Urgent Help Me With My Skoda Superb

Do the airbags of a car get deployed if another vehicle crashes into it from behind at a high speed?

No. The airbags will not get deployed if some one hits the car from the back.Airbags are deigned to keep you from hitting the dashboard or steering during sudden deceleration. In case of a rear collision, there may be acceleration instead of deceleration. For curtain airbags side sensors are used. The airbags for driver and passenger airbags are in the front, much behind the front bumpers. In many cases,if deployed unnecessarily, airbags can do more harm than good. That's why airbags are deployed based on a lot of conditions. The deceleration and the angle of impact are important factors for the conditions. In case an airbag is deployed when a vehicle is rear ended, the vehicle is directly becomes out of control as the airbag will block the drivers view and also is coming through the starting. In most cases even after rear ending the car can be controlled well. In case an airbag is deployed in a rear end hit, you are increasing the chance of another accident as you are blocking the view of the driver. Otherwise the driver can easily slow down and bring the vehicle to stop. The deployment of the airbag will increase the chances of another collision.Due to these reasons, the airbag is not deployed in rear end collisions

Maruti Vitara Brezza VDI+ Option or ZDI+ which one is a better buy?

Everything depends on your requirements. If you have no budget constraints then the ZDI+ is a complete package, no matter how many people say there are gimmicky features, I use most of them everyday. Its luxury not needed but can be enjoyed. Now personally I think the ZDI+ is not value for money, it is overpriced I got mine at 12.15 lacs. But let me be clear I bought this because my requirements were, a relatively smaller car in length(for easier parking),should be loaded with features because I actually use them!, there is no other car that matches the brezza in the compact SUV department except the ecosport (which i dislike) the rest are either lacking features/more expensive/sedans, my budget was 12 lacs and the most important thing URGENCY I had to sell off my earlier car as I was getting the best resale value for it, so I was without a car which gave me less time to research but I made the right decision, not at all unhappy its a great car with a comfy suspension built for indian roads, perfomance wise it has a noticeable turbo lag but high speed cruising is impressive. But frankly u don't need the highest version just go for a VDI(O) or ZDI, its enough. After all the car build and engine are the same, which are much more important than all those features.

Why don’t luxury car brands start mainstream brands? For example, Toyota started Lexus, so why doesn’t Mercedes or BMW start something cheaper like Toyota?

Car manufacturers frequently think about establishing sub-brands or premium brands as soon as they feel that it is impossible to cover the range of all demands of car buyers with one brand.Right now the range of Mercedes passenger cars ranges from a tiny hatchback for 30,000 USD to an S-class for 150,000 USD. So Mercedes created Smart, a brand for sub-compact microcars, they created Maybach, a brand to compete with top luxury cars like Rolls Royce. And they created AMG, a brand to compete with supercars like Ferrari.Volkswagen was stuck in the middle. So first they acquired Audi and made Audi the premium brand of VW. Then they wanted to sell cars to countries in Southern and Eastern Europe. Genuine VWs were too expensive for these target groups, so VW acquired Seat in Spain and Skoda in the Czech republic. Today Audi is so well established that it can compete with Mercedes. In order to be able to compete with companies like Rolls Royce, VW acquired Bentley. And Audi acquired Lamborghini for competing with Ferrari. Bugatti is also a VW brand. No millionaire would ever buy a three million hypercar with a VW badge on it. So they are buying Bugattis, developed by VW engineers in Wolfsburg.BMW acquired Rolls Royce to sell their luxury car technology in the top luxury segment. And they aquired Mini/Rover/Landrover to expand to other markets. Unfortunately, Rover failed and had to be shut down, and BMW sold Landrover to Ford.Actually, building up a low level brand requires far more money and efforts than to create a luxury brand. Low level brands work over high volumes, so you need big factories, huge supply chains and a large dealer network. A rather small luxury brand usually cannot afford that. Apart from that most luxury brands are not independent anymore, they have been bought by mass producers long ago.
