Umm I Already Had My Period For A Long Time Now But My Mom Said That When Im Swimming It Closes But

Can you go swimming even if you have your period?i'm on my 4th day and it's light now?

I would say it depends where you are swimming, if it’s a public pool then someone may notice which will be hellishly embarrassing for you, it’s not all that unhygienic though – your vagina is the cleanest part of your body, menstrual blood isn’t dirty, and the pool contains chemicals to keep it hygienic against the urine, excrement, spit and various other bodily waste that would come off people while in the pool. I’d just say to wait until you’re off your period or until you can get protection, it’s hard to say if it’ll be okay for you or not as we don’t know how light your period is, it’s really a judgement call.

As for the other issues, when it comes to your mom, try having a conversation with her and see why she thinks internal menstrual products take your virginity, try explaining to her that tampons and cups aren’t people, you can’t have sex with them, and if she is worried about your hymen being in tact explain it’s nothing important, it can be broken or stretched by anything, and that you may not even have a hymen anyway. I’d also point out to her that it’s your body, not hers. It’s difficult, but having a grown-up discussion with her may help, I doubt she really thinks it will take your virginity, she is just panicking about something that she maybe doesn’t understand.

Ask your mom to buy cloth pads online, or make your own, there are lots of web sites with instructions on how to make your own, or you can just be as simple as using a strip of fabric held in place with fasteners, it doesn’t have to be fancy. Just make sure to wear shorts over the top of your swimsuit, try to use a suitable material and colour. Pattern for homemade pads - http://www.wen.org.uk/sanpro/reports/mak...

Do moms hide their period time from kids?

I remember as a little kid that I had no idea what a period was. My mom was pretty good at hiding it. Once, though, she slipped a little bit.6 year old me went to use the restroom, when, to my horror, I saw a bloody pad in the trashcan. Not knowing what it was and, to be honest, a little bit freaked out, I left the bathroom swiftly and pulled my older brother out of his room.“Hey, is this yours?” I asked him.He looked like he wanted to die. Instead of explaining to me what that was, he awkwardly said, “No,” and trudged back to his room.I then went to dad, who was in the living room. “Dad, can I show you something?”He nodded, so I pulled him over to the bathroom. “Is this yours?” I pointed at the pad.“Uh, sweetie, maybe you should ask your mother about that.” With an “oh god, why me” expression on his face, Dad retreated back into his armchair. Finally, there was only one person left to ask in the household. My mother. I found her sitting in the living room with her computer and I pulled her over to the bathroom.“Mom, is this yours?”“Uh. Yes.”“Why do you-”“Um, right now you’re too young to understand, so how about I explain it to you when you’re older?”I nodded and went back into my bedroom. My mind was racing to find an explanation. Finally, I pieced together a theory of my own.Mom was dying, which was why she was bleeding so much.Horrified, I ran into my brother and explained to him my theory. “Mom’s going to die!” I screamed. With a long suffering sigh, my brother awkwardly began explaining to me what periods were. “Uh, well, um, Mom’s not dying..”“But she’s bleeding!”He then pulled up an article from the internet about periods. “Uh, well, why don’t you read this and I’ll just…uh…leave….”I was young, so I didn’t understand some of the terminology. He ended up having to explain everything to me. I rank that as the #1 most awkward conversation I have ever had. Most people learn about periods from their mothers.Me?No, I’m special.

I have to go swimming tomorrow and I'm expecting my period.?

There can be a myriad of reasons why you did not get your second period yet. But I'm suspecting it may be because your body is still adjusting; for many girls, the menstrual cycle can be somewhat irregular the first few times. If the irregularity lasts much longer, it could be a good idea to talk to your mom about it and see if anything is up with a GP/doctor, but I doubt you're having major issues. Right now, you've only missed one menstrual cycle.

