Technically the rules list that in the event a captain is not dressed only two alternates may take his place, however it is commonplace that the NHL ignore this rule.

Ok so I’m a co captain 4 other Seniors on my high school dance team. We just preform at a couple football and basketball games. As captains we lead stretching and we also choreograph the two dances. The coach seems to favor one of my co captains, let’s call her Sadie. She’s really nice and a good friend of mine. Sadie is a good dancer, but it’s unfair that she gets special. When we teach the girls a new trick the coach always asks Sadie to demonstrate it(even if somebody else can do it better)The coach brings her up to the front and says “now watch Sadie do these moves, this is goals” She tells us we should look like her when dancing. In almost all of the formations the coach Puts Sadie in the front middle. Also I am always asked to come up with choreo because nobody else does. So I come up with some I’m really proud of and show it to everyone else. But then the coach has Sadie do some 10 sec improv that is always chosen over my choreo. So I quit choreographing because it seemed pointless to waste my time working on choreo that obviously wouldn’t be used. Then they have the nerve to act all disappointed when I have nothing. When we finally finish the dance and practice the whole thing the coach tells Sadie(in front of the whole team)how Sadie looked so good and she couldn’t take her eyes off her. It felt like a solo with 30 backup dancers. It’s so obvious she favors Sadie and it hurts. Our last year starts soon and I want it to be different. Are there always favs in dance?
