Usps Lost My Package What Do I Do Now

What do i do if usps lost my package?

I've had that happen. And was told that unless I insured my package, I was out of luck.

You SHOULD contact the USPS and inform them of the problem. They will probably have someone call you and talk about it - but they usually just tell you that it's a problem, and unless there was insurance on the shipment, there is nothing they can do about it.

I'd say talk to your local post office and ask them about for the customer service number in your area. Give them a call and if you have a tracking number, get them involved. Once in a blue moon, they might actually recover the package.

USPS Lost package! what do I do?

First you need to call this number 1(800) 222-1811 to let the USPS know there is a problem and they will do what they can to fix it. Call at these times for a live operator. 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Eastern Time (6:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. CST) Monday through Friday
9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time (8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. CST) Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays (2008 Postal Holidays)
Give them as much as information as you can such as the Custom Form number and anything they ask for, make sure you have your receipt with you when you call.
As for the seller, all you can do is reassure them you are doing all you can possibly do to find out what happen to the Package. But be prepared to give them a refund if the package is lost.
Next time insure the packages you send, it would be worth it regardless which carrier you send it.

Usps lost my package, what can i do?

I sent a package to a nearby town where my husband was visiting temporarily. He never got it! Started out I took the package in and asked for express mail delivery. It was weighed and needed 6 stamps. The guy gave us a receipt and sent us on our way never saying anything about a tracking code of any kind. (I've never sent anything this way so I thought you only got one for large packages.)
It was sent end of July and said it would take 2-3 days. My mom lost the receipt so when I told them I didn't have a tracking number or receipt they told me its too bad and they refused to help me. Now that its been almost a month and (where my husband was is his cousins house and he is home now) there is still no show of the package. The items I sent equal to around $100. I called the help line and was told to call the destinations of the package and was given an out of service number. Any suggestions on what I can do?

USPS lost my package!?

I recently bought a blackberry pearl through ebay. Seller shipped and i got her confirmation number. Now, the usps people are saying it was "delivered" I called the postmaster..."delivered" means it fit in my box. well my package was 8x6x6...no way in heck that thing fit. So, No insurance. YES I KNOW. they wont do much about anything with no insurance, but isnt there a way to move around this? ITS THEIR FAULT! How could they mark this incorrectly? The box weighed almost 2 pounds! So is it possible to win a claim if they marked it "delivered" and i have documentation from usps claiming its size and weight? I sure as heck DIDNT receive the package, and it has my $200 phone in it! What can i do to ensure my package gets to me? It was scanned in my town, but both post offices claim they havent seen it...but DID scan it at my station. Is this a theft? or did they screw up and give it to someone else? IT WAS SENT PRIORITY MAIL. HELPPPP! (its been 2 days since it said it was delivered)

USPS lost my eBay package, not sure if I can get a refund or who from?

Roughly two weeks ago, I purchased an item on eBay from a top rated seller. It was due to arrive the following Wednesday. Around 7 PM on Wednesday, it was marked as having been delivered around noontime, but I had received nothing either on my doorstep or in my mailbox. I asked the eBay seller for the best course of action and then contacted USPS to open a case last Friday, and the rep said they would contact me back in one business day. I got no info on Monday, nor on Tuesday, even though I called and left a message at the local consumer affairs office. Up till here I was hoping that I could get a refund from eBay or USPS.

Here's where things get a bit complicated. On Wednesday, our regular mailman came by and I asked if he had anything, and he told me that apt #3 (the one next to mine) had had a package delivered but returned last week. I checked on eBay and was shocked to find out that I had accidentally typed in the wrong apartment number for my address. I went to my neighbor and asked if she had received a package but she said no. I then contacted USPS to get more information on the tracking, and the rep told me that the tracking info was a bit odd and seemed to be missing information and that it had "probably" been sent back to the seller. I asked the seller and they had got nothing back.

So... what do I do in this situation? It /was/ my mistake that I put in the wrong address, but if USPS had tracked the package properly it should have shown up as returned or failed delivery. Not to mention that they haven't contacted me back a week after I opened my case when they were supposed to contact me back on Monday. Isn't this their responsibility? Can I take it up with them, or should I take it up with eBay, and would it be covered under Buyer protection if USPS lost the package? Should I wait for USPS to contact me back? I really want to get this item within the next two weeks, as I'm going on vacation and I don't want to leave without it. :C

Ups lost my package.... what do I do now?

