University Of Montana

UNIVERSITY OF MONTANA IS THE BEST!!!?

Montana is a fairly decent state uni. They have a good record for CPA passes, med school acceptances, and some other measures of success. But there is no getting around the fact that it is a third tier school, is basically open admissions for anyone who applies, and is way out in the middle of nowhere - of course, some people like being in the middle of nowhere, and the scenery is gorgeous. So, you can go there, get a decent education, and if you like the location, then it is the right school for you!

When you get to UM check with the pre-professional advisor and that person will advise you on what courses to take so that you can later apply and be accepted to med school and wind up as an opthalmologist.

Good luck!

Oregon state university or Montana state university?

I am from Montana and know MSU and U of M by heart.
Bozeman is a decent sized town in Montana, one of the largest ones there, and there is stuff to do.
Skiing, hiking, biking, fishing, hunting--if you are into that.
Pretty much everyone at MSU is from Montana, obviously.
No "big" city near it though, like Spokane, Seattle, Portland, etc. So, if you want to go to a big city, it will take a few hours in a car for sure.
No ocean near it though.
I would be sure to research the cities that these 2 college are in. Are you looking for a small or large population? Do you want to be close to home or further away?
Lots to consider. Good luck!

What are your thoughts on University of Montana?

I went to this venue on Sep 30, 2012 for the Pearl Jam and Mudhoney show. This was my first visit to Adams Center, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The venue is a little smaller than what I anticipated, which was a nice surprise. The size of the venue allowed for a more intimate setting, even though it was a packed house. The venue was set up for a 360 degree view of the stage, so all seats had a view of the band while they performed. I was very impressed with the ADA seating. The view I had was fantastic! Everyone at this facility was also very helpful and courteous from security to event staff. One of the perks of this venue was the free parking on weekends. It's nice to attend a show and not have to pay an extra fee to park on site. There was ample amount of parking available and traffic flowed smoothly when the show was over. Another pleasant surprise was the cost of concessions. I was able to get a decent sized soda for $4. This is good compared to some of the venues in Seattle, WA. I would definitely return to this venue for another concert in the future. I wish all venues offered this good of an experience! Just visit here University of Montana and here The University of Montana for more info.

What are the pros and cons of University of Montana?

Hey! I'm a sophmore at UM so I'll try to help you out here.

Pros:
Although its a state school, we're small compared to most other states. Good sized school. Not huge but not tiny. Easy to meet people.
Missoula is right next to the mountains and the campus is very pretty
Friendly people
Good programs for most majors. Journalism, Education, and Business are some of the best and most popular
We love our football. Griz footbal season is madness
Easy access to the outdoors. Skiing, hiking, fishing, rafting, etc... are all in easy driving distance.
Missoula is a very friendly college town. Very laid back, pretty liberal.
Campus buses run around the city so if you live off campus you can hop on the U-Dash

Cons:
Missoula only has a population of about 60,000, so some people from bigger states find it rather small and boring, although to Montana natives, its 2nd biggest city in the state.
There isn't really a whole lot of entertainment options. Sometimes there are music festivals going on downtown. During winter, its common for weekends to be spent on the ski hill and then drinking during the night. There is quite a bit of partying here, mostly because thats all there is to do some nights.
If you don't like cold and snow, it may be difficult for you here. We usually get snow by the beginning of November and it usually stays around until March.
If you do want to get away to a big city, its about 7 hours to Seattle and 7 1/2 hours to Salt Lake, but only about 3 hours to Spokane, WA.

How good is the University of Montana in mathematics?

It's been more than 40 years since I attended U of M, so my knowledge of the current curriculum is virtually nil. I was a physics major and back then the math and science programs were above average. But, there were very few foriegn students enrolled and the culture on campus was not overly supportive of students that enhanced diversity. Based on the wording of your question, my advice would be to place more of your concern on the caliber of their English department and their commitment to the succes of students whose English language skills are less than perfect. If you are passionate about mathematics then you'll likely find what you need at any university.  But the social culture on the campus you chose may have more influence on the total value of the years you invest there. Visit the campus and really get to know students that share your interests, desires, and background. The right university can change your life. The wrong school will simply offer an education. What you learn in the classroom will have less effect on your future success and happines than the social skills and growth you achieve during the time you are a college student. Pay more attention to the social culture on campus as it will have more influence and impact on the rest of your life than the academics. Good luck!

What are the best restaurants near the University of Montana – Missoula's campus?

Okay, OP, my curiosity is killing me. Why are you asking this same question over and over again with different college names? Are you on some sort of bucket list road trip to visit every college in America, and eat well while doing it? There are apps for that. Are you compiling a “best eats near colleges” dining guide? If you are, you need to do your own research and eat at these places, not crib casual and possibly biased opinions on Quora, which isn’t a restaurant review site.I hope you answer me, because I really would like to know.

What are some unique things about University of Montana Western?

Small class sizes and professors who take an interest in your continued success in and out of classes are a couple of the perks. The location itself is pretty amazing, especially for those who enjoy the outdoors; hiking, camping, blue ribbon trout fishing, a small ski hill and hot springs just up the road, plus all the on campus activities throughout the year and volunteer opportunities in the community. It is an amazing place to play, live and learn.
