Tyler Considers Retirement Discuss

Do you consider the NFLs decision to force players to stand during the national anthem as a violation of the First Amendment?

No. You and NFL players have a right to free speech, in public places. These ballparks don’t meet the definition of public place.Further, the existing NFL Player’s Agreement already stipulated that players and coaches, etc. must stand at attention with helmets in their left hand during the anthem. Those who kneeled already were in violation of their own agreement. You have a right to free speech. You work for Company-A. You go to your local park, get up on your soap box, and shout to the world that Company-A is a horrible company, that their management are all crooks, etc. You have a right to do that. Police won’t arrest you. You won’t be thrown in jail. But it is entirely possible that you will be fired. That isn’t a violation of your free speech rights.

How can I contact Tyler Perry to help me write a play or movie about my tumultuous life growing up?

ONE EVENING MY FRIEND AND I DECIDED TO TAKE A WALK UP THE CORNER STORE. WE  NEVER MADE IT.IT WAS DUSK DARK AND WE WERE NOT FAR FROM HOME AND NOT FAR FROM THE STORE WE WERE GOING TO. A MAN CAME UP BEHIND US AND PRESSED A GUN IN MY BACK AND SAID TO US "DON'T SAY A WORD AND DON'T TURN AROUND AND I WON'T HURT YOU. HE COVERED OUR HEADS WITH WHAT I CANNOT TELL YOU. HE TOOK US INTO THE WOODS AND TIED ME TO A TREE. BY THIS TIME IT WAS DARK AND I DID NOT KNOW WHERE HE HAD TAKEN US. I HEARD MY FRIEND START TO CRY AND HE ANGERLY TOLD HER TO BE QUIET OR GET HURT. HE TOOK HER SOMEWHERE. AFTER A SHORT WHILE I HEARD THE SOUND OF CRACKING LEAVES AND STEMS MOVING CLOSER TO ME. HE  STARTED  TUGGING AT MY CLOTHES UNTIL I WAS COMPLETELY NAKEED. HE TIED MY HANDS WITH WHAT HE USED TO TIE ME AROUND THE TREE, PUSHED ME TO THE GROUND AND RAPED ME. I BEGAN TO CRY AND I BEGGED HIM TO PLEASE DO NT HURT MY FRIEND AND HE STARTED TO BEAT ME ABOUT THE HEAD WITH THE BUT OF THE GUN. HE BEGAN TO RAPE ME OVER AGAIN. HE DID TO ME WHAT A MAN COULD POSSIBLE TO A PERSON SEXUALLY. I BEGAN TO PLEAD WITH HIM TO NOT HURT MY FRIEND AND I FINALLY  TOLD HIM HE COULD DO ANYTHING TO ME,  JUST DO NOT HURT MY FRIEND. HE BEGAN TO  BEAT ME AGAIN. HE WAS SO SO ANGFY. HE LEFT ME FOR A WHILE AND I TRIED TO FREE MYSELF, HE COULD SHOOT ME AND MY  FRIEND. I STILL TRIED TO STRUGGLE TO GET FREE. I HEARD HIM COMING BACK AGAIN THIS TIME HE WAS BREATHING HARD AND I ASKED HIM WHERE WAS MY FRIEND AND TO PLEASE DON'T HURT HER. HE PUT HIS HAND AROUND MY MOUTH AND DEMANDED ME TO OPEN MY MOUTH….

Should the NFL consider reversing the Rams victory and have The Saints go to the Super Bowl, why or why not?

No.First, bad calls happen in every sport, at every level. If you start reviewing one game result, people will bring up videos of old games and put every season, every sport, in doubt. And from now on, game results won’t be final until a panel of legal experts have reviewed them -imagine the SB champion crowned in August. Oh, by the way, if you are going to reverse this game, how about taking it back to the blatant uncalled face masks on Goff and Cooks, when the Saints were leading pretty? And second, where there’s money there is corruption. And where there’s a whole lot of money there’s a whole lot of corruption. NFL is a business; the greater New Orleans has a population of about 1.2 millions, while greater LA has some 18 millions; that’s a 15 to 1 ratio. Plus, average income in LA is roughly 30% higher, so the “real” ratio is 19.5 (say 20) to 1. And the final death blow: while most people in New Orleans is already a Saints fan, and thus there’s limited stuff you can sell them, the Rams are a second rate sports organization in LA: there is a huge untapped market there. You might say “but then what’s the point of playing?” Thing is, if you’re really better than your rival, there’s only so much refs can tilt in a game. The Saints had LA on the ropes for a long time, and just couldn’t finish them, ending with Drew’s INT in OT. Actually, if it hadn’t been for McVay’s cowardice in 4th & inches from the goal line, this whole argument could have been moot as the Rams could have taken the lead by 4 or 5, then play deep coverage to ensure the Saints could not score a TD (yet giving them a free field goal).Sorry, buddy. I guess Drew will retire without another ring.

