University Wi-fi For Streaming For Watching Tv Shows Illegal

University wi-fi for streaming for watching tv shows illegal?

If I watch online links of my tv shows on sites like Primewire and other sites that aren't the most legal, would my university's Wifi figure that out? and could I get a fine from that? I don't download or upload, I just simply watch the links.

Will I get in trouble if I stream movies online illegally?

It is illegal for those websites/apps (like putlocker and others), to give access of all that content as they don’t have the license to do that. But what these companies do that, they do not offer you direct content, but give you various links of that particular content across the world. Now about your question, there has not been any case in the whole world, in which someone is sued just because they are streaming content from these websites. But downloading of content from these sites is totally illegal and you can get caught with that.I don’t recommend you to use these services as they can cause harm, both to your personal details and your systems security. My final piece of advice is that, if you are using these services, just be careful, don’t download anything from there, and don’t participate in any surveys as they can use your email for scam.In the end the choice is yours.

Is it true that in Germany you can get fined for illegal downloading? How do they detect what you download? Is it only P2P and file sharing, or every kind of data?

Yes it is true. I and several of my non-German colleagues have been fined. Each movie downloaded through torrent costs them 813 EUR. I didn't pay. I hired a lawyer to troll the company who sent me the warning. First my lawyer asked if they could forgive me just this time. They said no. Then my lawyer asked can i pay less. They offered another, lesser, fine. My lawyer offered something else. They refused. My lawyer wrote a letter to plead. They offered something else, etc. Anyway I told my lawyer to never agree to anything and just keep the bargaining up. It's been 2 years now and he hasn't heard from them since the last letter. I guess they gave up. They basically need to prove that you downloaded the movie and not someone else who got your wifi's password, which is a tall order. They send these fines around and hope the people being fined would be scared and pay right away. One colleague of mine got the letter and ignored it and they haven't contacted him since. After we got the letter we all started using VPN though.

Is the website Putlocker a legal and non virus website to watch movies and T.V. shows?

No, it is a spam. There are two two types of people. One who want to help others, it could be any kind of help. May be a little help but it will definitely help you. And others are want to make people fool and create traffic for their sites. They want to keep you at there page and offer false switches of download and many more false links they forward you towards their benefit.

I recently found out that my son has been streaming movies for free from a site called 123movies. Am I going to be paid a visit by the cops? He claims that since he's only streaming the movies and not downloading them it's not illegal.

You won’t get a visit from “the cops” because it’s not a crime to stream or download movies, even if they’re “illegal”. Downloading unauthorized copies of a video for personal use is, in the United States, at most civil copyright infringement (and in some situations is not even that). It’s not a crime, and so the police will not be involved. You may get sued by the movie distributor, but there won’t be any cops coming to visit (except possibly to serve you with notice of the lawsuit). In addition, a stream is not a copy under US copyright law (US copyright law doesn’t cover what are called ephemeral copies) and so if he’s just streaming, he’s not committing any offense. The site providing the stream may be, and if they’re streaming illegally, they’re the ones on the hook for civil (and possibly criminal) copyright infringement, not you or your son. It is illegal to offer a stream (or download) of copyrighted audio or audiovisual content without a license from the copyright owner; it is not an offense to receive such a stream. The problem that people who download videos get into is that the tools used for downloading them usually also offer the downloaded content for further redistribution to others who want to download it. It’s this reoffering for further download by others that creates the legal problem for the downloader, not the download itself.Keep in mind that it’s also possible that what they’re doing is legal. Perhaps they generate revenue through advertisements embedded in or displayed alongside the stream, which they use to pay the royalties. Or they have some other arrangement that allows them to offer this content legally (or quasi-legally) without collecting a fee from their customers. If that’s what they do, it’s perfectly legal. (I have no idea what 123movies business model is, nor do I care.)
