Unable To Connect Local Area Connection

I can't connect my PC with WiFi but my phone is connected. What is the problem? Is it with my WiFi or my PC?

Recently I have faced the exact problem in my PC. I was also not able to figure out what exactly the problem is because WiFi was connected to my phone but my PC was unable to connect the same WiFi connection. In my device solution to this particular problem was quite unique. For this problem I followed these steps, you can try the same: -Firstly go to device manager.Select the network adaptersChoose wifi driver option and right click on the option. After that uninstall the WiFi driver rather than updating driver software. Now reboot/restart your system. And then download & install the latest WiFi driver for your PC.Restart/reboot your pc then. Now you’ll be able to connect your PC to WiFi.It helped me. It can solve your problem too. And if It doesn't work with your PC, ping me.Edit:Many people are asking me how to download the latest WiFi driver on your pc. When you will uninstall the driver of your PC, there will be no net connection obviously. So in that case you need to use your mobile connection to download the latest WiFi driver or you can also use your friend’s PC to download the latest WiFi driver.Find out your specific PC model.Search for its WiFi driver on its website. Then choose the WiFi driver and download it from there.Use a flash drive to transfer the downloaded driver file and transfer it your PC and install it.For an example I’m using HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-ab032tx laptop these days. From the Network Drivers list, I selected wireless driver, and downloaded it using my phone data connection.HP Software and Driver Downloads for HP Printers, Laptops, Desktops and More

Unable to connect to XAMPP (localhost). Connection has timed out?

You did install XAMPP by itself and not Apache and MySQL along side of it as XAMPP installs each so another install will conflict with it.

If not troubleshoot this way:

Do a Netstat -a and see what ports are opened on you computer (if you have the FIND command pipe it with "80")

eg: netstat -a -o | find "80"

if you get something like this:
TCP 0.0.0.0:80 ComputersName:0 LISTENING 4

you know your computer is listen for port 80 and the PID (program) is #4

now do a tasklist | find "4"

to know what program is listening to port 80

if it isn't XAMP apache kill it... and restart XAMP/apache and do the process until Apache is listening to port 80

without the find feature this can be done... just more searching to do... find makes it easy

Why is a lock icon on my lan connection?

A lock typically indicates that you are using a secured connection. You just said you added a wireless router with password.. So is it that your wifi card is the lock showing up?

[edit]
Ok post a screen shot of this lock you are referring to by pushing the print screen button on your keyboard, and then opening up paint and pasting it. Then save it as a jpg or png file and upload it to imageshack.us . Come back to this thread and post a link to the picture. From there it will be much easier to tell what you are talking about. If you are simply talking about a "lock" icon in the "network connections" panel it is probably that windows firewall is active on that connection.

If you are unable to connect it's more then likely you or someone else screwed around with your TCP/IP connection settings, and changed them from what they should be for most users....which of course is "Automatically Obtain an IP Address" aka DHCP.

Why am I unable to ping another computer in the same local network?

Gather information.Isolate the problem.Analyze the problem.Test a fix.Repeat.This is Troubleshooting 101. First, gather information. For each computer:IP Address:Subnet Mask:Default Gateway:Software Firewall Enabled?Antivirus or Security Software installed? Are they using the same gateway and subnet? If not, they probably won’t talk. Is there a software firewall like Windows Firewall enabled? If so, you’ll need to add an exception for Synergy (recommended) or turn off the firewall (not recommended). Ping can also be disabled on a machine, so that’s possible too. Most likely? They’re not on the same network - 192.168.1.x is not the same network as 192.168.0.x when using a /24 CIDR (a subnet that is 255.255.255.0).

Why can't i connect to any network?

Maybe its the proxy, in Network Properties > Conexionx > Uncheck/Check Proxy

Sometimes i overlook that opcion so i get limit conexion.

Another possible thing is that your router has been restarted to its default setting making it unable to send packets, i dont really know how to fix this one beacuase it changes with the router model. in that case a phone call to your bandwith dealer so u can fix it yourself.

I cannot connect to NAS connected directly to computer in my network?

I have NAS (ix2-dl) connected directly to my computer (ethernet) and my computer is connected to Local network/internet through Wifi. I have other computer also connected to same Wifi which I want to connect to NAS, but cannot... Both computers are in same Workgroup, as well as is NAS. I know that simplest way would be to connect NAS to router but that is impossible technically i my case.I cannot put on share mapped drives from NAS, while I can share internal HDD from my computer... On attached picture highlighted are NAS and my computer and circled is other computer I want to connect to NAS. Both computers 'see' each other but PC4 cannot 'see' IX2-DL...
Is there a way to enable connection of other computers to NAS attached to my computer (MOJ-ZMAJ)?

Computer dell dimension 3000 won't connect to internet?

My computer won't connect to internet. The errors that pop up are that no operation can be performed on local area connections while it has its media dissconnected this happens when I try and renew my ip in run. when I go to network connections and try an repair. It says could not finish repairing the problem because the following action cannot be completed: renewing your ip address. When I go to device manager tcp/ip it is unable to find any drivers for this device. So I was trying to find the tcp/ip driver on dells site I went to network drivers an downloaded 2 of the 3 drivers. But I'm not sure if those drivers were a replacement for the tcp/ip driver. How would I know the exact driver name for that, and if dell doesn't have it where could I find that. I have done ipconfig renew, release, all etc. An I've done netsh winsock reset, netsh int.....etc etc. I've tried to update the drivers I made sure dchp an dsn is on rca etc is on. I did a check disk. I have an ethernet connection. This is a desktop computer.I can't find my disk to do a reinstall. An our internet went out an I disconnected the modem etc. An everyones computer is working but mine. I'm hoping I don't need to replace the nic an I feel I maybe able to fix it if I can figure out how to connect the media dissconected so I can renew my ip an get the drivers for the tcp/ip. An I ran a virus scan, but I didn't get to do a malaware bytes scan. If anyone knows any ways to fix this I would appreciate your input. Thanks I hope I'm not leaving anything out.
