Trying To Decide On My Next Degree Path

Can't decide my life/career path? So many options!?

I would seriously propose that you consider freelance journalism or writing jobs, because of its flexibility and the very high income earning potential. The main condition is that that you need to be genuinely interested in this field and then of course get some writing assignments that are really worth it. If you are a naturally talented writer and able to express yourself in a manner where you can both educate and entertain your readers, then you already have all the abilities to make a big success in journalism or even novel writing. I would recommend that you go to the website called http://freelancewritingnet.com and take a look at what is on offer, because sometimes you do need the right information for that all important kick-start.

Is a Joint Degree JD/MBA program worth it?

The short answer is that it depends on the industry/career path you are interested in. I have an LLB (U.K. equivalent to the JD in the U.S.) and an MBA. I am in banking..risk management analysis. I could do my job w/out the law degree but it makes me more marketable than your average analyst.

As for accounting -vs- law...accounting has more career opprtunities (whether in industry or consulting) and is one of the fields projected to have the highest levels of growth in coming years...in short, you may always have a job (or avenues to a job). I recommend that you do an M.S. in Accounting rather than JD unless you have your heart set on legal practise. In terms of your questions:
1)....I work at least 65hrs per week. This is typical in finance/legal, whether in industry or consulting.
2).... Starting salaries for accounting majors are $45K, while in legal, they are $35K.....both have pretty good money potential but in legal you have to remain billable whereas in accounting (billable hours are only used in consulting)...
3)......both fields generate pretty good contacts, if you wish to leverage to pursue a political career.
Good luck!

What are the pros and cons of a Bachelor's degree of business administration and communications?

Some of the pros of a Business Administration degree include:

- Being an administrator of a company
- Making good money

Some of the cons of a Business Administration degree include:

- Not being able to find a job due to the downsizing of some businesses
- Not being able to find an entry level position because most businesses want experience from someone applying for these types of positions

I hope this helps. Good luck to you and whatever you decide to do :-)
