HELP, my neighbor's dog keeps going potty on my apt doorstep & they just leave it!!!?
So... my apartment is quite a luxury apartment with the indoor hallways & such. I love what I am paying for, except for my stinkin neighbor who keeps letting her dog leave a trail of piss down the hallway (in front of my door bc I happen to be on the way to the parking garage), a puddle of piss in front of my door, & tonight, I came home to a pile of wet poop on my doormat!!! (my doormat is going out with the next garbage collection) I know who it is because one time i saw her dog poop in front of my door & she started walking off til she noticed me turn the corner, so she picked it up. I'm so annoyed. I have complained to the management but all they can do is send a generic reminder letter to all residents to remember to pick up after pets. Apparently that hasn't helped. I have a dog too & it's not THAT much effort picking up after him. WHAT TO DOOOOOO, GOSH!!!!!!!!! I'm so ANNOYED!!!!! It's pretty sad when you have to be cautious stepping out of your own home.
Upstairs tenants: do you worry about bothering your neighbors?
i would vacuum all hours then hahaha I have thought about my neighbors, but they don't think about me. yelling and screaming having a party outside at 3 in the morning. Yelling and slamming doors. Stomping up and down the stairs like they have to feel the structure shaking to be satisfied that they are properly walking. My neighbors don't care, so I don't anymore. Your however do, and they are rude about it. I would forget about it and keep doing what you normally do. If they want to talk to you like an adult and give reasons why they don't want you to vacuum at certain times, like a babies nap time, then they can ask politely. If they are anything other than polite, call your apartment manager or the front office and complain to them about how your neighbors have been treating you.
My neighbors keep calling the police on me and falsely accusing me of criminal acts. I am afraid to go outside of my house. What do I do?
I have a neighbor that is fixated on my husband. She seemed a little off, but once she found out about his time in prison she developed a full blown obsession. She wrote the association board for our community a complaint about him slamming doors and watching her when she was outside. This was nonsense but they still had to address it with us. She wrote subsequent letters to the board stating he has a key to her car, and gains entry to turn on her radio...that he lets air out of her tires...that he's getting in her home and releasing ants...and he's poisoning the food in her refrigerator. We'd see police at her door, but they never stopped by to talk to us. One day last fall, my husband was riding his bike. This neighbor pulled her car in front of him and slammed on her brakes, causing him to fall off his bike. Her behavior was now endangering him so we went to the police to file a report. The police were helpful, and knew our neighbor well. Apparently she'd filed lots of police reports about my husband and a few other men from the neighborhood. The police recognized she has mental health issues and never pursued her later complaints. So what can you do? Try to have your cell phone ready to record if you think your neighbor will confront you. Keep a cool head, there's nothing wrong with not engaging in an argument. Don't be afraid to talk to the police to see what your options are if you're being harassed. You don't want to end up on the wrong side of this problem.UPDATE: my local police department reached out to the neighbour's daughter, the daughter called my husband to apologize and let him know she will be intervening in a medically supervised care program for her mother. She made sure he has her contact info should we have any problems. I give her all the credit in the world, she was wonderful and it's great that she wants to be involved in her care! Here's hoping my neighbor gets back on track.
Neighbors gossiping is going too far!?
I have had my fair share of neighbor disputes over the years, so I really do understand the nonsense and the ridiculousness of what you are going through with those jackasses. I would STOP working in the yard when you have an audience. Then walk up to them and say that you refuse to do yard work while they gawk at you and you will be happy to continue once they leave or the work simply will not get done and take even longer. Then, go in the house. They will leave and then you can go out again to do the work. If they return, repeat as necessary. Teach them that their presence will only cause you to retreat. I am shocked that you have no recourse with the builder about the condition of the property. That fake river was just their way of getting rid of rocks. Most builders are slimy idiots who have not one ounce of integrity. Ignore the gossiping as it is meaningless. If they are near your own side walk, turn on the sprinkler. They are a bunch of bullies and they enjoy the fight, so don't give it to them. The more you engage with them, the more power they take from you. So, keep your mouth shut and stop working when they gawk. They will soon get the picture and get bored. Believe it or not, I would trade my neighbors for yours. Really.
Neighbor won't fix backyard fence...?
Animal control and the local authorities can help you. I would be very upset too. Sorry you just found out about your not-so-nice neighbor. You have rights and he is violating them. Am sure you love animals, but this is ridiculous. He can get arrested if his dogs come in your yard and you or your guest are attacked and bitten. Call the local police precinct for their advise. Not an emergency call, just a call to the front desk of the station that is for your area. You can also have the right, in certain states (if you are in the USA) to end the dogs life if they are a threat to you or others on your property. If the dog comes charging with teeth and barking in the full on attack, you can defend yourself. Please don't allow yourself to get hurt by this man's stupidity.

I also work, I help my Nan, I support and visit my children who live with their mom and I have a great circle of friends and family. What part of my life needs turning around?Anyway when I smoke I do so in my back yard so my Nan doesn’t have to smell it.Unfortunately, that means my neighbours saw me smoking pot and, coupled with my night owl characteristics, decided that I must be a drug dealer. So they did what you are thinking of doing; they called the police.I wasn’t there when they started the raid on my Nan’s house, I was on the way back from a job interview. When i got there they were halfway through the job of looking for evidence of my supposed dealing activities. My Nan was a wreck, she has never been in any sort of trouble in her 89 years on this earth and was happily gardening when more than a dozen police officers burst into her house looking for drug dealers. She was in mild shock; confused and upset. The police were very good to be fair to them, they made her a cup of tea and chatted with her until I turned up. At the point when I turned up they had deducted that I was no dealer and the neighbours had jumped to conclusions based on their moral outrage of me smoking a joint. Basically finding my personal stash and nothing more. Even though it’s illegal in my country they didn’t even bother taking the weed which shows the level of interest that it garners.Seriously grow up, get your own life and stay out of other peoples. It doesn’t affect you in the slightest if they’re smoking weed on their property.An amusing story did come from this, and illustrates how seriously the British police take firearms over here. While the police were searching for drugs they look under my mattress and discover a black plastic toy pistol (I had put it under there months previously because my kids had been arguing over who should play with it and I had hidden it from them) They couldn’t touch it at all, they had to call a rapid response firearms team to my house, as they are the only police qualified to handle firearms, to verify it wasn’t a real gun. Which was obvious but rules are rules!
