Utorrent Messed Up My Laptop

UTorrent messed up my programs?

Heres the story.

I was downloading uTorrent...When I downoaded it it changed half my icons into the uTorrent symbol. So what used to be like...a Musical note (For iTunes) was a green circle. Then when I double click my icons and the only ones that work are Internet Explorer and Recycle Bin. When I click something like iTunes here is exactly what it says:

--
Open With
Choose the prgoram you want to use the open this file
File:iTunes.exe

Recommended Programs
-Internet Explorer

Other Programs
(lists my other programs)

If the program you want is not in the list or on your computer, you can look for the appropriate program on the web.

--

When I dont click the icon and go to Start -> iTunes, it says This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Set Associations control panel.

Then it doesnt work at all. I tried sending one to recycle bin then restore it, but it didn't do anything.

I also uninstalled uTorrent, nothing worked.

Please help me... it's driving me crazy...

My Laptop is messed up?

Whelp considering your telling me you cannot even boot into windows you will not be able to get to your Recovery Disk Options. I suggest booting Windows up in safe mode hopefully long enough to make your recovery disk. If all else fails, you can try using system restore witch will restore windows back to a previous state in time were everything was known to work properly.

Booting Windows Vista in safe mode:

1. Remove all floppy disks, CDs, and DVDs from your computer, and then restart your computer.

Click the Start button , click the arrow next to the Lock button , and then click Restart.

2. Do one of the following:

• If your computer has a single operating system installed, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you will need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then shutting down and restarting your computer.

• If your computer has more than one operating system, use the arrow keys to highlight the operating system you want to start in safe mode, and then press F8.

3. On the Advanced Boot Options screen, use the arrow keys to highlight the safe mode option you want, and then press ENTER. For more information about options, see Advanced startup options (including safe mode).

4. Log on to your computer with a user account that has administrator rights.

When your computer is in safe mode, you'll see the words Safe Mode in the corners of the display. To exit safe mode, restart your computer and let Windows start normally.

System Restore:

Open System Restore by clicking the Start button , clicking All Programs, clicking Accessories, clicking System Tools, and then clicking System Restore.‌ If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

My laptop keyboard is messed up, help!?

I'm not sure what happened to it. No damage has been done to it, the keyboard is perfectly clean, the keyboard itself has no problems. Until I found out that my arrow keys don't do anything, plus when I try to close internet explorer with my mouse, it won't work. It will only make that 'ding' sound and still say. I tried pressing Alt + ctrl + dlt at the same time, but like I said, my keyboard won't work. The only things that work are the letters, and caps. But the things like F1, F2, F3, etc, shift, ctrl, alt, delete, arrow keys, they don't work and I don't know why.

Is it possible that my keyboard is locked? I also tried restarting and shutting down my computer, but I pressed it and nothing happened! I repeated it over and over again but nothing.
By the way, I have a Compaq laptop.

Will uTorrent **** up my computer?

OK, so basically, my laptop got major messed up about 2 months ago. About 2 months before that, I downloaded uTorrent, and I (as well as a couple of computer technicians) suspected that the cause of my relatively (bout 6 months old) new laptop was performing so bad because of uTorrent. The computer itself didn't seem to be too harmed, but my internet connection went wayyyyyyyy down. It would take me like 3 minutes just for google to load. It basically got to the point where I couldnt use it because it was so slow.
well, anyways, 2 weeks ago I noticed a piece that seemed a little loose on the laptop so I sent it in to sony to get it repaired. When I got it back, I found my entire hard drive to be gone, and when I called them up asking what the %*#$ happened, they said my old hard drive was corrupted or something, and that they had installed a new one.
Well, now my computer is working well again, but I realllllllllly want to download uTorrent so I can get my torrent fix >.<. I usually only download torrents by trusted "authors" such as aXXo, etc. So I'm basically wondering if downloading uTorrent will **** up my computer again. Shouldn't I be fine if I just downloaded trused torrents by those such as aXXo ,FGM, etc? Or will just downloading uTorrent itself slow my computer down again?

I put a pretty strong magnet on my laptop, now it's all messed up!?

Magnets, particularly strong magnets, can affect the hard drive of the computer, and fortunately, that's the only component that can be afffected. That being said, the magnet can change data on the hard drive, and the error you're seeing is most likely because some data required by your system was corrupted. No hardware was damaged, but it is likely that some or all of your data has been lost. The solution for this problem would be to reinstall your operating system, but this will result in a loss of all of your data. If you want to attempt to save any of your files, you'll want to take the computer to a service center before you reinstall your OS.