Due to the irregularity, you might not get your period tomorrow - but you can't know for sure, obviously, especially if you've been getting premenstrual symptoms lately. It's generally not a good idea to use a tampon when you have not begun menstruating, especially if you're on the younger side, since a) they are not the most comfortable thing in the world and b) it can be painful to insert/remove if you purchase the wrong kind or if you are not experienced with using tampons. Also, as someone else mentioned, you might forget that the tampon needs to be removed after 7-8 hours which can pose serious health risks.

I know the whole swim class thing is getting you down, and it is understandable. It would be best to just bring it up casually to your mom - the more casually the better not to be embarrassed about it. Or, if you are really anxious about the swim class and do not feel comfortable speaking to your mom about this, just say you do not feel well and can't go tomorrow. But IMO, it would be best to get the issue out there instead of avoiding it. It's really not as big of a deal as you might believe.

My mom won't let me swim while on my period?

I'm 15.
my mom and my friend's mom are also friends. So tomorrow, my mom, me, and my brothers are going to the park, and there's a swimming pool there. We're going with my friend, her mom, and my friend's brothers and sisters. So anyways, my mom is friends with her mom, I'm friends with her, our brothers and sisters are friends with each other, etc.
They were over yesterday and her mom told my mom that we should go swimming tuesday, since both our older brothers don't have work tomorrow. I told her I had my period, so she insisted we just don't go to the swimming pool, but our older brothers should. I felt bad and I told everyone that they can swim and I don't care, I'll just stay at home. My friend rejected and said she doesn't wanna swim alone, so we'll just not swim. Our moms believe that it's dangerous to swim on periods. I told my mom it's perfectly safe, and our health teacher taught us, I read articles online etc. I told her to even call my doctor and ask him. She started saying, "well still, it's disgusting", and I'm like, well when you're swimming your flow stops or becomes really light, so there's no blood to be disgusted of. (I can't wear a tampon or cup, I'm not allowed to open my hymen). She then said to just stop the conversation and that I'm not swimming if I'm on my period.

Is there anything I can do or say to convince her?

Even with facts she's resisting, but instead decides to stick to the fake tales she learned while growing up.

Thanks

How can i swim without a tampon during my period?

It is true, your period will stop for a while when you are swimming, but you will still damage your swim suit with a blood stain which can be totally more embarrassing! Then when you get out of the water, it usually comes right back. I would use a small panty liner in the inside of your swimsuit bottom...it should stick there and you won't have a blood stain on your swimsuit! Best of luck to you! :)

First time period stories?

haha those arent very intersting. :(
one time my friend was in math class, and she had the "perverted teacher" as girls call him. he looks at girls boobs and makes him pick up his pencils so he can either look at their butt or look down their shirts!!! eww i know. and my friend got her period in that class and she had to go to the bathroom, and he usually doesnt let student go to the bathroom because they might miss something important, and then she had to tell him that she got her period, and he looked at her boobs and was like "hm suprised you didnt start a while ago!"
i know isnt that disgusting?? hes icky!

Period at a family reunion?

I'm staying at my aunt's house for a family reunion over the holiday weekend. They have a pool and everything, so it's going to be pretty crazy.

The problem is that...ummm...my period just started, and for some reason, it's like REALLY heavy this time, and I am having horrible cramps. I wasn't supposed to start it for a week and a half, so of course, I don't have any pads with me except for like the 2 emergency ones that I keep in my purse. My mom had a hysterectomy a few years ago, so it's not like she still gets her period or anything. My aunt has a daughter that is 13, and I'm almost positive she's started having her periods already. I'm just really, really embarrassed about this. How do I get my aunt alone to tell her what's going on, and what should I say to her? I don't want my entire family to know I'm on my period!!! I also need to ask her for some pain meds, or a heat pad or something, because I feel like I am dying.!

Also, I don't use tampons. I've tried before, and I'm just really uncomfortable with them. I might try again in a few cycles, but I sure don't want to try them right now. But if I don't go swimming, isn't EVERYONE gonna know why? How do I deal with this? I'm sooo embarrassed!! :(
