Trouble When Sleeping

I have trouble sleeping!?

Usually the reason people can't get to sleep is because they're thinking too much. What I want you to do is stop thinking. A good technique for this is when you close your eyes, just look at the inside of your eyelids and concentrate on that. You'll see some pretty after-images and you'll then fall asleep. =)

What should I do if I am having trouble sleeping?

Are you having a difficult time going to sleep because of background noise? Have you steered clear of noise canceling devices because you worry that you’ll miss something important? The earplugs will sell for $150 when they are released to the public next spring

I have trouble sleeping at night, what should I do?

I believe I have what you call "chronic insomnia" which is sleeping poorly on most nights for a month or more. For me, it's been years and I haven't been able to figure out why I can't get into a deep state of sleep. I pretty much take cat naps.

It all started years ago, when I worked graveyard at a convienence store. I worked late, and I didn't have school until later in the evening. I went straight to school to put in some lab for my project instead of going to bed. Do you think that might have something do with it?

I have been to clinics, taking different pills, and some of the over the counter meds. They don't work! I don't know what else to do, I haven't tried Ambien CR/Lunesta or any of that cause you need a prescription.

Any help would be apperciated.

I'm having trouble sleeping at night!! HELP!?

Ok, so i used to have hooorible sleeping prob. But i was under alot of stress and slept on a terrible mattress. The minute i got a new one, ive slept like an angel. Also your meds very well might give you insomnia. Ask your doctor about that, or read up on the side effects of your meds. Another thing, try not to listen to music at night, or try downloading meditating music or sounds like the ocean. Try to take deep breathes. Also, exercise during the day helps you sleep better at night. Another thing, make sure you dont eat large meals before bed. Watch how much caffien you consume during the day or nicotine. Trying reading a boring book before bed. Stimulating you mind with literature makes your brain tired for all the learning. Try to stay away from computers or televisions at least 30min before bed. These stimulate your mind to stay awake. Try to only sleep in your bed and not hang out there or watch tv there or read or write in bed. Your mind like to keep things simple, so let it know that your bed is strictly for sleep. You can try warm milk, a small banana, or a tea specially formulated to help you fall asleep. And try to regulate your sleeping patterns. If you wake up in the night, pick up a piece of literature and sit in a chair and read till your tired.

Ive been through it as well, so i truly hope you find the solution!!
sleep tight! :)

I've been having trouble sleeping lately?

To sleep better just relax and switch off, if you can.

If you are having trouble switching off at bedtime some light exercise (for example, push ups or sit ups) at bedtime often helps you to relax, unwind and switch off and that often improves your sleep. Strenuous exercise at bedtime is likely to ruin your sleep.

Common sleep aids include warm milk, Chamomile tea, 5-HTP, Melatonin and Valerian.

Sleep enhancing foods are supposed to include turkey, cherries, oatmeal, bananas, wine and others as in http://au.search.yahoo.com/search;_ylt=A...

Teenager having trouble sleeping?

I've been an insomniac since I was 8 years old, so I know what you're talking about. Here are some things that may help:
No caffeine during the day.
A light meal at night, meaning nothing too fatty or sweet.
No snacking in the evening either.
No exercise in the evening.
Turn the lights down about an hour before you want to go to sleep.
Take a warm bath or shower.
Make sure your room isn't too warm because a cool room will help you sleep better.
Stay off the computer -- it makes you too alert.
Do something boring like watching shopping channels on TV or reading a boring book. If the book is too exciting, it may interfere with your ability to get drowsy enough to sleep.
If you keep thinking about things you have to do or want to do, make a list before you go to bed -- this will "empty" your brain so you aren't thinking about it.
You might try some Melatonin about 15 min. before you want to sleep -- it will make you just slightly drowsy and may help you get to sleep.
Lay in bed, stretch and relax, then stay in that position and close your eyes. Tell yourself that your feet are relaxed, your legs are relaxed, and work your way up your body until you've told yourself you're relaxed all over.
Close your eyes and give yourself a chance to sleep -- don't be too quick to jump up if you don't get to sleep right away.
Turn your alarm clock around so you can't see the numbers because watching the clock makes it worse.
Realize that some people need less sleep than others and maybe you're one of those. As long as you get up at the same time every morning and try to go to sleep at the same time every night, you may be able to get a routine going.

Make sure you're not taking any other medications that have a side-effect of wakefulness.

Good luck on stacking some zzzzz's.

Would I get in trouble for sleeping in my car in France?

Yes, you can sleep in your car. Just make sure you are park in a nice area or in the country. Do not stay near a big road with traffic. If you are in the country (next to an oliver trees field or wine field for exemple) with no light around you could enjoy a beautiful night under the pure summer sky and the flying stars.... Have some bread, cheese and wine and why not some french company ....
Have fun !
