Was Malcolm X A Villian

Do you think Malcolm X was a hero?

Malcolm X was a self-centered, narcissistic, Black Supremacist and he never accomplished anything except sending race relations back about 100 years. He never followed through on anything he preached about. Malcolm X was just an instigator and full of hot air.

Was Malcolm X a hero? and/or and American hero?

Malcolm X is misrepresented in our already misleading history books. This whole violence thing that people connect him to. When and where? Instead of being a typical yes(black) man like we had to be in those days, he was the voice of a disenfranchised group of people.

Here is a difference between him and Martin Luther King. Malcolm X would stand face to face with the very groups that hated us, such as the KKK or FBI. MLK used to conduct all these marches, yet he would surround himself with women and children to decrease his chances of being attacked. Malcolm was committed to never cheating on his wife(Never did) and MLK was a womanizer with women in every city he visited and most if not all the women were white. Remember he was a head of a church. Malcolm X fought for a cause the way a white man would have, which is what made him dangerous (Any means necessary is similar to white mans Manifest Destiny), MLK fought the cause way the white man wanted (Peace and turning the other cheek) which almost never achieves anything.

The reason I made a small comparison to MLK is, MX is always viewed as a bad guy. Everyone has a dark side, at least we knew his since he was not afraid to talk about it so that way you could never hold it against him. MLK and the people around him did there best to hide what he use to do, just ask Jesse Jackson his protege that got his hand caught in the cookie jar.

Malcolm X is an American Hero, though most whites don't know that, because all they know is what our bs history books say about him being a radical militant. If he is a militant, Abraham Lincoln was a Hitler.

I think you chose a fine topic to write and essay on and you'll have a new perspective on MX. I know I did once I studied his works when I became an adult.

Do you think Malcolm X was a hero or a demagogue? why or why not?

I personally think Malcoml X was a menace in his early years

1) he coined the term[correct me if im wrong] the term "african american" and I hate being called anything other than black or jamaican. Regardless of my heritage, call me what iam. Plus this term is being used to identify ALL dark skinned ppl, not likin that

2)He prefered to use forceful tactics to get wat he wanted[for his race] which i disagree with. And he didnt even impact positive black society as much as MLKJ.

3) He felt it necessary to belittle white[caucasion w/e] ppl by calling them cra*****. which caused even more hostility and tension between the races.

4) On a positive note, he did stand up for wat he believed regardless of the the opinions of others*

Would allowing Malcolm Merlyn to become Ra's Al Ghul be dangerous?

It will both positive and negative consequences. Malcolm Merlyn is a coldblooded assassin. And he won't hesitate doing something he wants to. He wanted the Ra's title, he got it. Now, positive consequences.A. Given the Legends trailer and return of Sara Lance, I believe with Merlyn as Ra's, we'd see her resurrected. +1.B. He still is Thea's father. So he would think a thousand times before doing anything that hurts her. That's what S3 implied for me. +2.C. He is a maniac, when on your side, could be a great asset along with the league. +3.Negatives.A. He has no incentive to follow your order anymore. You being Team Arrow. With great power comes, in this sense, great arrogance. -1.B. The League. World's most brutal assassins. Don't mess with them. -2.C. Nyssa Al Ghul. Wanted her father dead. You wouldn't rule out the possibility of her going rogue. -3.D. Merlyn will go mad in power. He'd burn down cities if he wants. The heroes can't be there all the time. -4.So, that's pretty much it. Eagerly waiting for S4. And Legends!!!

Why was malcolm x a hero to history?

I admired Malcolm X, though his views were very radical in the beginning. Just as he started to get good, he was killed. As far as being a hero to history, I guess he could have been one.

Malcolm X didn't see eye to eye with Dr. ML King. While Dr. King's concern was equal rights and integration for blacks. Malcolm X wanted rights for blacks in general. It didn't matter to him whether schools were segregated, he wanted schools to be the same as whites. He wanted the blacks to have the same opportunity, the be treated with dignity and respect, just as the white man. Not having second hand books and being degraded.

After his return from Mecca Malcolm learned that regardless of one's creed or color, racism was everybody's problem. Racism wasn't just between blacks and whites. He learned that regardless, it was ok to accept assistance/help from outside the race to reach a goal. The history of Malcolm X goes into great detail of how he pulled away from Elijah Mohammad with having his own ideas. Malcolm use to start with "Elijah Mohammad says...." When he decided to speak of his own teachings and terms, it created tension with the Nation of Islam. Such tension that Elijah Mohammad most likely feared he was losing power. Malcolm X had a lot of power over his followers. It stands the reason Malcolm X was assassinated.

What do you think about the movie "Black Panther" and the opportunity for moviegoers to see it at the movie theaters for free during Black History Month 2019?

I enjoyed the movie. Good special effects, fine acting, great upset of the viewer’s expectations about who the villain is going to be. Like all the best superhero movies, it makes the main character confront the question, “What are you without your powers?” and T’Challa provides a very satisfactory and courageous answer.I was a little put off at first by the portrayal of Wakandans, which seemed a bit stereotyped and even contains Asian and Australasian elements. But I found myself won over as I realized that the movie is about building a romanticized African myth, not any accurate picture of any particular part of Africa. It would be like complaining about Excalibur because Arthurian warriors didn’t actually have plate armor and wizards, or Hero because ancient Chinese martial artists didn’t actually have antigravity. I can’t really define what makes Excalibur, Hero and Black Panther effective romantic ur-myths, but realism isn’t it.But that brings me to the second part of the question; free tickets to Black Panther are a ludicrous way to celebrate Black History Month, because, for all the good things Black Panther is, it isn’t history and was never intended to be. There are several great black history movies out there: Glory, Malcolm X, 12 Years a Slave, Amistad, Selma. All are about real black people and the things they really did to change themselves and the world. Bringing any of them back to theaters for free showings would be a sensible way to celebrate Black History Month; showing mythology isn’t, even if it’s well-done mythology like Black Panther. You might as well celebrate Greek history with free showings of Wonder Woman.

What TV shows or movies have villains that become good?

HBO’s Deadwood presents us with a great villain in Al Swearengen, played with dastardly glee by Ian McShane. He’s cold, calculating, manipulative and clever. His vocabulary would make a sailor blush and he’s possessed with a very dark sense of humor. Swearengen at first glance is a character that is seemingly irredeemable, almost Satanic in his villainy. But by the end of the series he manages to claw his way to redemption. It’s a compromised deliverance from evil, but striking when compared to where he started.
