United Kingdom Police And Emails

Do United Kingdom police carry firearms? If not, why don't they carry firearms?

There are armed police in the UK that are always available to deal with any situation where a firearm might be necessary. Most police officers do not carry firearms, though. They have batons, CS spray and, in some cases, tasers. They don't carry firearms because it is generally thought (by the police themselves and the public) that doing so would cause more harm than good. It would encourage criminals to carry guns (it is rare for criminals to carry them at the moment - knives are regrettably common, but guns aren't). That would make deaths of police, criminals and bystanders much more frequent. There is also a risk of people being hurt by police guns through accidents and through them being stolen.

How many police stations are found in the United Kingdom?

Fewer and fewer since a Tory government decided that police are an expensive luxury. Why, sometimes a cop doesn’t arrest anyone for days at a time. Acccordingly the police budget has been slashed by a billion pounds over five years resulting in the non-recruitment of thousands of officers. By one of those uncanny coincidences, the national crime rate has risen by 12%. Meanwhile what resources are on offer go in to armed anti-terrorist sectors, vital on their day of course, but in 2016 armed British police in England, Wales and Scotland, fired their weapons just seven times on 12,400 deployments, roughly one deployment for every 4000 inhabitants.

Is the UK really a police state?

When I lived in the UK the police were the most polite police I had met. They don’t carry guns. I parked my car illegally without realising. Being an Aussie the street markings were different. As I parked a policeman came up behind me and signalled he wanted to speak to me. Very kindly he asked me not to park there, didn’t issue a ticket, then because of my accent pointed out the road markings. I had an International licence, which he had never seen before. He asked for the proof the car was mine and registered. It had a registration sticker , in Australia you can’t get a car registered without a roadworthy certificate. I said it’s got a registration sticker, can’t you just call and check the car details as the Australian police would. This was quite a while ago and to my surprise they didn’t have a system to check stolen cars which linked to registration and roadworthies. I had to cart a mountain of paperwork to the police station the next day. There were so many papers I had to ask my partner what they all meant.I don’t know whether they still have white vans checking for people without a TV licence. I had no idea you had to have a TV licence and a white van with antennas would park in the street checking for people who had the temerity to not have their TV’s registered. I thought it was police surveillance. Nope they were the bureaucracy policing the very serious business of not having a TV licence. I’m sure it’s different now.A question should be is UK tied up in so much red tape is it a more a bureaucratic state than a police state? Mountains of paperwork for absolutely everything. The UK police are affable compared to police in other parts of the world. I don’t now why the UK police are so polite. Maybe it’s because they seem proud to be police. The most watched programs on UK TV are police programs, where integrity of policing is upheld. As the police are respected in the UK they seem to show the same level of respect to their citizens, I wish police in other countries would take a leaf from the UK police. Give respect and you’ll get respect.

Why are British police so pussy?

Because in the UK we have something called democracy and even when you have citizen who are behaving disrespectfully there is no reason to deal them the same blows. The Polices mistake was not to field enough officers. The Irony being that was probably due to cuts.

How fast can a UK police car go?

depends i had an Subaru Impreza with no Police markings and two Uniformed officers sat inside, sat up my bumper in my old R32 Skyline,Also around my area is an unmarked EVO.
Just found this.
Unmarked police vehicles are also used usually on road policing duties. One popular vehicle for this use is the Skoda Octavia VRS which is chosen due to its high performance but conservative styling. Some police forces have begun using Mitsubishi Lancer Evolutions for the fastest car chases. The TVCU (Tactical Vehicle Crime Unit) in Manchester uses cars such as the Audi A3 3.2L Quattro, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, Subarau WRX Impreza and Volvo T5.[citation needed] All the TVCU's vehicles are unmarked and have very high performance.
As said i have seen an WRX version. And i wonder what enginemods they have.