Who do you think is the worst president: James Buchanan, Warren G. Harding, Andrew Johnson, Franklin Pierce, Millard Fillmore, William Henry Harrison, John Tyler, Ulysses S. Grant, Zachary Taylor or Donald Trump?

Both Franklin Pierce and James Buchanan are usually considered the worst Presidents. John Tyler is up there as well, considering he was the first Vice President to get in because numero uno kicked the bucket, then went and did a full 180 on what his President, William Henry Harrison, campaigned on.But there is one thing that separates all those from I consider the worst President in American history. Only one of those men came close to actively sabotaging the United States of America, and his name was Andrew Johnson. After Lincoln was assassinated, Andrew Johnson singlehandedly derailed Reconstruction, which became a massive bureaucratic trainwreck that Ulysses Grant, Rutherford Hayes, and to a lesser extent, basically every President since then has had to deal with. Johnson rushed the process of reunion with the Confederacy, allowing them to appoint former rebels to congress and continue to suppress the black former slaves, who remained in very slave-like conditions. He then turned against Congress which initially supported him, played them against each other, and accused several abolitionist Senators of plotting his assassination. After that he vetoed the Civil Rights Act of 1866. During his aborted re-election campaign, he got in arguments with hecklers and compared himself to Jesus Christ. After that he was almost impeached for firing people he didn’t like. All in all, Andrew Johnson’s complete bungling of Reconstruction resulted in Jim Crow, segregation, a general regression in rights for Blacks, and basically all the animosity left over from the American Civil War.

Charles Manson is a genius?

Many people can brainwash, if they want to. Preachers do it all the time, and so do the followers of them. If Charlie was such a genius, he wouldn't have gotten himself locked up for life, now would he?

The intelligent people are the ones who are not taken in by those who brainwash. They're smart enough to know better.Charlie also handed out hard core drugs, which would make it easy for him to brainwash his drugged up followers.

What don't you like about living in Tyler, TX?

Other commenters have mentioned good things about Tyler, but there are a few pretty disturbing things about East Texas as a whole. For example, despite having churches and other places of worship everywhere, the suicide rate in East Texas is markedly higher than the state average (back when I did a Community Needs Assessment a few years ago, the state average was 14 per 100,000—-East Texas was about 22 per 100,000).East Texas has a higher-than-average rate of cancer, especially lung cancer. We also have a markedly higher rate of Parkinson’s Disease! You won’t hear much about any of these examples, but NetHealth will back up my claims. Finally, Tyler is a great place to live and work and worship and raise children, true, but that is not the same for people of color. We also have an inordinately large number of realtors on our city council (which led to a new parking garage downtown on property owned by the mayor, and a plan to scrap fire stations in the poorer, older, blacker part of town—where fire is most likely to occur). Finally, in Smith County, we have an interesting history involving drugs and law enforcement—pretty famous in the 1970s.My point is, Tyler/Smith County and East Texas is not without blemish, both historically and presently. However, it is honestly filled with good-hearted people who almost always want to do the right thing, even when they are not sure of what that might be. If you move here, come be a neighbor and help make this place all it can be.Oh! The traffic is terrible here! I prefer driving in Houston (HOUSTON!) because Tylerites will run you over rather than letting you into traffic. You have been warned!

What does the Twenty One Pilots logo mean?

Here's what Tyler says about the bands logo:“It means Twenty One Pilots, the logo does. Why it means Twenty One Pilots, is it really goes along with one of our songs called "Kitchen Sink". The whole concept of that song is that I feel that humans are always struggling all the time when it comes to purpose, trying to figure out what their purpose is, what purpose even is, what's the point, justifying your own existence. A lot of kids and people my age struggle with "what's the point", and with the logo, what it really means is it's an encouragement. When someone asks me what the logo means to me, the logo means something to me because I made it mean something to me. That's the point. The point is that I created something that only I understand and whether or not I decide to disclose the meaning of it, that's the beginning of purpose for me. The meaning of purpose for me, is by creating something, if it be by writing lyrics, painting a picture, by expressing yourself through art if it's photography or music or theater, or whatever it is. It doesn't have to be artistic, but if you create something and only you know the meaning of it, that's the beginning of purpose for you. When you're in the room by yourself trying to decide whether to stay alive, you can tell yourself "I should probably stay alive because I'm the only one who knows the meaning of that thing", so the logo is an encouragement for people to create. That's what it means.”Source: Twenty One Pilots - Wikipedia
