Jeepneys and Buses you can say Para po! which means to stop.Well actually it would not be hard for an english speaking foreigner to roam around the country, since most of the locals know how to communicate in English.If you also want to know what places you should visit in the country. You can read my post below: ^_^Well,however, I already got the chance to go to Palawan both in Puerto Princesa (where underground river or subterranean park is located), and also in El Nido (where you can also have a lot of water activities to experience). But despite of having travelled to Palawan twice, I still consider going back there, and visit Coron.I also already visited the Cebu (both in City and the Southern Cebu). In South Cebu you can experience or try snorkeling and encounter the whalesharks in Oslob.If you are into learning the history of a country, Cebu also has a lot of museums and very old churches that has built since 15th or 18th century. Consider also visiting Vigan and Intramuros, two of the most famous heritage sites in the country.Ilocos Province is almost the same with Cebu also wherein they can offer you a lot of heritage sites and experience different activities. In Vigan, you can also visit the pottery making.There is also loomweaving.In certain parts in Manila and even in Vigan, you can ride a Kalesa or horse carriage for more good experience while roaming around the heritage sites.

Can I visit Boracay, El Nido and Coron on a 7 day trip to Philippines?

Hi, this is a very good question because it is a common question for many travelers that want to travel to the Philippines: “Can I visit Boracay, El Nido & Coron in a 7 day Philippines trip?”Short Answer - YES, but you will be spending most of your time traveling.Boracay is being revamped to change the way it operates. It will no longer be the ‘eternal Spring Break’ spot. It is trying to be a more balanced spot for white beach fun. Also, many of the water adventures/sports have been cancelled or postponed for an undetermined time.El Nido & Coron - Beautiful water and some nice adventures. Traveling is a challenge though due to road congestion/traffic.Altenatives - Since you are asking about Boracay, then consider going to Boracay and add these other adjacent islands: Tablas Island, Caraboa Island, Sibuyan Island. These last 3 islands are great for adventure, packed with exotic & natural beauty, and they within 17 miles of each other. Not only will this save you travel time, but they are less expensive while not being ‘Tourist Traps’. How to get there? Fly from Manila to Caticlan. Then you can take a short boat ride to each of these islands - Boracay, Carabao, Tablas, Sibuyan. Do a search online and you will see that you will get a much truer experience of the Philippines and all its beauty while avoiding the traffic, expenses, tourist traps and congestion.I hope this helps.Enjoy!Greg PasdenWorld Traveler, American Expat, Co-Founder of Going Native Coffee Company
