What type of knee injuries do you need crutches for?

You busted it. Is it all swollen up? Get a God damn doctor, kid. Greg.

Remedies for sore arms from crutches?

There's a product called "Glide", it comes in a container that looks like a deoderant stick....applying that to the chafed areas will help while using the crutches. Another thing is to add additional cushioning to the crutches, but not so much that your arms will be to far from your body.

I was on crutches for 6 months after an accident...I really empathize with you..best of luck. Also, be careful entering and exiting buildings in wet weather...you're crutches can hit tile floors and swing out from you.

I sprained my ankle, do I need to use crutches?

I can't advise you, but my experience might give you some useful info. I severely sprained my ankle on a Saturday night and I had no insurance. I did not go to the hospital. I did not want to go to urgent care either because I was broke and I figured xrays and crutches would be very costly. I comforted myself knowing that I could probably get some cheap crutches at the thrift store on Monday. BUT I own a horse, so Sunday morning I had to walk to his corral, about 60 feet, in order to feed him then walk back to the house (2x, breakfast and dinner). I also had to move around to go to the bathroom, eat, etc. I did not have crutches or a brace. My ankle was almost the size of a softball. But I walked on it. After the first day I had gotten accustomed to the pain, and I continued to walk on it without a brace or crutches. I stayed off it as much as possible, iced it occasionally and kept the foot elevated. I don't walk with a limp now, and the swelling went away permanently after I soaked my feet in an Epsom salt bath, about a month after the incident. (I would have done it sooner if I'd known that it would take away the swelling and pain!)  I'm convinced that if I had stayed off it (by using crutches and/or a brace) it would have stiffened up and likely created a permanent limp. Not all sprained ankles are the same...I'm just relaying my experience.

I broke multiple toes, should I use crutches & or go to the doctors?

Yesterday I dropped my laptop onto my foot from about 3-4 feet up on a desk.... I have a very large, swollen bruise on the top of my foot and I'm unable to move any of my little toes without excruciating pain, sometimes just sitting still my toes begin to throb... I know it's not a bad break because they didn't go really crooked, they are all just black and blue and pretty swollen... I've been putting ice on for 15 min/hour off, and taking Tylenol to try and help with pain and swelling... I'm not sure if I should go to the doctor because it's still so swollen and I can't really walk without pain... Should I be on crutches because I broke multiple toes? Please, if you've had prior experience with multiple broken toes I would appreciate your answers!!
***Ps I've broken one toe before and it wasn't this hard to walk and move other toes, so having multiple broken feels and looks very different than just one***
***also, my big toe is ok, it's the rest of them that aren't***

Inguinal hernia caused by using crutches?

So i recently had a dislocated knee cap so i had to use crutches for around 2 months or a lil bit more (extremely uncomfortable) and after that I couldn't walk right for some a couple of weeks. I started feeling a pain by my groin when i was using the crutches thought I pulled a muscle but it went away then it came back later the same pain but even worse than before. Actually a military doctor found my hernia as I was getting a physical because I was trying to join the navy and told me i had a hernia.

Did the crutches cause my hernia?
