Two Days Straight Of Watery Diarrhea Should I Be Concerned

Two days straight of watery diarrhea, should I be concerned?

Since Monday, when I've gone to the bathroom, I haven't just had regular diarrhea. It has been completely liquid, and not at all solid (stage 7 stool). It just squirts out from my butt, almost as if I'm peeing out of it.

What concerns me though, it's been 2 days straight of this. I've had it in the past, but I don't remember it lingering like that.

I haven't taken any laxative whatsoever since about 2 weeks ago, when I was constipated. I have no idea how I can go from the stool being too hard, to being water in 2 weeks, but that's life!

Anyways, I have been eating normally, I haven't eaten or drank anything like prunes or prune juice. I do take a prescribed drug that has diarrhea as one of the side effects, but I've taken it for 3 years daily without any diarrhea, so I don't think that's the cause.

I know it's a gross question, but the diarrhea isn't really clear, it's brownish like normal poopoo, but very watery. Also, I noticed the other day when I went, it smelled exactly like the food I ate, almost as if it didn't digest properly.

And last but not least, I'm having no other symptoms, except for a lot of gas that I can hear and feel inside of me. No stomach cramps or nausea.

Sorry that's a lot to read. I know it sounds funny, but it's a very serious matter. Should I be concerned and see a doctor?

Thanks!

I've had diarrhea for four days straight. What should I do?

You have survived the diarrhoea for four days; I don’t think it will kill you any time soon. Still, drink plenty of Rice-Based Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS) or normal ORS to replenish the electrolytes. It will also relieve you of muscle and joint ache.If you have flatulence and stinky farts, you are probably suffering from an intestinal infection by E. coli or S. dysenteriae or some kind of amoeba. See the doctor and get necessary antibiotic therapy as soon as possible.DO NOT try to constipate the stool. Diarrhoea is a defensive mechanism. When you have something bad (an infectious agent or exotoxin) in your intestine, your body tries to flush it all out through diarrhoeal discharge. Diarrhoea will stop automatically when the intestine is cleansed. If you constipate the stool before the toxins or infectious bacteria is cleared, those things will impart their very damaging effects on your system, that your body is trying to prevent from happening. All you have to do is STAY ALIVE until it stops.Hope it helps.

I just had diarrhea out of nowhere, should I be concerned?

Tonight I pigged out a little and ate half of a Jersey Mike's sub (lettuce, tomato, green pepper, mayo, turkey and provolone), starbucks tea, two bottles of water and a can of coke zero all within three hours. These aren't things my body is unfamiliar with (except I never had Jersey Mike's or Starbucks tea) and it didn't seem like a lot to consume.

There was no abdominal cramping or signs of food poisoning, it was literally just an urge to hit the bathroom asap. I have been under a lot of stress lately and my gut has been reacting but it's also been clearing up a bit. Should I be concerned?

Does diarrhea cause weight loss? Is it cause for concern if it does?

Yes and yes! It's not just about having excessive bowel movements. you lose very high amounts of water and electrolytes while having diarrhea, which force you to lose weight on scale, on the other hand, may eventually get you easily dehydrated “which can be life threatening”.So what are the expected complications of being dehydrated?Cramps.Urinary and kidney problems.Seizures.Hypovolemic shock.Final thoughts:You need to see a doctor if you're having more than 3 bowel movements per day lasting for more than three days.Never use any weight-loss formulation that work by causing diarrhea, it's not a safe/smart thing to do.

I've had diarrhea for two days, what should I do?

immodium is the best in my opinion, so if its not working it's gotta be something more serious. waiting a couple days is a good idea because it should run its course. it seems like a viral infection for sure. what you need to do is drink lots of fluids and eat light things like toast, and soup..

if it doesn't go away in 2 or 3 more days go get it checked out.

feel better!

BABY GETS DIARRHEA WITH TAP WATER? PLEASE HELP?

You need to boil the water first...straight out of the tap is not safe for young babies.

It could also be the formula she is on, you need to see a second doctor if they do not think infant diarrhea is a big deal!

Diarrhea for 5 days now?

i know that this is kind of a personal question, but what does your diarrhea look like? is it very watery- like rice water? is there any blood or pus or mucus?

also, did you eat any raw shellfish before you got sick?

where do you live (not specific, just nation or state, whatever)?

this sounds like a bad case of food poisoning- good news is that food poisoning is self- limiting. you should be fine within another 2-3 days. if you aren't then go to your doctor.

campylobacter jejuni is the most likely culprit-
Enteritis: diarrhea; abdominal pain; fever
Stools range from loose, watery to dysentery-like (blood, fecal leukocytes)
2 to 4 day incubation; 5 to 8 day duration
Bacteremia in 1% of GI infections

if you are very worried about the nutrition you are missing, then stop by a doc in the box- they may be able to give you something you can keep down. other than that, you will just have to wait it out.

good choice on the gatorade, btw.

feel better soon:)

Severe urine-like diarrhea?

I'm not sure what you have (there are so many possibilities & I don't want to scare you unnecessarily) but you definitely need to see a doctor right away. Normally with a virus, you might have watery diarrhea for a couple of days, then it starts to solidify. If your poop is straight water for 4-5 days, something is seriously wrong.

The muscle cramps are due to losing too many vitamins & minerals that your body needs to function properly. Most vitamins are water soluble & since you are losing most of your water, they cannot process in your body. You can easily dehydrate & that can precipitate organ failure. This could be life threatening (and no, I'm not overreacting, this is just facts) so you need to tell your mom immediately.

At the doctor or hospital emergency room, the first thing they will probably do is give you an IV to replace a ton of lost fluids. You will feel SO much better after this IV you have no idea! They will probably run some tests and give you some anti-diarrheal medicine. Hopefully, once they get your body stabilized, you will start to improve on your own & that will be that. But if it is something more serious, you NEED to be around medical professionals who can treat you properly.

This is no joke. Please go TODAY.
