Using Ur Your In A Product Name

How did you come up with your user name?

Mine is actually an anachronism:

Brain
Ruined
Internally,
Ask
Nothing

Although, my Lumpy_Cornbread name comes from a party that got out of hand when I was a lot younger. Someday, when the Yahoo censors have the day off, I will tell it.

Can I use the name of another company's product as the name for my own company?

If the name is just an English word, then yes you can use it everywhere except in the other company’s line of business. Unless customers think they are buying from the original user of the name, in which case the confusion itself makes the use illegal. If the name is a fictitious word (Xerox, Rolodex) then no. You may not use it at all because it is a copyright infringement.Old Pennsylvania Cream Cheese made in New Holland Pennsylvania from Amish and other Anabaptist (Mennonite, River Brethren) sect sourced milk was deemed an infringement of “Philadelphia” brand cream cheese which is made in Philadelphia, New York, a smallish town on the shores of Lake Erie.

How do I start my own product line using Alibaba/AliExpress? How do I go about branding products as my own? Do people just sell them as-is?

You have 2 main options when doing this. Option 1: Get your own product manufacturedOption 2: Get a pre-made product custom labeled with your company's name Option 1 When taking  this route you should be familiar with the different types of manufacturing processes you will encounter. You can’t just contact a manufacture and say this is what I need now make it. You have to have some idea of what machines will be needed and what they are capable of. Otherwise, what you could be asking for may be impossible or too expensive to be rational. Manufactures can spot these types of people from a mile away and will sometime avoid them entirely, because dealing with inexperience importers is not worth the hassle for them. The 3 main types are:CNC - Slow and costly but very precise and durable.DIECAST - High initial investment with low per unit cost after. Lest durable not as precise.Laser Cutting - Fast precise and cheap. Almost anything up to an inch thick can be cut.Note: This method is the more costly of the two.Option 2 This route is the easiest and the most cost effective for a new/small business. To do this you will only need a company name and logo for the manufacture to put on the product and packaging. In most cases the products you will be putting your logo on will be things that aren’t exclusive to your own business. Anyone will be able to do the same and most likely already are. Competition is not bad unless the market is completely saturated. If a market is competitive but not saturated it means there is room for someone else to make a profit. However, in order to make that profit you are going to have to stand out from the rest. The best way to do this is by selling an emotion rather than the product. People are emotional beings and want to buy things that are aligned with their values and beliefs. Don’t just sell the features of your product; sell the values that created it.For example, rather than saying “We use the best materials around” say “Quality is important to us; You may even say we are perfectionists. That’s why we only use the best materials available”Now this is just the tip of the iceberg, finding a reputable supplier, Insuring your shipment, negotiating price are all just as if not more important. If you would like to learn more about creating and importing products,  check out my full course at: Alibaba ✈ Import Guide To Making Huge Margins! - Udemy

Is it trademark infringement to use a name that sounds exactly like an existing trademarked company's name, but is spelled differently and has an altogether different meaning?

There are basic rules that the examiner (or judge) is checking when evaluating the similarity between the marks:visual similarityaural similarityconceptual similarityand taking into account all these three aspects they make a decision if a markis similar (at least to some extent) with the earlier mark and if there is a likelihood of confusion for the consumers? It seems that with the recent case law, the lower similarity between the marks can still be accepted by the court as being confusingly similar to the consumers. For example, the European Union General Court in the case T-104/17 found the below indicated mark similar to some extent to the Apple logo, and ruled, that the people can be confused.Apo International Ltd. markv.Apple Inc. trademarkBut do you really feel confused by these marks? So sometimes, even if you, being a normal consumer, do not feel confused by the marks, the court or the trademark examiner might decide differently. Even if the marks are similar like only 30%, the decision can be that the marks are confusingly similar to some part of the public and the registration will be rejected or cancelled.More examples for the similar or confusing marks can be found in this e-book.Ella PatelInternational Intellectual Property Services for Your Business

What do i do to keep my first and last name from poping up online when i im people?

If you are seeing your First and Last name in your Instant Message (IM) box, you probably signed up for a Yahoo! Messenger Account using your First/Last name. They will show in the IM window when you send an IM or receive an IM from another user, unless you change it.

That does not mean the other person you are chatting with can see your First/Last name. Your Contact Details must be sent to them. If you have not sent your Contact Details to the other person you are IMing with, they will see your Yahoo! Account Name (or Nickname) and not your First/Last Name.
1). Log into Yahoo! Messenger.
2). Click on Messenger.
3). Click on My Contact Details.

~If you want to have your First Name only, delete your Last name.

~If you want to use the Nickname field, delete your First and Last name and enter the name you would like to see in the IM box in the Nickname field.

~If you want only your Account ID to show, leave all fields blank.

4). Always click Apply and OK when making any changes.

If you have previously sent your Contact Details to the other person, they will need to delete you from their list and re-add you in order for you name to change on their list.

What's the best way to crowdsource a name for my startup? What would be the best name for it?

Naming is soooo important! When I search startups at http://Unbits.com , some names are stand out. They have  3 things in commons. 1) Relative with product's function via - UpRight - UnbitsThis product name is UpRight. Check a right posture, and stand up in right position. Easy to remember and related to the function of product. 2) Change spelling from a familiar wordvia - Vybe - Unbits Yes, the right spelling is 'vibe'. But sounds similar as 'y' and 'i'. Use this kind of similar sounds to create your own word. 3) Insert number in the name for making it uniquevia - 3Doodler - UnbitsExpand your choice from alphabet to numbers. 3Doodler is an good example of number-used naming. This product name gives you a strong impression of 3D dimensional sketch, also explain the function. Moreover, I would like you suggest you to do not use too general words. (e.g. smart, bot, etc) Too many companies love their product and add those 'nice' words in naming. Unfortunately, it will decrease customers opportunity to reach ur product, website or any search result on the internet.
