Want To Use Iphone 5 In India. Should I Buy It From Usa And Can I Use It Here Without Any Problem

Can we use an iPhone from the US in India?

If its an unlocked version then you can use it anywhere in the world. But if it is carrier locked, then you have to options, best one is to get it factory unlocked from any legitimate unlocking sites, ebay is the best and secure place for that, but the unlocking cost depends upon the carrier it is locked to, mostly its AT&T, VERIZON, SPRINT, T-mobile, if you dont know the carrier the you can check it for free at imeilookuptemporary and cheap is a chip known as rsim designed to mimic the properties of the carrier sim the phone is locked to, it is inserted along with the sim of any other carrier sim you want to use in that phone

I am getting an iPhone 7 from USA. Will it work in India?

Phones in the US are more often sold with contract of telcos. These contracted phones are much less expensive than those in the market. But, they are network locked - meaning no other SIM other than that of the contracted network (like Verizon, At&t) will work on it. Thus, these won't accept any Indian SIM cards.Any network locked phone can be unlocked from most local phone shops or just by simple YouTube vidoes. But, there may be the branding and some apps of the original carrier left in your phone. This too can be removed by jailbreaking the iPhone.Another aspect is that, make sure that the phone runs GSM network and NOT CDMA. Currently, only Docomo & BSNL run CDMA and this is quite outdated in India. Also verify it supports the network frequencies (900/1800/2100/2300MHz) available in India.Make sure it's the original iPhone itself and not any clone. A clone appears exactly the same as the original and may even seem to run same iOS initially. But these are cheap Chinese stuff. If you are getting the phone from your friend/relative you can ignore this.Edit4. Warranty - You may not get this. But you can certainly pay and repair at apple service centres in India or purchase one with premium international warranty (apple care+). Do check with apple official site as my knowledge is limited here.

Can I order an iPhone from USA, and unlock it in India?

Possibly. But that is probably risky. You can buy a factory unlocked iPhone from the United States— one that is already unlocked— and begin using it in India freely on any carrier there. That would be the easiest and safest route, so you don't have to deal with being stuck with a locked phone if you get a locked phone from the U.S., and you're unable to unlock it. Anyways, for you, the price wouldn't be different for a locked or unlocked iPhone here— as you would be paying full retail price anyways, and you cannot get a contract/financing deal and then abandon it hoping you can unlock your iPhone.

Can I buy a iPhone 6 from Dubai? Will it work in India?

Thank you for the A2A.Absolutely, you can buy an iPhone 6 from Dubai. However, as far as I know, there are two versions of the unlocked iPhone 6 models - one which has FaceTime and VoIP enabled, and the other which doesn't. It is because of the laws in the country which has banned these softwares. Buy the one which has FaceTime enabled. However, I don't recommend you buy an iPhone 6 in 2016. Better, go for the iPhone 6s or the iPhone 7. It would cost you about Rs.35,000 and Rs.45,000, compared to the Rs.50,000 and Rs.60,000 respectively in India.Either way, you won’t get international warranty. The solution? Bring the iPhone to India, and have Apple Care registered for the same. You’d get an year’s worth of warranty for Rs.4,500.You would still end up saving about Rs.10,000.Hope this helps. For the latest Apple news, leaks, deals, rumours and reviews, visit Codename Apple - Everything Apple and subscribe!

PHILIPPINES: if i buy an iphone in the US, can I use it here? or do I have to have it unlocked / open-lined?

USA iphones are sold for and are fully functional only on the ATT Network. Yes they can be unlocked (we have one on T-Mobile) but you lose some function and if you hook it up to itunes for a download and it asks if you want your software updated, if you say yes, it updates your software and relocks your phone. Also if you buy the "unlocked" iphone 3G off Ebay, it's only partly unlocked and you won't like it. We have the older 2G, it's unlocked and we are careful not let itunes relock it again. Nasty trick! Anyway if you persist and do buy one, buy it from a cellphone geek, not the big stores and he'll unlock it for you and tell you how to keep it unlocked. But not the 3G.

Can I use a US cell phone in Saudi Arabia?

......yes it should be unlocked otherwise, there are many technicians who can unlock it for you but will automatically remove the warranty of the phone in US since it is already opened by others......

Does anyone want to get 50 free Tracfone minutes, without adding an airtime card?

That's really cool of you to list this. Here is a website that has a BUNCH of free Tracfone promo codes that are constantly updated. Or you can google Tracfone Insider and join them. They will send you email updates on the latest promo codes.

Two caveats about TF: Don't load up too many minutes on one phone.
If you want to avoid problems, keep it simple, don't try to do too many things with your account (port in numbers, transfer balances, etc). Tracfone is the biggest prepaid independent cell phone company but they have a couple of weakpoints. Just get a new number and don't put too many minutes in any one phone because if you lose them (by losing or damaging the phone) it can be near impossible to get them back.

Btw, Tracfone does have DMFL or Double Minutes for Life . If you buy a phone that comes with this feature or if you buy a DMFL card to add to a phone that doesn't have it, that phone will for, as long as it works, automatically double the value of any Tracfone topup cards in minute values. A 200 minute card becomes worth 400, etc. AND you can use promo codes combined for even more total minutes. You can't transfer the DMFL from one phone to another. When it says double minutes FOR LIFE, the For Life part is for the particular phone that has it.

Take care.

Will an unlocked 'iPhone' work in India?

It depends on what model the phone it as some will have CDMA or GSM radios and there are several 3G and 4G bands that are used around the globe . On Apple’s site here View countries with supported LTE networks you can check what your area may use and an appropriate iPhone that will work in that area . An unlocked from factory iPhone just means it is not locked by any certain carriers and should work on most networks regardless with the radios it has to work with .
