Was I Right Not To Call Up This Manager Who My Former Coworker Recommended Me To

My coworker almost raped me last night. seriously. i think i need to quit my job, right?

i don't see him everyday, but close to it. he works in a different building than i do, but my job requires me to go get papers almost every day from all the buildings for records, etc.

everyone from my work went out last night to hooters to watch the football game, and i was drinking and he was supposed to be my ride home. we were friends, so i trusted him or whatever. but he came in when he dropped me off and was pulling off my clothes and humping me - no insertion though. i'm not 100% sure of what happened. i was drunk, he wasn't.... i don't know. i'm not sure how i do this. i think i need to quit my job.

what do i do???

i know i can't call the cops - there's no proof of anything.

i remember i cried and was screaming.... and he got pissed and left, slammed my door.
i can't just quit, i have a son to take care of, and it's just me. & im barely making ends meet right now financially.

btw - my son wasn't there, he was at my parents for the night.

i'm not sure, how do i handle this?

please don't answer if you're going to be a jerk, i'm not being a troll. i'm serious. this IS a fake account though (my other one has almost 3000 points, but i'm not asking this question on it.)

i'm also not sure how to categorize it. i'm thinking psychology...

My co-worker agreed to take my shift and forgot to show?

I had to go down to Toronto today for an important event for Ryerson university. I asked my co worker a week in advance if she could cover it for me. She agreed. The policy at my work is we have to fill out a form, where the date of the shift is clearly written and both parties will sign their name. We filled this out and I personally put it on my managers desk. So today, while in Toronto, i get a call from my boss saying the person never showed up and is not answering her phone. She said both of us are accountable for this, but she will keep trying to call her. I apologized and told her the steps I took to ensure my shift was covered for the day. They were correct. The girl texts me back saying " Oh **** , I forgot why didn't you remind me!? I have plans and I'm not showing up there" I called back to work spoke to the manager asking if this girl has called to confirm her not coming- she hadn't called at all. I told my manager I could rush back to work the shift if she needed me to. She said she already called someone in to cover, but she didn't want me to tell her that it had been sorted for her, and not to update her at all. Do you think I did the right thing for calling, this is my first mistake here and I'm slowly realizing that you cannot really trust anybody but yourself in the work force. Do you think I will get in trouble?

Co-workers keep calling off at work?

Hello everyone, I am so frustrated right now, and I really need some answers because something do not seem right about this..

First, let me tell you. This is my first job ever, and I work in a retail department store ( I will not name the company). I work in the shoe department, and we have a pretty small team of co-workers working in the shoe department-- six people, including me. Our manager schedules us for like 4-5 hours by ourselves, until the next person clocks in, or for the rest of the day.

Now i'll get on to the point.

What's driving me crazy is that my co-workers are always trying to call-in "sick" just about every other week or if not, every week. They always call me, so I could take their hours/shift on my days off. This seems to happen just about every other week, and now I always have a feeling that someone will try to call me in, just because they're "sick". They even try to get me to stay longer after my shift of 10 hours, so I could cover theirs because they're calling-in. I'm honestly feeling like I'm trying to be taken advantage of. I used to cover some of their shifts for them, but I've stopped a while ago. When ever they call or text me, I just tell them straight out no. However, they still contact me first out of all 5 other associates.

I'm the type of person that want all my days off, if I have days off. I do not want to go to work on my days off, obviously, because I need rest too. Just because I have a day off does not mean I'm available.

My question; Is it normal for co-workers to be calling off work so often like that, or is it just me? I'm really starting to consider finding a new job because this is ridiculous. I can't even have peace on my days off without someone trying to call me in every time. Trust me, it's not the type of "sick" to be calling in for. These people are calling in because they claim to have a simple cold, or a tooth ache. I've had a cold not too long ago, and I still came in to work. I brought a box of tissues and some Halls along with me, and dealt with it.

My manager asked me if I know what is going on (which I do know) with a coworker who usually reports sick about 4 days per month, what should I do?

If you are close to the co-worker you should say that you are not aware of the reason why they are taking off days. If the manager is asking questions about the co-worker...one day he or she will be asking questions about you. If you think the co-worker is taking advantage and the co-worker is flippant about it...think about who else knows this information besides you? If you are the only one who knows this information....do not tell your manager what they do. It will get back to the co-worker and then the rumors will start that YOU can't be trusted. In my experience...say counter questions like "what do you think is going on?" and "why don't you ask him/her" and say things like "I wish I could tell you but I don't really know...". You won't get in trouble for NOT KNOWING. You will get in trouble for KNOWING and telling your manager what they do. Technically this is reporting information. Don't report information because it could be false and then later...it is all going to come back to haunt you. Last thing...IF YOU WANT to intentionally screw this Co-worker over then tell them what you know.

My co-worker forgets my name. Is it wrong for my feelings to be hurt just a bit?

My favorite co-worker always seems to forget my name. For example, right before she calls or says my name she goes "uummmm', then my name ,like she needs a second to remember.
She's not that old, middled-aged. She's intelligent.
I mean, our office department is TINY. Our desks are right next to eachother. She works full-time, I work part-time.
I've worked in this office for over a year now. She does most of the talking. Is it wrong to kind of feel hurt inside everytime she needs a couple of seconds to remember my name?!

How do I deal with a former boss constantly keeping tabs on me?

I'll elaborate. I work in a small office for a large energy company. I was in one department since I started working at the company under this particular former manager. She's always been a micromanager and she's often very controlling when it comes to time management. We worked in different rooms so I was usually able to not have to deal with her 24/7. I found out later that she would often ask my coworkers if I was actually working on an almost daily basisLong story short my position got combined with my coworkers position and I was moved to a different department with a new boss. Right before that I was moved into my former boss’ office and that's where I currently still am against my better judgement. We actually get along fairly well, I would even call her a friend but she's constantly going behind ny back and telling my new boss that I'm not working enough or worse yet teling my boss’ boss. And my new boss tells me everything that she says. I don't report to her anymore but I feel like she still thinks she's my boss. I've kind of just brushed it off and haven't confronted her about it at all.But she did it again a couple of days ago and I'm tired of it. I'm going to move out of her office when I go back to work. Is there anything else I can do to make her leave me alone?

Would you bothered by this snobby rich customer?

You did nothing wrong; she was a typical b*tch, all you can do is explain what happened and since you have a good record, there should be no further problem. This is an unfortunate side effect of working with the public, they can be a real pain the a$$. This is one of them.
It is understandable that you are upset, but be careful not to take it out on any of your co workers, even the not so pretty ones. Keep your friendly reputation intact, it is not worth losing over this one idiot female.
