Was Prophet Mohamed Infallible

Is it necessary for Prophet’s successor to be infallible?

yes they are. Among the issues necessary to mention is that the Infallible (AS) is not compelled to obey God and avoid sins; they do everything and avoid sins of their free will because infallibility is a second habit or insight about things. The Infallible (AS) hates sins and he avoids them without compulsion; he is desirous of obeying Allah in every matter. In fact, all of this is due to success granted by Allah. If the imams are essentially infallible, can we follow them as role models?

Is the Prohet Muhammad regarded as infallible?

Prophet Muhammad is not infallible in the way that angels are infallible. The fact that Muhammad (Saw) was a human is why he was sent as a messenger to humans instead of an angel who would be truly infallible. For Muslims Muhammad (Saw) was as best a human can possibly be. Prophets make mistakes but they don't engage in major sins. Musa[Moses] (Peace be upon him) murdered a man and Yunus[Jonah] (Peace be upon him) ran away from his duties however they both repented and Allah accepted their repentance. It is through these mistakes the prophets show their humanity and set examples for us humans. These mistakes neither diminish their status nor change their rank in front of Allah.Muhammad (Saw) is infallible because despite being a human of free will he chose to follow Allah's commands in everything he did and serve as a messenger and example to the rest of humanity. Of course he felt human emotions such as sadness and anger and he displayed those but feeling emotions is not a moral fault. It is clear that when Muhammad (Saw) became angry it is because he had witnessed or become informed about something that deserved anger and there were certain incidents in Muhammad's (Saw) life where he did an action and was then corrected by Allah. For us Muslims, we hold Muhammad (Saw)as the most perfect human being who ultimately is sinless and an example for all humanity and yes to Muslims his actions are immune to criticism because his actions were guided and informed by Allah himself and there is no criticism of Allah except that it is blasphemous. Considering Muhammad (Saw) infallible is not a sign of worship. We consider angels divinely infallible but we do not worship them. Instead we afford Muhammad (Saw) with the respect he deserves, we do not criticize him in any way and we use him as an example to live by.Muhammad (Saw) experienced every human emotion. He loved, got angry, smiled, laughed, joked etc. in the best possible way. He bled like a human when he was injured in the battle of Uhud and he retreated to take shelter from the enemy. He became distressed by the incident of slander against Aisha (ra). There are many more instances where we see the humanity of our prophet. Study the seerah of the prophet because that is the only way you'll learn about these things.

Was the prophet Muhammad sinless?

Muslims teach Muhammad was sinless. However the Quran specifically limits the number of wives a Muslim man can marry to 4. Yet Muhammad married at least 12 women.

Question: Is Muhammad above the law he gave in the Quran and isn’t the definition of sin violating the law of God?

Sunni:Was abubakr infallible?

he is and so is umar without actually claiming they are infallible, any mistake the 3 khaliphas made are always defended and never really was a mistake rather there is "wisdom" behind it, yet the Prophet's supposed mistakes are always pointed out and accepted

we always hear them say sahabah are best of the best and nobody can reach their level, yet the Prophet was just a normal person like you and me.

we also never hear people talking about Abu Bakr or Umar's mistakes, but always about the Prophet and Ahlul Bayt

And i thought angels of Allah SWT were infallible? Now its only Allah SWT? Lol, infallibility is not even an attribute of Allah, its an attribute for the created, just like sleeping and eating

Do Muslims consider that Prophet Muhammad committed any sins during is life?

