Two Questions About Wearing A Skirt

Can I wear two skirts at the one time?

yeah if you think it looks nice. I have a shortish skirt I wear under a shorter dress and it looks nice. Maybe get colours that go together or blend together well.

What do you think of men wearing skirts?

Throughout history men wore some form of a dress. During the Roman Empire they broke the dress into two pieces and created the first skirt. Yes, the first skirt was worn by a man! This skirt was eventually given the name of Kilt, which is still used today. The truth is that Kilt is merely the name for one type of skirt, just as in women's skirts there are many different types. Many people try to differentiate a Kilt from a skirt, but that is not really true.

During the 1900s, men gave up skirts for pants as the first suit became the men's clothing of choice for the industrialists.

Now men are interested in bringing skirts back to their wardrobes. What do you think? You can read more about the movement at www.mensfashionfreedom.bravehost.com.

Got caught wearing skirt?

It looks like you're going to be her little sister when the two of you are home alone. Go ahead & shave your legs and wear the skirt, she's probably going to make you dress-up like sooner or later, but you got caught, so you have to pay the price and it's a fun price to pay.

Can I wear a skirt to kings island?

There is no problem for that. However, reconsider if you feel you won't be comfortable with it.

DEFINITELY wear shorts underneath. It will be extremely embarrassing when skirts fly up during the rides. Just ensure that before wearing a skirt.

And yes, there are upside-down roller coasters at Kings Island, for example, Vortex. Two questions simultaneously asked in one; what a way to Save Five Points! ...LOL

Best regards.

Can i wear a pencil skirt with stockings to macys?

i am a holiday selling support associate at macys, and so far, I have only worked two days and both time wore black pants. I know skirts have to be of certain length, or else black stocking must be worn underneath...but my question is, is a pencil skirt too tight? I know tightness is also an issue with macys, but, if i am wearing black stockings with it...am i abiding by dress code?

What's the point of a skirt? Functionally speaking, what's the advantage of women wearing a skirt (especially short ones) as opposed to just plain pants? Are skirts just aesthetic?

Like most women, we all can admit that at some point, we have grappled with embracing our body type/shape. Skirts, unlike most fashion garments, do not require extensive manipulation to obtain the proper fit. For the most part, skirts are versatile and have two key functions: accentuate and camouflage. There are skirts made specifically to highlight your waist line...for instance, there's the high-waisted skirt. At any length or style, skirts have very influential voice in the fashion industry. There are several advantages to women wearing skirts, but essentially, skirts provide women with that soft touch of femininity that no other garment can. Also, choosing the proper skirt length for an event, outing, weather conditions, or for the workplace is prudent. For example, I have skirts that I wear in the fall/winter season that I can wear with thermal leggings and boots if the weather is a bit colder.Ultimately, it is very important to wear a garment that you are most comfortable in and then maybe venture out a bit to if you want a different vibe.

Should you wear jeans and not a skirt?

NO! NEVER!

Do all women in the Coast Guard HAVE to wear skirts?

This is a good question. I want to first let you know that I'm a USMC veteran and a woman.

Next, you need to know that all formal military uniforms for women have a skirt option. It isn't just the USCG. Even in the USMC, we have uniforms with a skirt option.

Yes, I said "skirt OPTION" because for most situations you have a choice.

First of all, unless you work at a desk and your command just likes them, you won't have to wear these formal/dress uniforms 364 days of the year. You have working uniforms which are so-named because they are uniforms you wear while you're working. Even though I was stationed with a support battalion (desk work), everyone there still work working uniforms (the camouflage uniform). They're more comfortable and stand up to a beating much more than your formal/dress uniform.

Second of all, very, very, very rarely will you ever be REQUIRED to wear the skirt. It goes like this most of the time: your command will ask that you wear uniform X for an event or on a random day, like every last Friday of the month. For example, in the summer we were told for a while to wear charlies every last Friday. For women, we had the option to wear our charlies with the pants or with the skirt. It was our own choice. For the Marine Corps ball, it's the same thing: the standard (not required) option is your dress blue uniform, and women typically choose to wear the skirt bottoms with it instead of the pants bottoms...but you can totally wear the pants bottoms with it. And if you don't want to wear a uniform to the Marine Corps ball, you totally can just wear a formal dress.

Thirdly, you'll be wearing pants so often that you're likely to choose the skirt just for a change at work, ESPECIALLY in the summer to get more air flow.

I hope that answers your question. Please don't judge a branch of service based on their dress uniform!

Have you ever been required to wear a skirt?

Yes! When I was in middle school and high school I was required to wear skirts to school. I went to middle and high school in South America so the dress code was very different from the dress code in the states. My school outfit consisted of black flats calf high white socks, a mini skirt and a white polo shirt it’s the crest of the school on it. The skirt had two sizes: small and medium. We had a head master at our school that would make sure us girls at the beginning of the year had the right uniform. We would line up in he foyer of the school and we would stand straight up with our hands out our sides and she would examine us from head to toe.If a female had the wrong footwear a letter would go home that day explaining to the parents that the right footwear must be purchased or that child would not be permitted to attend classes. Some girls were already well developed and that mini skirt would turn into a micro skirt; the head master didn’t care. My senior year we had a girl that was 6′0″ and she pleaded to the head master for an alternative uniforme with no success.I am glad this was before the age of cell phone camera and twitter because when she walked she often exposed the bottom of her cheeks, which led to massive teasing and self-esteem issues. These issues were not only isolated to her as we had girls with big bottoms that had the same issue. I did not have the same issues, but from my experiences you can see I am not a fan of a mandatory dress code.
