Unemployment Accidental Fraud And Finding A Job

Do I tell unemployment I found a job? ?

I am also collecting unemployment in NJ -- the question is, if you go for the job, will you be making LESS than you were making on unemployment?

How long have you been collecting for? If I was you, I would max out the unemployment claim, that means collect EVERY penny that is owed to you. In my case, I am making double what I would make if I were to get a job right now. So I am going to still collect unemployment.

When you go to claim your unemployment, it will have a question asking if you are working. It asks how many hours you worked, when you started, etc. so they can figure out your $. If you have any questions, go in person to the unemployment office and ask. Don't bother to call, NJ has a crap system that hangs up on you after you're on hold for 30 minutes.

Technically, they require you to keep looking for a job and let them know if you found a job so they can stop your unemployment. If you work part time in NJ, meaning I think 20 hours or less a week, you can still collect and it will stretch your unemployment over a way longer time period.

Good luck!!!

Accidental centrelink overpayment?

My income was reported correctly but turns out I accidentally underestimated my husband's income. This has left me with a $4000 centrelink debt from a 2 year period. I didn't under report on purpose and thought the payment I was receiving was correct. It was a youth allowance payment for full time student. My husband had issues finding exact numbers from his employer and we are still battling his employer for payslips through the workplace ombudsman. Centrelink has already said to me they also had a lot of difficulty getting anything from his employer. They believe the difference between what I thought he was paid, and the actual pay is what has caused the problem and said that my estimation was fairly close. I received a letter at the beginning of the year saying they were investigating, and yesterday I received the bill. I haven't been asked for an interview, and they didn't ask me any questions at all, just told me that i was overpaid and they need to recover the $4000. I've already organized a payment plan to pay it back. I am however, paranoid of getting a court summons or charged with fraud. Would I have heard already if they were looking at fraud? How likely is it that I could get charged? It was a genuine mistake. Any help would be appreciated because I'm worrying myself sick.

Employment drug screenings at cooper hospital in camden, new jersey?

my aunt works at cooper trauma, in camden new jersey. i'm about to be 21 in july and i've been unemployed and looking for a job for about a year now. she told me she could get me a job there, and i would be going around to patients and asking how they are doing, just talking to them and mentoring them. i would apparently be doing this for $11.25 an hour also. Apparently there is a drug screening for this job, but my question is would it just be one pre-employment drug screening, or would they randomly drug test me ? i'm a regular marijuana smoker and i use it for my depression and anxiety. have tried other drugs that psychologist have prescribed such as anti-depressants but they don't work for me, and neither would talking out my problems, so please don't shun me for smoking a plant. i would just like to know would i be stopping to get this job, or would i have to stop for the long run while i have this job ?

If you miss the unemployment phone interview, are you disqualified?

if they said between 10am and 1pm then 10:25am seems reasonable. try to call them back, now!!!!
since i assume you chose the phone interview option rather then doing it in writing or in person if you fail to make contact they very well could make their finding without any input from you.

What happens if the dates of employment on your resume/interviews do not match up with the dates on your background check?

It is an issue with many firms particularly MNCs in to financial data or financial technology or strategic business outsourcing. The verification could fail for Indian Companies as well.Experience date in a resume is not a big issue as you have to furnish the job application or data sheet separately while attending the selection process. If a person is unable to remember the start date and end date of work in a previous organisation (sounds strange usually), employer can find the person as irresponsible. However if you have worked across 15 organizations and now attending the interview for the Head of sales, the first company where you have started the career as a trainee may not be that much relevant and in many cases, doesn’t get that much attention. When a candidate project experience with min 6 months, ideally, accurate date of joining and exit should be provided to verification agency. Compensation data is also critical for the entire tenure. If there are major mismatches in experience history and if the candidate fails to rectify the same with substantial evidences, chances are there to fail in the employment verification process.

What happens when you have an overpayment of Unemployment?

Okay, so the ESC has noticed that two of the places my husband worked reported that he was working for them during the time he filed and claimed unemployment. One place he did claim during the time they say, but it was a temporary service, and the lady he dealt with there told him, because the job he was in was only a temporary job, and not secured, that he could continue to draw unemployment.

The other place that they said reported he was working at, he had been let go from, and that was the reason he was filing unemployment. He didn't work for that company at all when he filed unemployment.

They said that they can either find it as "fraud" and get paid back, or they can find it as not fraud, and still get paid back.

I don't see it as fraud since he did exactly as a representative from a staffing agency told him to do. *shrugs*

But how will they get payment back, when we don't have a lot of money coming in, and we have a 15 mos. old daughter. Will they garnish wages, or what?

Also, what if they find is as fraud, what could happen as punishment in NC? The lady I spoke with said that it would keep him from being able to file for unemployment for a year, but I can't seem to find anything online about it.

Im really nervous and upset about all of this....

Who's fault is it if someone accidentally deposits money in our checking account?

If we go to the bank atm and find that there is $11,736 in our checking account they we didn't expect.

We were overjoyed since before we we unemployed, had $0 and bills coming up. We withdraw all cash with a teller and used the to pay storage unit bills, buy a mini van to stay in, and to open a savings account at another bank.

Could we be in trouble if withdrew and spent what a company says is their money deposited into our bank account since the other party was behaving negligently by sending money to some else's checking account and not their own?

I accidentally ripped my paycheck, now what?

Take it to your employer and have them issue a new check.
