I bet you wish she'd never given you a flower! That was a really bad case of chain reaction, starting with a flower. I'm sorry that happened. One of the problems with being a teenager is that you 'shut down' at the wrong time, and parents take it as rebellion. Please learn to communicate even when you don't feel like it. The whole situation could have been avoided at every stage by proper communication.
Is it ok for a dad to examine his 5 and 9 year old daughters vagina along with their 8 and 12 yr old cousins?
My fiance's ex husband gets to see his daughters (6 and 10) on alternate weekends. Just recently the girls spoke out claiming that they were all vaginal inspected one by one, now my girlfriend is scared to let the girls stay over his house. From what I understand, this is not the first time this has happened. He claims he was making sure they weren't being molested when left at their grandma for babysitting. There's a couple of uncles that stay at grandma's house. I ask this question because I find it inappropriate and mind blowing to ask your daughters and their cousins to spread them open... mind boggling. I believe if he had any doubts, the girls should have been examined by their mother or a doctor. I have a son all grown up now and I could never imagine myself behaving this way.. what do you think?

You are definitely right. Has he already checked you out? Don't do it if he hasn't yet and you are not comfortable. Request to go to the doctors and have a woman look at it. I totally understand what you are saying. He is a man and he is your father. That makes it like twice as embarrassing.

Okay. So, I am 18 years old, female. A couple of days ago one of my neighbors got diagnosed with breast cancer and had a operation to remove it(small tumor). She came back home all pale, sick, and with a huge bandage around her chest. I dont know if it was just the pain she was in or the medication. But anyways back to the topic, my father go kind of freaked out. He is very over protective of me and loves me very much. He started asking me questions if I do self breast examinations and check down their for any infections. Being my immature self I found this subject with him very funny. But as the day progressed he started searching online and youtube about all the possible diseases that affect women and well yeah, he got kind of worried. So, he asked me questions again like: what color is it? does it smell?does it hurt? Self hygiene? Irritation and so on. Well, I dont really usually check down there or my breasts, so I told him I dont know. So long story short I let him give me an examination. He did see me naked. He just seemed very analytic and asked questions the whole time. I guess I had a bruise near my left breast (probably from working out) He got kind of worried when i told it hurts near there. Since he is not a girl he went to my grandmother for advice (my mother is not with us). My grandmother I guess found it wrong he was touching me. Started yelling at him no father should do that to a daughter and yada yada. She told me I was wrong in letting him examine me. I didnt really find it wrong, I mean cmon he is MY FATHER!!! He doesnt think of me that way, no way, he is very respectful and we are very open about sex and stuff. But I tried searching up this same question online and got a lot of articles about molestation and stuff. I know I wasn't molested!!! But I wonder if I should keep more boundaries between my father and me. Like was it really really bad and wrong that I let him examine me? Sorry for the long story, just that I have to explain it all otherwise you wouldn't understand. And yeah I could have gone to the doctor but they always make me do a co-payment and it would take a like a month to set up the appointment. Kaiser's next available appt. would be till March 23!!! Please try to respond professionally to an extent, I know there is always gonna be some joker who is gonna say something dumb =P
My parents are always scolding me for something. What should I do?
Yes, someone rightly pointed out in an another answer that,Some are loving parents and some are scolding parents, but all of them have same love for their kids.Now, scolding cannot be stopped in a day or two. You have to change their mindset towards you. For that you need to:Get grounded for a month.Don't show any additional activity from your side towards anything.Mind your own business.Do only what is necessary during this period.Do not indulge in any debate with your parents, not even a positive one. Stay away.Mind your own business again.Do not fight with your siblings, instead teach them something new.Never raise your voice during this period.And again, mind your own business.And lastly, stay away from trouble. Sleep and Wake up early.That month would be an eye opener for you, because if you follow the above steps you would have so much energy, which you generally used to waste, that can be focused onto something productive, like your studies, sports, music, art and what not. Once you let your energy flow through the right channel you will start enjoying it. So, no more scolding. My Dad won't let me be a Christian?
theres a saying that ur parents want the best for u. question is. are u doing this because u really truly deep inside believe in it. or just cuz its fun or becuz there are guys there? i heard so many of my christian friends who are girls say"omg hes gonna be there" or "there cute guys at my church" seems more like they go to find cute guys not really pray and stuff. personally i believe there might be a god and i do believe in ghosts cuz i had to deal with them since i was little. some done believe theres such a thing just like some dont believe theres a god or "the" god. i was kinda catholic. i tried christianity. didnt work for me. i didnt feel comfortable i felt like they were forcing me to believe and i had to go when they wanted me to go. i thought they were hypocrites. if i believe i dont have to prove it to anyone right? basically if u really have so much faith and ur 100% sure then continue with ur practices. if not just go with ur gut and leave. my parents are catholic im kinda agnostic, meaning i only believe in things that make sense to me. hope this helps.
My Dad is forcing me to be a doctor!?
I'm 15 and next year I'll be going sixth form for 2 years then at 18 heading to university. So 3more years. And right now my dad and my grandad are forcing me to become a doctor. This is how the conversation went. Grandad: sit down, so what do you want to study in University? Me: architecture. Grandad: hmmm Dad: why don't you study medicine? Me:no, I'm doing architecture Dad: but you get a lot of money in architecture GranDad: please do it because you'll make money and make me proud. Dad: yeahh It will make me so proud of you Me: I'm not gonna do a job I don't like for most of my life, and get a lot of money. I'd rather do a job I like and get decent but big amount of money. As architecture is one of the highest paid jobs in the world. But they kept having these comebacks and ignoring my views like it isn't my life they are talking bout. Saying what about a dentist/dentistry? I'm like nooo.. I said why are you forcing me I already know what I want to do! And he's like just think about it... Its my life, and I love art and maths and history not science even though I'm predicted a B. Also, my dad was like there's too many creative people in our family we need doctors. I'm scared and pressured if I don't suceed in architecture they are making me scared.. Because I know if I didn't sucees they'd be like I told you so. Who's right me or my Dad/Grandad?
