Wanting To Start Youtube Videos But .

I want to start making youtube videos, but I have no idea where to start?

I don't know how to make my first video. That is one thing. I really just want to do something fun, but I have a few problems.
I don't want to start making good videos and then have NO ideas all of a sudden.
I also don't want to "steal" peoples ideas
I also do not want to be busy and not be able to make a video, if that point ever came, which it probably won't but hey.. You never know.

Have any ideas how to avoid that, and how to start?
Thanks :)

I am 13, btw. If that helps at all.

How to start making good youtube videos?

For one, you can't be a YouTube partner until you're 18.
My camera is amazing, a Panasonic Lumix DMC-SZ7, $120.
Professional lighting DOES cost quite a bit of money, but you could always just use a lamp or film outside!
A tip for making videos is to just do whatever you want to do. Maybe write up some ideas for videos. Think of Jenna Marbles; she just talks about random things, but she's hilarious! If you want to do sketches like Smosh, I suggest getting some friends/family members to help you out.
The reason people like Smosh and Jenna Marbles got so popular so quickly is because they came up with a viral video idea (Smosh, Pokemon Lip Synch, Jenna Marbles, How to trick people...)
So what I'm getting at is to just make a video about what you would like to watch on YouTube. That's all.
Good luck!
P.S., post your channel, I'd love to see what you come up with!

I know nothing about video editing, but I want to start a YouTube channel and make fun edits. Where do I start? What (free) programs do you recommend?

Depends on a few factors. If you're on a Mac, then you already have iMovie, which will do pretty much everything you need. If you're on a Mac, here's a tutorial:If you're on Windows, you could try to use Windows Movie Maker for your videos, but it's pretty limited. However, since you've never edited before, you should try it out once or twice just to get an idea for how to import a video clip, shorten/lengthen it, add audio, and export to a different format. Here's a tutorial:Once you have those basics down, you should probably consider looking into a better editing program with true multitrack support. I've been recommending DaVinci Resolve Lite as a great free editing program, but you would have to spend some time to learn the interface and workflow. Here's the site for Resolve Lite:https://www.blackmagicdesign.com...And here's a tutorial to get you started:Other free Windows editing apps tend to either have some sort of adware or are pretty underwhelming. Openshot is a decent simple editing program for Linux distros, and it looks like the upcoming 2.0 version will have Windows support, so you might want to like their Facebook page or check their site every so often:http://www.openshotvideo.com

I want to make a YouTube video but I am shy, how do I get over my shyness and do it already?

I have always been a bit shy in front of a camera and if I look back over the last few years of the comfort I have in front of camera, and now even in front of larger groups of people (10-100).  I still get nervous when more than about 30 or so are going to be there, but it is only a fleeting thought at this point.Back to the question, what really helped me was a project that I did when I joined Flickr (a photo sharing website).  It was called project 365 and had a simple task.  Take a self portrait every day for a year and post it online.  In the beginning it was uncomfortable, but over time it got boring taking the same photos over and over, so instead I would start to do goofy things.  What helped was the fact that you post these photos online with a group of other people that are doing the same project.  It tends to provide support across the groups.  I ended up doing this project for 2 and a half years.  When you really get comfortable, you start to even have groups of people challenge each other.   For example it may be once a week one of your photos has to be with one leg in the air, so you get creative on ways to do that.  Below is a link to the "Project 365" page on Flickr (which you may have to use a yahoo login to get access to it, but it is free)Flickr 365And below is a link to my first year of doing this project as well.https://www.flickr.com/photos/gl...It got me comfortable enough that I also have my own YouTube Channel at Page on youtube.com YouTube Channel at (youtube.com/c/svdreamchaser) and also our own website where we chronicle our life living on our sailboat. at Sailing Vessel DreamChaser

I want to start my own YouTube channel. Is there any advice?

PICK A CHANNELNAME THAT MAKES YOUR CHANNEL EASY TO FIND!!!Okay now that that's over with here's some more relaxing tipsThe first and what I think of as the most important rule, rewatch video before you upload, and if you think a part is boring so will your audience. Edit it, add music, do something! You should be proud of a video you upload, for if you are the chances of others liking it too are much much higher. Second, do look at the comments people leave, most of them will be good to you. Sure you will get some hate comments, but hey, those people are probably just jelous of how well done your video is. Third to get an audience, leave comments on other peoples videos that are similar to what you are making. Don't just be like "check out my channel it's cool". People hate that, an are often turned away from looking at your channel. Say something nicer "Hey I'm making a new start up channel, and was wondering what you guys thought of it?" Or just plain comments in general, if you have a username and profile picture that sums up your channel, many people will go and look at it even if you said nothing about the videos you make in your comment. I gain usually 4-5 subs per commentAnd lastly, occasionally ask for suggustions from subscribers, because most of them have good things to say about what you could do to give your channel more flare. Good luck! I've had three channels so far, and don't worry about not being popular at first, if you make good videos, subscribers will certainly find you eventually!

How do I tell my parents that I am starting a video channel on YouTube?

Im thinking of starting a lifestyle (fashion, makeup, tips and advice, music) channel on YouTube, but Im not sure my parents will go along with the idea...........I am started 9th grade and I wear makeup and I am pretty good at giving advice. I even have my own camera that I bought with my own money...its a Canon EOS Rebel SL1 18MP DSLR Camera with 18-55mm Lens Kit.

The things is that I know that my mom will say yes, but Im not sure my dad will say yes. My dad is the kinda dad that doesnt like all the stuff like 3-pound MacBook Airs......lets just say that he is a bit behind in the technology (he doesnt know how to work our printer or things on the internet, he types like 6 words a minute..) He is also the really over-protective parent...for example:
It took me and my mom 2 months to convince him to let me wear makeup.
Another example:
I had a piano recital when I was 11 and my mom posted the video of me performing and my dad told her to take it down and he said, "Anyone can see her perform and they might comment bad things and I dont want anyone else to see her perform"

Anyways, I have a few questions:
How do I ask my parents? (Do i just say, "Im starting a video channel!")
If my dad says no, how do I convince him?
If my dad says no, do i secretly start a video channel without telling him? (tips for keeping it a secret)

Thanks so much!!!

I want to start a YouTube channel but I don't have a camera can I use my phone?

YES. A lot of my content on my channel was filmed in my phone and I still got thousands of subscribers. What matters is your just start and you improve along the way.You learn to play the game by playing not by getting the best gear.So get out there and create and play. Realize that you're not going to be perfect the first time since, BUT you get better. My biggest advice I share to my students and clients in the beginning is: allow yourself to suck. You know that you don't have the right equipment, now own it and do the best with what you have. It's about being resourceful.
