Urethral Burning And Dehydration .

Can burning in urethra be from dehydration?

I'm a 16 year old female, and i have an eating disorder (nothing severe i just dont eat meat or dairy so im pretty malnourished, but not like anorexia) Anyways, i went to the emergency room yesterday for symptoms of a UTI. They took a urine test and said i had no signs of infection, but i have a lot of protein in my urine and to drink TONS of water. My symptoms are, mild burning when urinating, very mild burning in urethra when not urinating, and strong smelling urine. The burning is pretty mild and doesn't even bother me much to be honest. But, can dehydration/malnutrition or protein in urine cause these symptoms?

Can burning in urethra be due to dehydration?

I have been experiencing a light burning in my urethra the past few months. Sometimes I feel it when I pee, other times I can experience it just by sitting in an odd position or randomly. It isn't a strong burn, just light. I am experiencing no other vaginal symptoms, though I have had UTI's within the past six months. This is different, it never gets to a strong sensation like when I had a UTI. I have been to the gynecologist and tested negative for STDs, pregnancy, pap smear results are normal, pelvic exam was fine. A urine culture didn't show a UTI, yet I continue to feel this. I'm thinking it could be related to hydration, I tend to get chapped lips often and muscle cramps (i.e. charley horses). I have had blood work and nothing significant shows up. They say UTIs can result from dehydration, this isn't a UTI. As such, do you think dehydration alone will cause this burning sensation? Can the urethra get dry and result in this? I am hoping a gynecologist or specialist can come across this answer or someone who has had personal experience with it that can verify. Any advice is helpful! Many thanks.

Can dehydration cause painful or burning urination?

I'm not a muslim but I too fast ,just not in the way you do. chances are you're painful urination is caused by dehydration, fast from the christian text is from the greek nephes lit no - eat, so drinking is ok unless we take a vow not to drink either (hence the dehydration). I understand muslims can eat and drink before sunrise and after sunset so make sure you drink plenty of fluids before sunrise to get you through the day. During hot summers when you perspire a lot you are even more vulnerable to the effects of dehydration so make sure you drink plenty of fluids. You say you drink a lot - are you getting your three litres a day (summer) or two litres a day (winter)? Your increased frequency of urination is becasue you are drinking all your fluids at night and nothing during the day (all I can suggest is make sure you get as much in as possible before sunrise and drink as soon after sun-set as possible) Luckily it's only a month. Good luck with your fast.

Does urethra burn after smoking pot?

Well I am 25 and stopped smoking pot when I was 16. But to my memory, I dont recall having a burning while peeing after smoking it. I think it would be more of what he did while he was high on the pot that he might not remember that is causing the pain. Or something he might not be wanting to admit.

What causes the burning in urination?

A bladder infection or urinary tract infections can also cause burning when urination.

especially the urge to go and you cannot go. Or you going many times in day and very little if any thing is cumming out.

Urethritis … caused by critters living in the urethra (Trich, Gono, Chlamydia ) or very alkaline urine from the bladder. UTI’s with Proteus are the worst. They produce ammonia and that can raise the pH. of the urine to 9–10… OUCH!!

If you mean that it hurts (burns) when you pee, the medical term for that is “burning micturition”.The most common cause for this is a UTI (urinary tract infection)- which may be anywhere along the entire path- urethra, bladder, ureter or kidneys. Sometimes the underlying cause could also be due to stones. Since you're associating it with dehydration, the simplest solution would be to consume more water.I would definitely ask you to take a Urine examination and visit a doctor if it's peristent and repeating itself!

It depends on whether you're a male or female, adult or child and how often it happens. Young adult female, sexually active, child-bearing age, with symptoms occurring not more than twice a year, most likely will have Uncomplicated Cystitis… which as the name implies is uncomplicated aka Simple UTI or urinary tract infection. This can be treated with hydration of more than 2 li of water per day. Persistence of symptoms, it is then recommended that a consultation with your health provider be done. They'll probably just request for a urinalysis then prescribe an empirical antibiotic which is taken for 1–3 days. Symptoms should then resolve in a day or two.Once you are outside those conditions, namely male, child, elderly, recurrent symptoms >2x per year, with additional symptoms like flank pain especially with the pain radiating down towards the genitals, fever with chills, and so on, then consideration of a Complicated UTI is highly suspect. The causes of Complicated UTI are numerous and would not be within the scope of this question. In this case, consultation, especially to a Urologist is recommended, since now it can potentially be life threatening due to sepsis or blood infection, and/or kidney failure.
