How important is perfect IVs / IV breeding in Pokémon?

So, to put it in perspective: 1 IV point = 1 point on that stat at lvl 100. When your pokemon levels up, it usually gets, on average from 0-3 points on any given stat. So that means that two lvl 100 pokemons, one with all 0 IVs and one with perfect 31 IVs would be comparable to fighting a level 100 against a level 131. That's 31 more levels that you can be higher than your opponent when factoring IV's. I mean, I'm sure you wouldn't go against a level 81 with your level 50. Of course, at level 50 which is where most competitive battling on the actual games happens this difference is significantly less, but this gives you an idea of just how important they can be.However, I usually don't like worrying too much about them. Without a perfect IV ditto, it's really hard and time consuming to breed perfect pokemon, so I just don't worry about it. I personally think that Natures are way more important, since 10% boost in any stat is usually higher than what IV's will give you (especially if that stat is high in the first place, which is what you should be aiming to increase in the first place). An extra 10% plus EV's will give your pokemon a strong enough push to be effective in their roles, even without the IV's. So you can enjoy competitive aspects of the game even without IV'sOf course, if you want to play in a tournament or something, then yeah, make sure you have the IV's because then the difference will be really significant. If you're playing just for fun, don't worry too much about it.

Is There A Super Bowl Block/Box/Square Strategy?

Everyone from work is selecting boxes for our super bowl party. There is a 10x10 grid (100 total boxes). We all put our name in the box and then there is a random drawing as to numbers placed across the top and side. Those numbers are used for the super bowl score after the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters -- and that person then wins. I am going to pick 3 or 4 boxes and was wondering if you guys thought it was best to pick all 3 or 4 boxes all in one row (giving a chance of hitting a big number like 0, 3, 4, or 7) and then get to win lots. Or do you pick 4 squares in a row (to look like a box), giving 2 boxes in 4 different directions. I also heard of taking 3 or 4 boxes on a diagonal to make sure that you get a variety of numbers. Lastly (the way most do it i guess), is just a random way of putting them in all different places.

Are there any 'math' or 'numbers' people out there who can advice to the advantages to doing something other than random placement?
Please help if you can.
Thank you in advance!!

Can you explain what betting over/under 1.5 goals means as in if I bet for and the team scores 0 do I win?

A team at - 1.5 means:
The team is hanicapped by 1.5 goals before the game starts. Meaning it is loosing by 1.5 goals before the game.
To win this bet, your team must win by atleast a 2 clear goal margin. (2-0, 3-0, 3-1, 4-0, 4-1, 4-2)
You would loose if your team do not overcome the 2 goal handicapped.
-------------
A team at +1.5 means :
The team is starting the game with a 1.5 goal ahead.
As long as they do not loose the game by more then 2 goals, the bet wins. Loose (1-0, 2-1, 3-2, 4-3)
A draw also wins the bet.
Any outright win also wins the bet for you.
------------
The reason betting operators offer a 1.5 handicapped is to eliminate a refund.
If they offer a 2 goal handicap, and the team wins by a 2 goal cushion, there is no winner.
You can't score half a goal. So to confirm a winning bet or lose, the operators offer -1.5 and +1.5.
- 1.5 ( less then 1 goal )
+1.5 ( above then 2 goals )

I’m in the first year of an IIM. What certifications can I do to improve my profile during MBA?

If you are interested in Finance Profiles then completion of CFA (Level 1 and 2) or FRM (Level 1 and 2) will come in handy at the time of placement as well afterwards. If you are interested in Systems/IT then Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) will help you get a foothold in IT management and related types. If you are interested in Consultancy/Process re-Engineering then Six Sigma Green Belt Certification will help you move the ladder. Thanks to Chaitanya Kodavaty, those interested in Operations and Supply Chain can look at CSCP(Certified Supply Chain Professional) and CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management). For HR profiles, HR Certification Institute (HRCI) offers two certificates namely Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) certification and Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certification. Having additional certification is always advantageous either in Indian context or globally. Some of you asked me about certification in Marketing?I feel Marketing to be more of an art than science. Companies also prefer guys with relevant field experience than the one with certification. So for Marketing I haven’t come across any proper certification. Certified Marketing Management Professional (CMMP) is there but not sure of its effectiveness in India. If interested, can try Dale Carniege’s Events Summary | View All Courses and SeminarsSo, at the end, it all depends on what area you want to enter, there is always a certification that is up for grabs. Be sure of what you want to do by end of Summers. Because you will be hard pressed for time once placement season starts at B-School.

Which is better, Zerodha or Upstox? Provide justifications for your answer.

Here’s probably the only answer in this thread with no affiliate links in the post ;)Both are good choices. You might be surprised to hear me say that, since I’m a CoFounder of Upstox, but in business it’s important to be transparent since users/readers can easily see through BS. Plus, it’s really not in my nature to not be truthful :)Zerodha had first mover advantage over us, so naturally they have a larger client base. In many ways, they have set the trend for discount broking in India to pick up. Furthermore, they have done it while building a loyal user-base and legitimately innovating in a space that has seen little innovation is a long time. When we came to India in 2009, they were just starting out. We didn’t become a retail-facing firm until 2012, and by then Zerodha was already doing very well.So it’s important to understand Why we decided to launch a discount brokerage when there was already a respected, innovative player in the league. In business, the Why matters more than the How or the What. The honest truth is that we did it because we wanted to build a great product that was super user friendly and loved by tens of thousands of active traders. Coming from a trading background, the three of us knew how important it was for the end user to enjoy the trading experience. It wouldn’t have really mattered if there were three established discount brokers in the space; as long as we felt that we could build a better product, while keeping brokerage at Rs. 20 or lower per order, it was worth it.We eventually became the first in the country to build a complete in house product. We were the first to build a platform on the Web. We were the first to launch Aadhar based account opening. And of course, we were the first to launch free delivery trading.Like I said, you can’t go wrong with either option, but when you look at the Why, you’ll understand that Upstox is a pretty good choice.
