2) doubling your money at 4% continuously compounded:
A = Pe^(rt)
2 = e^(0.04)(t)
ln2 = 0.04t
0.693/0.04 = t
t = 17.3 years (D is closest choice)

4) The listed answers make no sense. Labor projecttons by some trusted agency is the best answer.

5) C

6) A small towns have lower cost of living

7) D all three

8) I don't remember the rule of 72 so I'll use continuous compound interest formula:
A = Pe^(rt)
40,000 = 20,000e^(0.06t)
2 = e^(0.06t)
ln2 = 0.06t
0.693/0.06 = t
t = 11.6 years (B is closest)

11) In theory (D), but in reality it does make a difference.

I'm only 13 but i want to decide on an occupation NOW! my friends are no help at all !!!?

1.) Teacher

Teachers make very little and have to continually take college classes to advance their knowledge and be able to teach. They also get very little respect and have to put in alot of hours including summers, days students get off, and sometimes they have to grade things over holidays and weekends.

2.) Artist.

Very hard to be an artist and most don't make it. Its like being an actor, most don't do well at all. There has to be something very special about you. May I suggest getting a job at an art musem or exibit? Curator perhaps?

3.) Model.

Very hard to get accomplished, most America's Next Top Model winners don't even get into the business. Even if you are under weight you will always be told you have to weigh less.

4. Phycaitrist

Good soild job, helps alot of people, I think this might be a good choice.

5. Singer.

Once again the the actor, artist, model category. Most are not sucessful, only ones with connections or special qualities about them.

ETA:

Don't listen to those who tell you not to worry until you are older. I am a sophmore in HS and in 9th grade we we told we should already know what career we wanted and you must take HS classes related to that field. I didn't know and I had a hard time.

Art or Medical Career?

Ok, everyone should stop knocking art right NOW.

I'm a workaholic and even feeling short on money makes me anxious, but that will never change my love for art. Here's my advice:

I wanted to be anything from a photographer to a graphic designer all through high school, and then I had a "graduation crisis" where I didn't have a CLUE what to do. Art unfortunately isn't a demand in life but a luxury. It's either your broke or your Pablo Picasso...to have to be damn good to make something in the field. My uncle does well because he is a calligrapher, and is sent to Japan to teach it. He basically does graphic design by hand, it gives him a competitive edge against many in the field and calligraphy itself is a dying art. He's not a millionaire, he's that well known in this area and he only makes a middle class pay. He's writing a book and he still makes only that much. It's hard. I have been passionate for art all my life but I will never be comfortable with low pay. Plus, I've never wanted my job to be my life, art is something I do for me not my means of living and money. I actually like my job to be kind of a totally different setting from my life, which is why I'm going into either accounting or medical admin (still a finance position). I like working with money and budgets, even though math itself isn't my thing.

People will in trends lose interest in art and then years later it's a big deal. But medical? PEople don't just stop getting sick, they don't stop buying things or getting loans, etc. Take some art classes in college while majoring in medical, make art a passion for your home life, hell make it a hobby or side job if you will. I might some day go into photography as a side job. But never let the unfortunate economy future of art ruin your love for art.

Stream selection plays a major role in your carrer so before stream selection make sure to know yourself , Many people do not recognize themselvesIt's easy , just do these things :If you would like to pursue science :If you are passionate about Science & mathematics till class 10 , you are able to study these subjects any time provided , If you do not feel burdened by this topic then go with science.Its much better to choose scienc if want to be a doctor or engineer , But in India it's not a cake walk to get into india's prestigious institutions , yes I am talking about IITs/NITs or AIIMS or others Government / Public institutions , you have to study very diligently with lots of consistency.Compare your financial situation too , it matters a lot because without coaching it's difficult to crack indias toughest & highly competitive exams like JEE , NEET or others engineering & medical exams & these days coaching is quite expensive.If you would like to pursue Arts :If you have a genuine interest in social sciences , like you are enjoying history, political science, geography & literature then go with Arts.You must have a good grip on theory & Good ability to remembering things , because it covers a lot of Theoritical stuffs only.Most important point : if you would like to go for UPSC civil services (IAS, IPS,IRS,IFS) only , then Arts it for you , it will cover you UPSC syllabus in excellent manner unlike other streams.If you would like to pursue commerce :Sorry I don't have proper information regarding this stream because I was already decided to pursue either Science or Arts , but in general maths lover pic it .NOW DECIDE YOURSELFALL THE BEST !!!!!!!RegardsManish Kumar Singh | मनीष कुमार

What's the hardest year of high school...Thanks for answers too?

You think you are having a hard time this year. Just wait until your senior year. I think one of the things that you need to concentrate on is getting used to the work load. In time you will learn organization skills and prioritizing. If you feel your grades slipping then ask for some help from your teachers and also sign up for extra credit. Also judging by the type of student you are then make extra sure that you have a nice quiet area in which you can go and study. In your bedroom for example if you do not share a room with a sibling then make sure that the room is adequate for your quiet time for a few hours a night. Also don't stay up until all hours of the night studying or getting something done. If you do not get it done that night then there is the next day. Depriving yourself of sleep is probably the worst thing you can do to yourself. Also make sure that you have plenty of small snacks to have in the day, things like apple slices, orange slices, maybe some granola bars. Also I know that most high schools give you a period to do your school work or homework.
About diet, one of the best brain foods out there are things like broccoli because they give you a good source of energy and foods like fish. If you have to then take a tuna fish sandwich with you to school to eat during mid morning. Also bran is very good as a brain food and good source of energy. Good luch and keep up the good work. I can only hope that my daughters have the same enthusiasm as you do when they get into highschool. Your parents are truly blessed.

Teaching certificate is my safety net.  I can always sub.  I hate subbing it is not teaching.  I am also working for Sylvan Learning where I can teach one on one and enjoying the tutoring more than a class room. In a class room it's about schedules, testing, assemblies, lunch room duty, playground duty, getting the kids back in the groove only to be interrupted by an alert to evacuate the building, there is a bomb threat.  All in a day's work.  I hate Common Core b/c I had no training in it and have to hand out tons of paper each hour.
