Vision Suddenly Worsened.

I'm 14, and my eyesight suddenly got worse? I'm really worried, why is this happening?

Well, first of all, you should tell your parent/guardian what is going on, so that you can get a doctor to figure out what has happened.Whatever it is, you're probably not going to get a 100% accurate answer off of the internet, because we only know so much and we can't examine your eyes, etc.I do not think this problem is caused by your phone. I wouldn't feel guilty, because you can't control this. Just let your parents know so they can take you to a doctor and fix the problem, hopefully.Good luck! :)

Why did my eyesight suddenly get worse?

Please read this and help me!
So before the end of school I had felt foggy and like all of a sudden I was having trouble focusing and seeing what was on the board. So I got glasses but one eye is a .25 and the other a .50 (not a very strong prescription). I've never worn glasses so when I wear them they make me feel more blurry because I'm not used to them, therefore I rarely do.
Is it normal to suddenly have your eyesight seem to get worse? (i'm almost 17 so I'm pretty young)
Honestly I've always had 20/20 and when I read the chart with the "E" I could read to a couple lines under the 20/20. But then I'm still feeling the fogginess and trouble concentrating/focusing on objects. I feel like it happens more in bright lights (like at school the fluorescents are extremely bright, and even now I felt foggy downstairs with all the lights on but when I went in my room and the lights were out I was able to see). So is it the light?
Also can it be caused by eye strain by looking at a phone on low brightness? My phone dies quickly so I have it really dark and my mom says that can hurt my eyes.
Lastly, can it have anything to do with anxiety? Since the end of school I've been struggling with horrible anxiety and I know that can affect a lot of things.
Any ideas?

Sudden blurry vision in one eye?

My right eye's been bugging me today. Stinging on & off. It started to get blurry a couple hours ago, so I took out my non-prescription colored contacts (a brand I've used for years) & it's getting worse. If I get closer to something it starts to clear up a bit, but for the most part my sight won't focus in that eye. The pupil is also a little smaller in that eye than the left. Kinda freaking out.. never had my eye see this blurry for so long before. Usually when my vision is blurry it's just some gunk I need to get out, but my eye is clear. I've been using eye drops (expiration is July 2016) & they're not doing anything except temporarily relieving redness/stinging pain, but only momentarily. Of course my insurance doesn't cover optometrists, & OF COURSE the pain/blurry vision didn't start until AFTER my doctor's appointment earlier. If it matters, I'm 24 and have Sjogren's Syndrome (autoimmune disorder), which causes my eyes & mouth to become dry, but my eyes have never had blurry vision from the dryness. My father had cataracts several years ago & was just informed my family has a history of glaucoma. Can glaucoma/cataract symptoms just start out of the blue like this?? I don't know what to do, since I don't have optometrist coverage should I see my primary care doctor? Happy birthday to me :'(

Why is my vision getting worse?

Many, many hyperopes, or far sighted people see quite well till their mid teens. Being farsighted, their eyes are weaker than normal, so the optical system focuses the light, but doesn't bend it enough. The relaxed focal point is behind the eye. But we can increase the power of the lens by focusing close up.

People that are farsighted use their ability to accommodate, or see close up, to bend the lens so that they are in focus at distance. But when one reaches the mid teen ages, one begins to focus a bit on school (some do!), and the increased amount of work makes them get tired easily. So they'll get tired of studying after about 20 minutes or so, or need a short nap. You can see lots of this in any university library reading room.

Since the lens grows with age, it becomes harder to bend. So it takes more work to achieve the same focus. Most likely your problem is related to some sort of refractive disorder. There are medical problems that should be considered though. I'd suggest you see a good Optometrist and see if s/he can get a good refraction and give you an Rx, that allows you to see at distance and up close. You'll study better, get less headaches, and last longer (at studying).

Do I need glasses with 20/25 vision?

As explained in this other Quora post, What is 20/25 vision? What does it mean? Is it better or worse than 20/20 vision? “20/20 means at 20 feet you can see what a normal person sees at 20 feet. 20/25 means that at 20 feet you can see what a normal person could see at 25 feet. So a normal person can be 5 feet further away than you. So it's worse than 20/20. But not that much worse compared to someone who may have 20/200 or 20/800 vision, you legally need at least 20/40 vision to drive, so I would assume that you don’t really need glasses with 20/25 vision but they would perhaps help sharpen things up slightly. After corrective lenses I am able to have 20/15 vision and if I can see just fine with 20/15 vision without the need for something extra being done, then a person who has 20/25 vision to begin with without lenses should also be able to see good enough not to need anything extra such as wearing lenses.
