So yeah... I just got mugged. I just called my brother using the home phone to cancel my line of the plan so those asses don't use my phone to rack up charges. But is there anything else I should do? I don't think the police would like it very much if I called them to report this since it's so small. (Yes Philly cops are lazy bastards). I also don't know what the thieves look like. They just kinda snatched it and ran of the subway. I'm not totally upset about losing the phone. I'm just really mad that I didn't stop them. So what do you think I should do? When your pawn reaches the 8th rank (or first rank if you're playing the Black pieces) you can exchange it for any piece of its own color, except a King...which means, you can exchange it for a Queen, Rook Bishop or Knight. It can not remain a pawn, and it can not be promoted to a King. You can promote to any of those pieces, even if it would result in you having more than the "normal" number of such pieces on the board...you are allowed to have more than one Queen, or more than two Rooks, Bishops or Knights...but never two Kings. Normally, you would promote it to a Queen, but there are at least two instances in which you would choose a lesser piece: 1) Sometimes, if you promote to a Queen, it can lead to an immediate stalemate...in such a case, you might want to consider promoting it to a Rook, Knight or Bishop, whichever doesn't cause a stalemate. 2) You can choose to promote to a Knight rather than to a Queen if it results in an immediate and decisive Knight fork...remember, a Knight can attack pieces in ways that a Queen can not... Also, if promoting to a Knight results in an immediate checkmate of your opponent, you should promote to a knight, of course. Don't listen to people who tell you that you can only replace a piece that has been captured...this has never been the rule.

I got my Texas driver's license in the mail a few days ago. It's the new kind that they have with the format change. They sent a letter with it and in the letter they stated "Texas driver licenses and identification cards have undergone a format change. You now have a new option on the reverse side of your card to record an emergency contact phone number." If anyone knows how to record an phone number on the card or any other info about this please post your comments. Thanks
