Where Can You Find the Northern Lights in Canada?

There is no hard and fast rule as to where you can see them from. I've seen them from everywhere from Niagara Falls Ontario to Brandon Manitoba to Edmonton Alberta. They do not show regularly and the only way to know where you can see them from is to look up towards the north from where ever you are. If you see them then you can see them from there.

None of those.

To see the lights, you need to be north, unless they are extraordinarily strong. And, you need to be away from the lights of a city, and most of those are big cities, and heavily light polluted. Whistler would be the darkest sky, but, the mountains means they would have to be right overhead, and at that latitude, whey would be low in the northern sky,if they were there at all.

Today's forecast shows that you might see them at Fort Nelson, if they are active (and, not likely to be).

I grew up in southern BC, and only ever saw the faintest of glows, even in a dark sky. Living near Dawson City now, displays are amazing - covering 3/4 of the sky some nights. But, I'm 3000km north of where I grew up!
