How do you find a UPS package without a tracking number?
That can be very difficult, but certainly not impossible. Packages that, for some reason, can neither be delivered or returned to the shipper are processed as ‘overgoods’. Ask your customer service representative to contact the appropriate delivery Center (the discreet UPS unit that dispatches the delivery package car) to see if your package has been “clerked” and sent to overgoods. Just describe the contents and, even if they become separated from package itseself, we will look for it. Hard. We are a service company. It's what we do.
What should you do with a UPS package that was sent to your address and was left at your door for someone who does not live at your address?
Assuming here that it was actually addressed to your home… not delivered to the wrong address. They also often get addresses slightly wrong for friends & family members.So, first I’d suggest thinking hard about whether the name on the parcel might be someone you know or if any of your neighbors have the same surname.Secondarily, do a Google search for the sender, likewise if it’s obviously a parcel from an online seller or marketplace. Though it will likely require opening the parcel to find some sort of order number, the sender will likely be able to contact whoever purchased the item to determine the intended recipient and will likely send a prepaid label to return or redirect the parcel. If it was in complete error, this should also help to ensure records are updated and you don’t receive similar mystery parcels in the future.Lastly, if it’s not a gift, from an online merchant, etc. Simply call UPS and explain. They’ll retrieve the parcel and return it to the sender.

Is Ups supposed to leave your package with neighbours without your permission?
My UPS guy always comes in the morning when im working sometimes, he keeps leaving my packages with neighbours i dont like or know. I never asked him to leave it with them' SO is is this normal of them?
If not home, where does UPS leave the package?
Today was the first time I received my package when I wasn't home. The UPS just left it on the porch step where anyone could have taken it. I was wondering that maybe he could have dropped it off at the post office and let me retrieve it myself later, but maybe that's not possible. I don't think leaving a note would be a good idea, as burglars will know you're not home.
What is my legal responsibility if UPS delivers a package to my house though it is the wrong address?
I am a bit angry right now. I came home from work and found a honey glazed ham box on my front stoop(UPS). The people (they keep to themselves) it was addressed to live a block from me. I looked in the phone book, but they are unlisted, I checked the net, still unlisted. I called the Honey Ham co and they asked me a ton of questions and I told them I would leave the package out there. Is it my responsiblity to deliver it to the right people (I am presently on crutches right now). I thought I did the right thing but it cost me about a half an hour. If it was a letter, I would have dropped it off in their mailbox. Another neighbor told me legally I could have kept it, but that isn't right to do so. Someone eventually picked it up from my house without even a thank you.

First, check and see if anyone signed for the package and make sure a signature was, in fact, required for delivery. Also make sure no one pre-signed for it on the UPS web site (if you did that and didn't realize what you are doing, you are screwed - not knowing what you were doing is no excuse).Assuming you did not pre-sign and UPS has no signature on file, then yes, they are required to make it right. You will need to inform them the package was not delivered and let them take it from there.If there is a signature on file for the delivery, then you are going to have to prove a). it is not your signature; and b). the person who signed for the package was not authorized to receive it on your behalf.If they determine the package should not have been left, they will most likely arrange for a replacement rather than compensate you directly (but I am less sure of that).
