I want to be a vegetarian, but I don't know what to eat to get the supplements that meat gives me.?

My sister is a vegetarian, so we have to make sure there is stuff for her at home.
*Beans & Legumes provide lots of fiber and proteins.
*Dairy products are good sources of protein.
*Soy products, tempeh, seitan are all meat substitutes. If you know any asian markets, there are usually whole sections that have imitation meat options that taste pretty close to the real thing.
*Check out your local Whole Foods if you have one.
*Amy's frozen foods are really good and there are tons of vegetarian options in the frozen food section: Boca Burgers are tastry, Morning Star and Dr. Praeger's.
*Lots of green leafy veggies for all the vitamins and nutrients and proteins.
*Sweet potatoes, yams, parsnips.

Also remember that most females need about 70 to 100 grams of protein per day depending on their size. I'm 5'3" and need about 75 gr/day.

How do you cook fried green tomatoes?

I make them all the time. You do not have to use all green tomatoes. You can fry 1 / 2 ripe tomatoes or red ripe tomatoes as well.
here goes

Slice tomato slices about 1/4 inch thick
make a mixture of 1/4 parts flour and 1 / 2 part yellow cornmeal salt and pepper and 1 tablespoon of regular granulated sugar.

You should have plenty of grease in you cast iron fry pan.
When grease is hot add tomatoes one at a time. Turn pan down to med high and brown on both sides. Remove and place on papertowel to drain.

Serve immediately. Great served with cream style homemade corn. Fried potatoes and onions or fried yellow squash also is good with this.

Make some fried chicken, fried tomatoes and chicken gravy and collard greens or kale. Good southern cooking.

I was raised on this kind of cooking. Your making me hurgry and its 10 after 3 in the morning. Time for me to turn in for the night.

I am trying to be healthy..and I need a list of food that i can actually eat?

I don't buy prepared food so everything I cook is home-made. There are shortcuts, for instance using canned tomatoes or canned tomato sauce. You can get it without added salt. But if you don't even want that, then to make your own tomato sauce takes hours. Go to the library and get one of the old cookbooks so you can make your own tomato sauce, bread from scratch, etc.

You can make stir-fry meals with veggies and with whatever kind of meats you want to add from shrimp to pork to chicken to beef. You can find out if your local butcher shop or chain grocery store sells grass-fed beef (raised without chemicals).

For anything other than baked goods, fresh fruits and vegetables can make wonderful meals. Frozen veggies have more nutrients in them than fresh veggies because they are flash frozen immediately whereas the store veggies have been sitting in the store in light which removes a lot of the nutrients. If you are using vegetables raw, for instance in a salad plate, lightly steamed to tender-crisp, then fresh work better.

Some things you can use in food in place of meat if you want some meatless meals is eggplant or mushrooms. Some people prefer Tofu but others don't care for it.

As long as you make everything from scratch, you will avoid the chemicals used to prolong the shelf life of products. Making all your cookies, cakes, etc. from scratch removes the chemicals that make it really tender and also removes the chemicals that make it last longer. Homemade bread is very good the day you make it but it dries out very quickly and loses it's softness. Also, homemade bread will grow fungus faster than store-bought because no chemicals.

All I can recommend is checking out cookbooks at the library so you can see pictures of what you might want to make.

So where do you start with dog obedience training? You could take a class, but it’s not necessary; you can do it yourself. In fact, with the right attitude, it can be fun for both you and your dog!
Step 1 : Sit
This is one of the easiest dog obedience commands to teach, so it’s a good one to start with.
• Hold a treat close to your dog’s nose.
• Move your hand up, allowing his head to follow the treat and causing his bottom to lower.
• Once he’s in sitting position, say “Sit,” give him the treat, and share affection.
Repeat this sequence a few times every day until your dog has it mastered. Then ask your dog to sit before mealtime, when leaving for walks, and during other situations where you’d like him calm and seated.
Step 2 : Come
This command can help keep a dog out of trouble, bringing him back to you if you lose grip on the leash or accidentally leave the front door open.
• Put a leash and collar on your dog.
• Go down to his level and say, “Come,” while gently pulling on the leash.
• When he gets to you, reward him with affection and a treat.
Once he’s mastered it with the leash, remove it — and practice the command in a safe, enclosed area.
Step 3 : Down
This can be one of the more difficult commands in dog obedience training. Why? Because the position is a submissive posture. You can help by keeping training positive and relaxed, particularly with fearful or anxious dogs.
• Find a particularly good smelling treat, and hold it in your closed fist.
• Hold your hand up to your dog’s snout. When he sniffs it, move your hand to the floor, so he follows.
• Then slide your hand along the ground in front of him to encourage his body to follow his head.
• Once he’s in the down position, say “Down,” give him the treat, and share affection.
Repeat it every day. If your dog tries to sit up or lunges toward your hand, say “No” and take your hand away. Don’t push him into a down position, and encourage every step your dog takes toward the right position. After all, he’s working hard to figure it out!