First, if it's been "sitting" somewhere for 2 days, doesn't mean that it has been "sitting there" for 2 days, just that it hasn't been tracked, OR that the tracking hasn't been updated. WAIT until the date that it is SUPPOSED to be delivered instead of sitting at the computer tracking it every inch of the way. If it doesn't reach you when it is supposed to, again, you may have to wait. Even if you filed a claim with UPS, they would make you wait at least 30 days for the claim to go through. Reason being, that occasionally things get on the wrong plane/truck. So, yeah, just stop being a back seat driver and wait for your package to be delivered. The ONLY reason that they developed "tracking" was so that people would know when to expect a package and they could plan to be home for the delivery. But God forbid that people would actually watch it go from one place to another and panic when they didn't see the package "move" one day. Go to the UPS website right now, look at when the expected delivery date it, write it down and STOP going their site!

USPS lost my package delivery and they are giving me the runaround. What do I do now?

I sold a laptop on Ebay in mid December 2010. I had delivery confirmation but failed to insure the package. An attemped delivery was made and it failed supposedely due to no such address. However, the buyer confirmed his address with me and I am sure I wrote the address given on the package. It was sent to Ozone Park New York. Then it was on it's way back to me in Chicago and suddenly turned back around and was sent to New Jersey. According to the tracking number, it has been stuck at a New Jersey sorting facility since 12/29/2010. I reported the package missing several times and was given several case numbers. USPS has said that they don't have any idea where the package is. They told me that it has been escalated and reported to the mail recovery center and I should be hearing from them shortly. It has been two weeks and I have not heard anything. The buyer is very upset...naturally and has started a paypal claim for a refund. I can't afford to lose over $500 over a USPS screw-up. What should I do? What if the buyer gets his refund and then suddenly the laptop shows up at his front door? Any suggestions will be very much appreciated.

What can I do if USPS lost my package, but their records show it was delivered?

OK. The package is shown as "delivered", but you did not receive it. Is it possible (or probable) that it could have been taken from your doorstep? Does your mail carrier usually leave packages at your door if no one is there to receive them? Is there a certain place at you address where the package should have been left? Maybe a substitute carrier left it at a location at your place where it should not have been left Have you experienced this problem before? The first thing is to rule-out these possibilities. If you're quite sure it was never delivered to your address, then the next step is to contact the USPS with your tracking information. You can go to (or call) your local Post Office, or the USPS.com website and click on the HELP button. Then, hit FIND MISSING MAIL. Follow the prompts to start your missing mail search. You may have done this already. These on-line services are convenient, but you may have better results if you make a trip to your Post Office. There could be a simple answer to the dilemma, or maybe not. The package may have been returned to the Post Office for you to pick up, but was scanned incorrectly as "delivered". It may have been"delivered" to the wrong address. Is there another street in your town that has a similar name? If someone received it by mistake, they will, most likely, eventually return it to the Post Office. By looking at the delivery information available, the Post Office can determine when and where it was delivered. There's a lot of tracking information available that can help trace the package to it's past locations. Sometimes, believe-it-or-not, the carrier can look at the information and actually remember the circumstances. In the worst case, the package was stolen, misplaced. or delivered to another address. If the tracking information shows a clear pattern of movement from the point of origin, right up to arriving at your local Post Office, and being "out for delivery", then I don't think it was lost. If it is not found, you (or the sender) could file a claim for loss, if there was insurance on it. The problem with this claim is the fact that the item was recorded as "delivered". If you suspect theft, you should contact the Postal Inspection Service, or ask your local Post Office to do it for you. Good luck!

The USPS Post Office lost my package at the Post Office! What can I do?

First Off take a deep breath and relax for a moment. First, What do you mean " Mis Sent and Mis Routed " There are a couple reasons that this could of happened, but perhaps the most common one seen is the fact that it lacked the proper address, a forgotten or mixed up digit in a zip code can mean allot. I worked for the post office and if you could see how somethings are addressed it amazes me that they ever make it to where they are intended to go, China especially. In china, outside of the larger Cities, very few persons know English, let alone write or translate it and many times the packages and the way they are addressed show it. So now you have started the wheels in motion at the post office, they will do a search for your item and trace the route your Item was sent, this may take a couple days, I would say you will receive your Package, but until then I would remain in contact with your local Post Office with 1 call a day, and remember that they are trying to find your package.

What can you do if your passport is lost with usps?

If a passport is found loose in the mail, the Post Office is required to send it to the Department of State, and not try to find who it goes to. Anyone with passport inquiries is to contact the DOS.
