US Army Ranger Security Clearance?

Some points to ponder:

- a Security clearance comes in three basic models: Confidential, Secret, and Top Secret; at each level, there are various programs that may apply more involved security measures to specific types of national defense information
- security clearances, and their programs, provide appropriate levels of security and protection for different levels of classified defense information
- most members of a Ranger unit have at least a Secret-level Security Clearance - it's no big deal - it is good for ten years
- about a third of the overall Army population has at least a Secret-level clearance
- you do not "retire" after four years, you simply are discharged
- if you have a clearance through the military, then that clearance can be applied to ANY job that requires a Federal government security clearance, no matter if it is a government civilian or contractor job
- generally, a job that requires a clearance is going to pay better than one that does not

US ARMY recruiter security clearance?

Bad debts are one of the main reasons that Soldiers get rejected from recruiting duty. However, the fact that you are now in good standing and making payments may be good enough.

I would recommend that you call your local recruiting station, and talk to the Station Commander. Either he or his First Sergeant should be able to answer your question.

Note: Army Recruiters require a special clearance, separate from normal security clearances, to perform their duties. This is due to the high profile of Army Recruiting. The intent is to avoid recruiters getting themselves in trouble in the communities they serve. Also, recruiters have access to vast amounts of personal information on their applicants. Many people do not realize it, but being a recruiter is a position of great trust, and to be approved for recruiting duty speaks very highly for that person.

What is a secret security clearance in the US military?

Secret is the most common security clearance. A security clearance is not only given to the military, but to civilian government employees and contractors. A clearance is given based on the following criteria: Successful completion of a background investigation, adjudication to the level of access needed to perform the job. A clearance does not give the holder carte blance access to any information at that level. There is a 'need to know' criteria in determining who needs access to information. People going around asking for information that they don't have a need to know is a counterintelligence red flag. There are two basic levels of security clearances: Secret and Top Secret. Within the TS category there are multiple subcategories and compartments for which the holder can be given access based on their need to know (e.g., SCI) and what the job requires. You get a security clearance based on the job you are working on which requires one. If you don't have a clearance, your employer will have to sponsor you for one. You cannot apply to a clearance on your own. I know many contractor employers won't employ you for a position requiring a clearance if you don't already have one, as it is a long process (6 months to a year to complete the investigation and adjudication), so they are paying you during that time to not do your job. It's a chicken and the egg situation. Easiest way to get a clearance is through the military and government. Joining the military will get you a clearance to at least a secret. Getting a government job that requires a clearance will get you the clearance s the government will offer you the job contingent on you getting the clearance and only bring you on after you get your clearance.Hope this answers your question.

US Army Field Artillery Officer Security Clearance?

As an officer in the Field Artillery, what are the chances that an assignment would require a Top Secret clearance before being appointed ot O-4? I understand that it's based on position, but would an Artillery officer really need access to information that important? Do Battery Commanders usually require security clearances over secret?
And what about if the officer is placed in a staff position? Normally, would an artillery officer be in an S2(intel) or S6(signal) position? I believe an S3 must be ranked a Major.
I ask because I was told I wouldn't be able to receive TS because of student loans after graduation.

Thank you in advance for any helpful information.

How long does my security clearance last after i get out the army?

Security clearance's last one year from the date of last use.

IE: If you separated from the military with an active Top Secret Security clearance, then it will remain inactive for one year after you ETS.

They will just have to update it for the time your clearance was inactive.

Your clearance goes inactive, as soon you you do not use it.

People confuse that with the time a clearance last before you have to have your back ground check updated.

Clearances must be updated at specific intervals, even if they are active clearances.

Top Secret - every 5 years
Secret - every 10 years
Confidential - every 15 years.

Even on active duty, you can have a clearance go inactive, if your present duty position does not require a security clearance.

IE: Recruiter, DI, etc

If that position last more than a year, they do a partial background check again before you can regain your clearance.

How do a find my military security clearance? It's not on my DD-214.

Mine is on box 17 a. The security clearance is good for 5 years from the date it is given. Top Secret is good for 2 years. If your security clearance is revoked it will not show. Only the most up to date one will. Not all get one. It is only required if your going to be a possible witness to ‘things’. But if you're sure you had one and it is less than 5 years from discharge, you should contact the VA or records to get this cleared up. It is valuable in the civilian world if you plan on doing any contracting or working for a company that requires it. For a basic the cost is figured at 25k dollars.

Top secret security clearance in the U.S. Army question?

The process takes quite some time. Usually 6 to 12 months. During that time, you will be given an Interim Clearance.

You will need to know where you lived and what jobs you have held for the last seven years.

They are VERY interested in your current debt, relationships and ties to people of other countries.

You will also need to give about 5 to 10 people.

They will contact your family members and these people.

This builds an information web on you which they can then use to determine whether clearance should be granted or not.

Since it is so expensive, it will be done AFTER you graduate boot camp and while you start your MOS School.

If you are highlighted as high risk or that you will not be able to get a clearance, you will be dropped from the course and put into another school.

As long as you didnt lie about anything in your recruitment package, you will be find for consequences... you just may not be able to qualify for the job you wanted anymore.
