Vet Tech Institute Pittsburgh Pa

Is Vet Tech Institute in Pittsburgh, PA any good?

I currently go to VTI and have about 3 months left until I graduate. I think it is a great school and could not even begin to tell you how much I have learned in the past 15 months. If becoming a vet tech is really what you want to do I would recommend VTI to you for sure! However this a really fast paced program and you are going to have to be willing to put in the hours. There is a lot of studying time involved and you have to really want it. Also the teachers are really helpful and will always make time for you if you need help. Unlike regular college absenses from class is really not tolerated and you have to be here to learn the material. (Which only makes sense because animals lives are on the line) ....So it's a hard school but in my opinion I would do it all over again because in the end it's so worth it!

What happened to Computer-Tech in Pittsburgh PA?

I attended this 15 month program on 6th Street (in the Fulton Building) way back in 1998. I am now looking to go back to school and need my transcripts. However, I am unable to locate any information about the school much less contact them.

The only number listed online is 412-397-4197. I have only received a perpetual busy signal every time I try the number. Their website: Computer-Tech.com goes nowhere ...

If anyone could provide me ANY information, I would be most grateful.

Thank you!!

Vet Tech Salaries in New York?

Hi Im 20 years old and i want to go to the vet tech institute in Pittsburgh PA this fall. I wanted to know about vet tech salaries. When i graduate i plan to become a registered vet tech and work in New York. From what Ive heard and read on forums vet techs that work in emergency or referral clinics make more money.

Its not all about the money for me i do love animals. They were always of interest to me. I was in school previously to become an electrician but it just wasnt for me. I just want to be able to live comfortably while doing what i love and not living paycheck to paycheck. Any advice from ppl within the field would be extremely helpful.

thanks

What do you think of Penn State University?

I have only been there once, for a one-week workshop. Penn State has a great reputation as one of the first and most successful land-grant universities. It has a legitimately strong academic tradition. Penn State has a fairly attractive campus with lots of trees and animals and it is located in a small town in a picturesque area of Pennsylvania. You can get the small college town experience without the hustle and bustle of a big city. It is, however, a large Big 10 university, so there are a lot of students there. Overall, if you want a good education at a well-known and highly-respected research university located in an attractive area, Penn State is a good choice.

I have been accepted to CMU's MHCI program as well as Georgia Tech's MS-HCI program. Which one would be a right choice for a fresh undergraduate like me with no work experience?

Probably biased, but Georgia Tech provides ample opportunity to be engaged in interesting and very useful research. I personally found the co-op and internship program immensely useful to understand the expectations of the industry, which allowed me to shape my research and skills with clearer goals in mind. At the same time, you get the chance to work with Professors in the Schools of Computer Science, Psychology, Digital Media and Music. The university is flexible enough to allow you to transition to another program as your interests change, including PhD programs – which are extremely well funded.
