Wart On My Hand And Touched Baby

Does touching a slug or a snail with your bare hands expose you to any dangerous bacteria, viruses, or parasites?

In general, no (I have been doing so for more than 50 years: still here, with no snail related ailment). Normal common sense and Hygiene indicates that you should wash your hands before eating anything or needing to put your hand on/in your mouth. In fact, snail slime or extracts thereof are marketed as an anti-wrinkle cream.I regularly show kids slugs by letting them crawl on my hands so that they can see the colour of the slime and other features.Similarly, they are safe to eat if thoroughly cooked. The snag is that in some tropical/subtropical areas they are a secondary host for the rat lungworm. If a human picks up this parasite, it migrates to the brain/meninges and then dies. This causes a form of meningitis, and, as far as I know, the severity depends on the number of parasites ingested. It can be fatal, but this is rare.In virtually all cases, humans get the disease by eating raw or undercooked snails, or salad contaminated by an infected snail, and not by simple contact. Some idiots have eaten raw slugs or snails as a dare. Don’t do this. I would have no qualms about handling a snail in these areas, but I would be bit hygiene-conscious afterward. Washing the salad plants should do the trick, a good idea anyway.

Found wart on my hand, afraid to give it to baby?

Put the liquid wart remover on the warts and let it dry. Do that a couple times a day. At the end of the day soak your hands and scrub off dead cells where the warts are, then reapply the liquid wart remover. Once you've gone past the hard crusty part of the wart -- after a few days -- you will start to feel when you're getting to the bottom of the wart's root (where you need to get to so it dies forever!).

I had warts removed by the doctor before, and removed them myself using the method described above, and my way hurt a lot less than having them blasted off by the doc.

Warts are gross. Sorry you got them and I hope you don't pass them on to your baby.

How contagious are warts for babies?

Warts are extremely contagious and can be passed from one person to another quite easily. Something as simple as touching an object that an infected person has touched may put you at risk for catching the HPV virus, which can in turn cause the appearance of warts. It is better to be safe than sorry when it comes to the transmittal of a virus. Viruses cannot be eliminated with antibiotics and require a strong immune system to overcome. You can reduce the chance of spreading the virus (to other parts of your own body or to other people) with certain simple measures taken in your daily activities.

Steps to follow:

Step 1:
Use a new brush or comb and razor whenever you have warts. The HPV virus that causes warts can attach itself to a comb/brush or a razor and spread a wart to another part of the body or infect someone who comes into contact with these personal items.

Step 2:
Eliminate the sharing of personal items with someone else. Nail files, nail clippers, towels and washcloths could be contaminated with the HPV virus.

Step 3:
Avoid picking warts. Picking warts with your bare hands may cause the virus to spread to other parts of your body that you frequently touch.

Step 4:
Wash your hands and feet frequently with soap and warm water. Be sure to dry thoroughly afterwards. Warts are more difficult to treat in an environment that has been left moist.

Step 5:
Always wear shoes or sandals in public areas. Public swimming pools and locker rooms are havens for the growth of the virus that causes warts. Reduce the risk of spreading or catching the virus by wearing protective footwear at all times. This reduces the risk for plantar, or foot, warts.

What should I do if a wart won't stop bleeding?

First, don't worry, you won't bleed out. Get yourself a piece of gauze or folded paper towel, and apply it to the bleeding wart, now apply pressure to it, and hold for five minutes, yes five minutes and no peeking. If you peek, you need to start over again. It takes continued pressure to stop bleeding.Once the bleeding has stopped, apply a bandaid to protect it. Just so you know, the wart will grow back, and this time, don't try removing yourself. Instead, go see a doctor, or use Compound W wart remover, it does work.Best of luck, and remember, no peeking.

Is it bad to pull off a wart?

Yes, it is bad to pull off your wart. You can, of course, but …-hurts veeeeeerrrrryyyyy badly (I speak from experience)-you are NOT removing the cause of the wart, which is the HPV virus, but only the result.-it will bleed and be disgusting. Don't.Basically, the wart will go away, but the virus won't. What does that mean? It may spread to other parts of your body and the wart that you removed will most likely sprout back up again. So, to spare you the pain, here is one common remedy. Clean the wart with soap and water, then put duct tape on it. Just a little strip will work. Then leave the strip on for a few days, maybe six or so. If the duct tape comes off, proceed to the next step, which is to take an Emory board (a nail file will work but not as well) and rub it over the surface off the wart. Clean the area and repeat the whole process until the wart goes away.Whenever I have a wart I do that whole process, and to be hones, I'm not sure if it really works. It is a very popular remedy to warts with easily accessible "ingredients."Another way to help get rid of warts is to purchase a little pad of sorts to put on it. I won't go into detail because I have never tried this, but these pad bandages can easily be found at the drugstore (at least in my town.) Serums are also a way to get rid of warts, but be warned, they smell baaaaad depending on the kind you get.I am not a doctor, so if you want actual professional advice, I would consult your doctor.

If i have warts on my hand, can i pass them to my boyfriend?

warts spread by going through cuts or small crack in the skin and yes if you touch him there is a risk of giving him warts, but there is a difference between genital warts and normal warts, they are caused by different types of the same virus Hpv, so you may give him normal warts but on his area. If you rly want to touch him down there get you warts burnt off. hope this helps

Children and Genital Warts-Help?

First, to answer your question, yes, if either you, your husband or anyone else that has contact with your baby has the herpes virus, then they can transfer it to your baby during diaper changes if they aren't meticulous about their own hygiene.

To help prevent it from happening and to keep your baby from passing it to someone else, whoever handles the diaper changing should be wearing gloves or something to prevent it from spreading.

Now, are you sure that it is genital warts? You said you saw the doctor but only mentioned that the child wasn't abused, you didn't say anything about the skin condition.

I would take your child to a dermatologist that specializes in pediatric and infant skin conditions. It may just be a very severe case of some form of diaper rash. I hope that is all it is. Genital warts can last forever.

Good luck.

If i wash my clothes normally that has been touched by warts all the time, will it be ok?
