They also ordered the expulsion of all of the Jews of Spain, who had lived there for over 1000 years. By kicking out the Jews, Spain lost the majority of its best minds, and Spain never recovered from this "brain drain." Over the next three hundred years, Spain went from being a major world power to being a minor third-rate country. Even today, Spain remains a very unimportant nation.

She recieved a normal education for a princess of the time such as reading, writing, history, music and heraldry. She later learned latin as an adult and promoted learning within her court.

She and her husband waged a war against the last muslim state in Spain and the muslims were told to either convert to christianity or leave the country. Those that didn't do either were uncovered by the Inquisition which Isabella and her husband set up.

She funded the travel of Christopher Columbus to the Americas and later when she learned about the american indians she wrote laws that protected them from being used as slaves or being persecuted.

Her skills would have included knowledge of diplomacy, foreign languages, legal matters, religious matters, management skills, she taught her own children so she was a teacher as well.

One of her children was Catherine of Aragon who was the first wife of King Henry VIII of England. It was his desire to divorce her as she hadn't given him a son which led to England turning away from the Catholic church and becoming protestant.