Yea he did. Once he frowned in the face of one of his followers and turned away and he was a blind man. So god blamed him for that in the Quran in Surat Abasa (he frowned)1. He frowned and turned away,2. Because there came to him the blind man.3. And what would make you know that he might (spiritually) purify himself,4. Or become reminded so that the reminder might profit him?5. As to one who regards himself as self-sufficient,6. To him do you address yourself7. Though it is no blame on you if he would not (spiritually) purify himself.8. But as to him who comes to you striving hard.9. And he fears (Allah in his heart),10. Of him wast thou unmindful. Surat AbasaAnd he made another mistake when took ransom for the war prisoners of Badr, when he should have killed them."It is not for a Prophet that he should have prisoners of war (and free them with ransom) until he had made a great slaughter (among his enemies) in the land. You desire the good of this world (i.e. the money of ransom for freeing the captives), but Allah desires (for you) the Hereafter. And Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise. Were it not a previous ordainment from Allah, a severe torment would have touched you for what you took." Al-Qur'an 8:67-68Later on, Allah provided permission to take ransom. So when you meet those who disbelieve [in battle], strike [their] necks until, when you have inflicted slaughter upon them, then secure their bonds, and either [confer] favor afterwards or ransom [them] until the war lays down its burdens. That [is the command]. And if Allah had willed, He could have taken vengeance upon them [Himself], but [He ordered armed struggle] to test some of you by means of others. And those who are killed in the cause of Allah - never will He waste their deeds. And finally, Allah forgave him all his sins the once he did and the once he did not do yet.(That Allah may forgive for you what preceded of your sin and what will follow and complete His favor upon you and guide you to a straight path) Al Fath 2

Is Muhammad considered fallible?

The Prophets of God are the best of mankind, and the most noble of creation before God. God chose them to convey His message to mankind, and God has made them the intermediaries between Him and His creation in conveying His Laws and explaining it to mankind. So, in conveying the message as given to them by God, all the prophets of God, including prophet Muhamad, are infallible. They are full protected and supported by God to accomplish their mission of delivering the message to the people as it should be delivered. They did not conceal anything that God had revealed to them, and they did not add anything from themselves. They are also infallible and protected against committing major sins, or committing dishonoring sins. They might however, commit minor human errors/sins in matters that have nothing to do with conveying the message and the revelation. But if they committed such actions they were not left to persist in it, rather God would point that out to them and they would quickly repent from it.

Muslims: Were Sahaba RA infallible?

9:117 Allah turned with favour to the Prophet, the Muhajirs, and the Ansar,- who followed him in a time of distress, after that the hearts of a part of them had nearly swerved (from duty); but He turned to them (also): for He is unto them Most Kind, Most Merciful.

This verse states that even if some Sahaba RA made some mistakes like in Uhud, but because they supported and followed Prophet SAW in very hard time when polytheists and hypocrites joint together to kill them. They chose Islam and Prophet SAW over worldly pleasures which they can get after become mushrikeen again.

Allah forgave their mistakes.

59:8 (Some part is due) to the indigent Muhajirs, those who were expelled from their homes and their property, while seeking Grace from Allah and (His) Good Pleasure, and aiding Allah and His Messenger. such are indeed the SINCERE ONES:-

Are the Ahlul Bayt sinless free from all sin and infallible?

Bismillahi Arahman Araheem, Salam Alaikum.

It is great you are seeking knowledge in this Deen, that is something we all should do. In Ahlul Bayt, you mean the family of the Prophet Muhammad, may peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. From my understanding the family of the Prophet are not free of sin. As I do not know much about this topic, and the great majority of people on yahoo also are not knowledgeable about this topic, I urge you to seek knowledge from a good, reliable Islamic source to all your religious questions.

I also would like to address other questions you posted, that I would of liked to answer to the best of my knowledge. Concerning the hijab, it is mandatory in Islam. How big of a sin it is for not wearing it, I do not know, and I would also urge you to get knowledge from a knowledgeable, reliable, good Islamic source about this topic, which is best to look outside of yahoo for your answer.

Also yahoo is open to all kinds of people to answer you questions. Some are non-Muslims, some are people who hate Islam and only wish for its destruction, some are Muslims that don't practice, some are Muslims that would like to help but just don't have the ability or knowledge in doing so, as well as many other kinds of people. So it is best to look outside of this site.

I hope my answer has helped, I wish you guidance, blessings, and Jannah from Allah, to you, your family, and to all Muslims.

May Allah forgive me for anything I wrote that is incorrect or anything else I did that is wrong.

Salam Alaikum Wa RahmatUllahi Wa Barkatu
