What American football position should I play for JV High School? I'm 5'10", 160lbs, a freshman, and play as a keeper in soccer. Why not just stick to being a goalkeeper in Association Football?Ask why would you need to change codes. If it’s because there’s more opportunities at college/university, I’d say that there are 249 offering American Football and 205 offering Association Football for males. That’s not a huge difference. The number offering the Association game can only really increase for males as there are 332 offering it for females. But I can’t help with American Football positions. Don’t give up on being a goalie because it isn’t popular.

Help! I am scared to play football in front of a crowd?

I want to play high school football freshman year but I am afraid but I am afraid because there are hundreds of people at those games. How do I get over my fear?

Why did you start playing football?

Upto age of 13 I was a healthy boy I was very slow. My friends were more atheletic then me and also I was an average student and I always use to get ignored by my teachers and friends. One day when my friends were playing football I tried to kick the ball but was unable to do that, then I saw all of the boys and girls were laughing I was completely broken but that was not the ending. I tried next day but my friends refused to take me in their team at that moment I felt like I was made for nothing I was sad but I promised myself that I will learn how to play football by myself. From next day I used to go to school ground and see my seniors playing football and learn. And today I am a good player I am a midfielder and I am still learning I made a video and posted on instagram also.0:00-0:10Today I have a dream to play for Indian football team and for FC Barcelona and one day I will achieve it.Peace✌✌⚽⚽

If I'm not a football player would I get a girl in college?

If you attend an average size college or University in the United States it probably has between 6,000 – 8,000 students, and you can quadruple (and more) these figures for a large University. Females account for slightly over 50% of all college enrollments in the United States. Considering the total number of football players on varsity and junior varsity squads, I would guess those 60 players are given 3,000 – 4,000 females each based on your assertion? Every one of those players couldn’t possibly date fast enough to get through the approximate 58.88 girls (300 for a large University) each is guaranteed by being a football player. So I guess you’re in good shape with the leftovers and cast-offs’ the football players leave behind.                         How can you compete with these guys?COME ON… Are you kidding? In the real world, females are just as interested, if not more so, in computer science and other majors as football players. Do exactly what Lexa Michaelides says, treat all females with respect and you are likely to find a few that are willing to date you. You have to get rid of the mindset that you have, that in and of itself will negate your chances of dating, as negativism is very easy to detect and no one wants to date a person that doesn’t have self-confidence.

Can I Start JV football as a Freshman?

yea man. sounds like your pretty good. If your awareness is not the best, you'd probably play better on defense or simply on the line as a guard, tackle or center.

People make it on Varsity their freshmen year depending on how good they are compared to the rest of the team. But yea, JV might be a good place to start for you. Most freshmen who do make varsity ride the bench. And I'd rather be playing then sittin.

And you've been playing for many years. So there is a lot of history there. I say go for it and try to increase your awareness. If it is one thing that coaches hate, is not paying attention. you don't want to miss a fumble, give your opponent an open shot to your QB, miss a pass, etc.
But overall...I think you'll do fine. don't sweat it.

Im scared to hit in football?

Dont quit man...

Look, man, back in HS I played Middleline Backer and Runningback... sophmore year I was the new guy on Varsity... I had a few fears about hitting as well... you need to do hitting drills durring the summer dude... like balls out... leave it all out on the practice field until you hit shyness goes away... just practice...

When your hitting you need to run through your target, yo.... pretend no one is there and run straight through him... as long as your low enough your gonna do damage... your a line backer... so, as you in the brotherhood, I'll tell you, you have to be able to dish punishment without fear...

NEVER QUIT...

How do college football scouts find out about high school players?

Talk to your coach, he can help. Scouts talk to HS coaches all the time to find out their good players, and the good players they have faced. If you are not getting any interest, send in a highlight tape to schools you think you could play for.
Last but not least, work on your 40 time. It's very difficult to go from a 4.5 to 4.3 but it has been done. It isn't so hard to go from a 5.5 to a 5 flat. With a name like Bubba, I am thinking you probably eat to much, or at least are not in very good shape. Run run run..Play basketball in the winter, and track in the spring(if your state doesn't have spring football)

I am scared to try out for Jv football?

Being afraid is normal when you are first starting out.. I think playing football would be a wonderful undertaking for any young man.. It helps you build character, helps you develop a good work ethic, gives you a chance to relate to and work with others in a team atmosphere and gives you something productive to do with yourself... Your coaches will teach you the proper ways of playing your position which wont guarantee your being injury free but will help in getting you conditioned so your chances decrease... I would say that you should go for it.. Just work hard and listen to what your coaches are teaching you and you should be fine... Once you get involved in the practices and your coach is able to evaluate you, he will determine what position is best for you to play.... Good luck....
