Trying To Figure Out What Is Wrong With My Car

What's wrong with my car window?

I have a 1994 mercury grand marquis ls and i was trying to lower my back right window electronically with the automatic switch and I hear the motor working but the window will not roll down and I don't know what it could be. can someone help me?

What's wrong with my car if it starts and then shuts off? Could this be the fuel regulator or is this guy just trying to charge me a bunch of money instead of checking the fuel injectors or the fuel filter?

This post is very old and I am sure the OP already fixed the problem but will post for future readers.A car needs fuel, spark and air to work, and a lack of anyone of them (or a poor reading of any one of them) will cause the engine to run poorly or not at all. From the OPs very limited information it could be a very large number of problems. Many auto shops are very quick to try to sell the fuel injection cleaner service, while once a common issue this has actually become quite uncommon on cars made in the last 10–15 years (combination of car’s fuel system improvements and cleaner fuel/additives). Regardless it is still one of the first services suggested by both shady shops and decent ones.Mass Air Flow Sensor, Crank Position sensor (or cam position sensor), engine timing, ecu/ecm, or coil pack are all much more likely sources for this problem. Since it will start but then die it is not likely that the issue is in the fuel system itself. Also since the engine does not get a chance to get warmed up and stays in openloop mode then an O2 sensor should also not be theproblem.Believe it or not another item that is likely to cause your condition is a bad coolant temperature sensor/switch; if this is damaged it can cause the ecu/ecm to calculate too lean of an air/fuel mixture (not enough fuel) and thus cause engine to shut off due to a lack of fuel.Best thing you can do is hookup a code reader/scanner and see if there is any codes stored in the computer to help diagnose the issue.

Can You Figure Out What is Wrong With My Dad's 1988 Mustang 5.0???? PLEASE!!?

It sounds to me like there is junk in the fuel line...
when the engine starts, the fuel is going okay through the filter, then as the fuel takes rust, and other junk from sitting through the lines, it cloggs the fuel filter and chokes out the engine. Then as the fuel psi drops, the "junk" flows back with the gasoline toward the tank, and starts again when the engine starts.
Also, there is a "sock" in the fuel tank, and I have seen them get clogged...
I would do this....
bypass all the fuel system to the carb, then hook up a gas can to a fuel pump (electric), then to the carb... Try this, and if the engine runs correctly now, you will know the fuel system is dirty.
Tell your dad about my Idea, he will know what I'm talking about..
**You're a good kid, helping your dad like this, I'm sure he's proud...
Good luck

Help! My car keeps spitting out gas when I try to fill it?

I has a fuel pump replaced about 2 months ago and ever since thenm when I put gas in the car, the gas pump clicks / stops as if the car is full, even though the tank is empty. I took it back to the shop that did the work and he cant find the reason why this is happening. He even lengthened the gas hose in the tank but that didnt help. Please help me as Im wasting gasoline on myself and all over the car each time I pump the gas and Im scared of the danger!!

Can a mechanic charge $100 to diagnose my car if he can't figure out the problem?

I have a jeep wrangler that has a problem with stalling. I took it to a mechanic to get fixed. He had it at his shop for 3 days and cannot diagnose the problem but is recommending a tune up. I know there is a problem with the car... it will not start sometimes and when it does, it usually stalls. He does not know what the problem is but wants to charge me a $100 diagnostic fee. How can he charge a diagnostic fee if he didn't even diagnose the problem? Just does not seem fair...

I accidently put the wrong key in my ignition, now my car wont start..?

just remove the battery cables for about 2-3 minutes and touch both cables together ,do this with the cables disconnected from the battery and that will force it to reset the system and erase the old settings on its self,it works every time ,good luck.

How do you fix a car that shuts off randomly while you're driving?

It can be caused by an electrical issue or a fuel issue. In 1975 I worked for an American Motors dealership that was trying to find out why this was happening with almost all of their cars. I was on the team that was testing all sorts of things with the fuel system. It turned out it was a bad connection at the ignition module. When a car would hit a bump it would die. When you pulled over to the side of the road it would start right up again. This is part of what lead to the demise of the company because they were paying for wreckers for their customers and a lot of money to find out why.More information is needed to figure it out like does it easily start up again?I had a van once that did that . If you loosened the gas cap it would start. I found out the fuel pump was weak and about to fail.It could be contaminated fuel.Do you get a check engine light? That would mean there is at least one fault recorded by the computer. Some auto parts stores will read the code and tell you some of the things that could cause it.
