Hello, I was just watching a kids tv show (haha) and saw some 5yr olds names come across the bottom of the screen, I saw names such as Montana, Cleo, Trinity and Pypah come across the screen. Im not a fan of these names assured, but do you have any suggestions of cute girl names (or boy names) that are unique/one of a kind - that are actually cute/nice? I think Montana is quite cute, just wondering if you had any suggestions at all - cute, pretty, unique girls names! Thanks heaps.

There are a lot of perfectly acceptable names, that are not used often, but which may fall into the category of unique or unusual, until someone famous has that name when it becomes mainstream.I recall that the name Madonna was a rare and lovely name amongst Catholic families. Now, it is a reference to a very raunchy attention-grabber with questionable taste and …..Names like Norma were fashionable from the opera of the same name, but it is rarely heard now. Nora or Norah was also not a modern choice until the entertainer, Norah Jones, became famous.However, names that seem to be gimmicky, ridiculous or spelled in a difficult way that diverges from the usual rules of spelling, are probably more about the parent than the child. The child will have to wear it, with the parents encouragement and justification. The parent has a circus act to pull out and stick in front of everyone for attention.I often see questions about silly names on Quora, with numbers and non-alpha characters. If they are for a character in a story or a video game, I think every name is probably fair game.However, I do not think a child should be given a burden that is too heavy to carry. An unusual name, within a society’s acceptable range, is fine but I do not support a name that will draw ridicule and disrespect to the child, and disdain and anger towards the silly parents. Let the parents rename themselves, and leave the child in peace.
